I have tried several different shoes this summer to use in my food truck. Nothing was still comfortable by the end of a 12 hour shift, until I found these! My feet are so wide that by the end of the night my toes would be all crammed into the toe box. These give me the room I need to still be comfy at the end of the night. #sweepstakes

I've been wearing topos for years, but this is my first experience with the FLI-LYTE models. As a heavier runner I often gravitate to more cushioned shoes, but started developing achilles issues related to relative lack of stability. This shoe was much more comfortable than I was expecting, and my achilles issues have gotten much better. It simply a good, solid, light, comfortable running shoe. Not flashy, but I think that is a good thing.

I've been wearing FliLytes since version 2. Version 4 was my least favorite so I was anxious to see if v5 would be an improvementand after running in them for 3 weeks, I think these may be the best ones yet! First of all, what hasn't changed is the 3mm drop and the wide toe box fit that has been consistent from year to year and kept me loyal to the shoe.
v4 had a widened sole that took away from the racing flat feel of 2 and 3. v5 sole is a bit narrower than v4 so a move in the right direction in my opinion. Another upgrade: the laces. I haven't needed to double knot them at all, and they've yet to come loose. The heel is the best yet as well, with a taller tab that you can easily grab to help slip them on. And finally, they look great, with a translucent upper mesh that lets a hint of your sock color telegraph through. I think it's cool.

I have run in at least a dozen pairs of Topos. Fli-Lytes and STs are my typical road shoes. Initial impression of the Fli-Lyte 5 is generally favorable. Lightweight and reasonable cushion, but the fit is not quite as good as the prior Fli-Lyte 4. In the photo, the 4 is in blue with more than 600km on it., the 5 is in black with 10 km. The 4 is wider through the toe section and shaped more like a foot; the 5 is narrower than typical for Topos. Ankle fit is different with a higher back near the achilles though not enough to rub, and a narrower tongue. But, overall the 5 is still comfortable enough and are now in my running circulation.

The current update to the Fli-Lyte 5 is great. However the sole is too squishy. Make the FL6 sole feel like the Ultrafly 5 of Phantom 3. Also you need better colors. Give us some bright green, orange/white, yellow, blue. Thanks!

#sweepstakes I bought the recommended size per the sizing guide on the site. the toe box is almost wide enough and they were too small as well. I returned them and got a different topo shoe in a wide size and up a half size. Fit is much better. I do not usually wear wide sizes. Both pairs of shoes felt very nice but are a little expensive, also given I had to buy a more expensive item to get one that had wide size. Looking forward to seeing how they hold up.

I bought my 2nd pair of Fli-Lytes online after loving my first pair, which were professionally fitted at a Marathon Sports store. However, this time they feel 1/2 a size too large, possibly due to a substantial design change. I'm a fan of the Topo brand, the 3mm drop, and its light weight. I like how my feet land in it. In the future, I'll stick to buying my Topos at a running shoe store. Also I wish the laces could be longer as I have wide feet, resulting in a tiny bow at the top. #sweepstakes

I purchased the Fli-Lyte 5 and the ST5 in the same order. When placed side-by-side, the Fli-Lytes are clearly a longer shoe by what looks like a full size. The description made no mention of this piece of information, nor did I see any mention of sizing in any of the reviews. Go figure. They're going back to be exchanged for a smaller size. Otherwise, the shoe looks well made and this pair replaces a pair that has come to the end of its lifetime. This is my distance shoe and ST5 for midrange.

These are the LOUDEST shoes I've ever worn. The sound like two balloons rubbing together with each step. My other Topo shoes didn't do this, and this affect hasn't lessened in many months

They are very comfortable, but when I run longer than 4 miles they really start to rub into the sides of my feet. It almost feels like either the soles don't have enough friction or there is funnily enough too much room in the toe box

My only complaint is that I only got around 250 Miles in about 5 months on this pair before the fabric started tearing around the forward arch on both shoes. 1/2" tears lengthwise. I'm not too disappointed since I'm running at a 195 lbs body weight and using non-Topo insoles, but it was definitely a quicker failure than expected.

I had planned to use these for interval training. In most wide toe brands I wear a 14 but these ran a bit bigger. I will end up trying a 13 when it's back in stock

I originally had the Phantom 3s. While they felt good and were bouncy for walking, the midsole broke down while the shoes still looked new. I tried these because I just want a lower stack height for in the house, cleaning, etc, expecting the fit to be the same. It's not. It's too narrow in the midsole, and the lack of cushioning, while expected with the lower stack height, make the outer edges of the midsole very uncomfortable. It was too much outer support, when these are supposed to be a neutral shoe. These looked narrower and longer than the Phantom 3s, and made them look kind of goofy. The uppers were too large and let my feet slide forward against the toe. The tongue is too short and narrow. I do love the natural shape of the Topo toe box and hope they improve the quality of the Phantom 3s so I can try those again.

I was looking forward to the larger toe box and arch support as I am on my feet all day at work. Unfortunately, the pronatory collapse bias of the shoes increased my foot, ankle, and back pain. The search continues.......

I've been wearing Topos Fly-Lyte models for 3 to 4 years and have loved every pair I have ever worn, except this latest model. This feels like a completely different shoe. The sole feels spongey, it doesn't lock my heel in place as the previous versions did, and my foot does not feel as secure in the shoe overall. I wish Topo hadn't messed with a good thing.
