I love all the lightweight merino wool offerings! This shirt is feather light, soft and warm. The medium fit me as expected and is not itchy at all. I just wish there were more colors! I'd buy one in every color.

I bought this base layer top for improved warmth during winter hiking. I love that it has the warmth of wool, but it's thin and not at all bulky. I bought a small ( 5'5" and 125 lbs), and it's long enough to stay tucked into my pants. If you're concerned about scratchiness, you can wear a thin silk or polyester layer under it, but I didn't find that to be a problem. Everyone is different when it comes to the feel of wool agains your skin!

Very nice base layer. The pale purple is a beautiful color and I love the turtleneck option for a base as it really does help keep me warmer than a crew neck base. I can layer this under another turtleneck and really stay warm.
I have sensitive skin and I don't find it at all itchy! I hope to collect a few more pieces from this collection.

Very light, comfortable, attractive and effective turtleneck. I have two colors and wear them often through the winter. The turtleneck is not confining as many are, but still holds it shape so that my neck is protected from the cold and wind. It travels well and rolls up very small. Highly recommend!

warmth, slightest itchiness, wash cold and line dry, biggest challenge is keeping moths away, really like warmth for thinness

This shirt is so soft and warm. I am somewhat sensitive to some wools and I have no problem with this fabric. I both it specifically for a trip to the
Scottish Islands next summer and it won't disappoint. It will keep me warm in the wet, windy weather of Scotland.

Fits great. I like the shoulder seams better on this top than on the short sleeve top. The way they are cut does not dig into my underarm like the short sleeve top does. This is thin enough to fit under dress shirts or other tops without being too tight. The neck is comfortable also. The thumb holes are great for keeping the sleeves down when putting other tops on.

I decided to size up to a large this time only because one of my other 150 cresta base layer tops is feeling too snug. The two other mediums I have are OK. This is much roomier, so I still need to try it to see how it works out wearing it under my other winter tops here in CT. I sometimes wear these even in fall and all day inside my home. They really help me to stay warm. I am 5'6" tall, 134 LBs and over 65 years old. I also tend to need more room through my shoulders, so therefore the Large this time.

This turtleneck is exceptionally lightweight which makes it easy to wear under other layers. Also, the fabric content makes it decidedly warm. I washed it and hung it to dry which worked well.

Bought this in the periwinkle color and really like it. Lightweight but warm, gorgeous color. The contrasting stitching is flattering.

This is a great first layer, can be worn under any tops as it is not bulky. Totally soft, comfortable, and itch-free against the skin. I wear it at home, as the house is kept cool, and for outside walks. Medium fits as expected, close to the body but not tight (I'm 5'3" and weigh about 135). I am very happy with the purchase and highly recommend this item!

I knew this was going to be lightweight. I wanted the turtleneck, which is a nice feature. Seems to run a bit small for Bean - which is usually very generous with their sizing. I got the small which fits but I have to be very careful that I don't shrink it! Also - as another reviewer has correctly pointed out - the thumb holes do fall where the pinky fingers are! I do like the light purple color!

This is a comfy warm layering turtleneck. It is to thin to wear on its own but a perfect layer. The wool is warm and soft- I do not notice scratchiness. The thumb loops are especially helpful in putting on the next layer. There was a an inch or so of shrinkage on washing, but there seems to be extra length built in- but I am petit anyway. The color is nice too.

I was lucky to find this wool turtleneck at the last minute on sale before a trip to Iceland. It was a great color for me, the right size, everything was perfect. I wore it many times on my trip, but I noticed as I tried to use the thumb holes on the sleeves- that they are in the wrong place! They are on the outside of the arm near my pinkies instead of on the inside by my thumbs. When I try to use them the arms of the shirt twist making it very uncomfortable. Is that why it was on sale??? I doubt it as it is not noticeable until trying to use the thumb holes!! Other than that the shirt was fine- it kept me warm- who needs thumb holes anyway?!

Good color and sizing. Keeps me warm. Turtleneck is not bad, but not as tight as I prefer. Happy with it!

Got the lavender one as a christmas present. It's nice except that the thumb hole on th right arm is instead a pinky hole and therefore useless unless you twist the sleeve around. Also - It's more of a mock turtle neck instead of a true turtle neck. Could be higher.

HATE HATE HATE the rubber logo (barely visible on the webpage). Cannot get it off without ruining what is otherwise an accurately described item with nice covered seams and good wool knit. The material is great, but why this urge to tack on something so ugly and which shows through a layered garment? My old LLBean wool undergarments were just fine with a simple LLBean tag. I do not understand this urge for logos. Will keep this as need it, but will wear it only under heavier layers. Ugh.
