I'm wearing my Topos for work and general wear after developing plantar fasciitis pain in my feet. I searched for a shoe with a wide toe box, secure heel, and strong arch support. I absolutely love these and they're helping a lot with the foot pain. Topo is my new favorite shoe brand and I'm looking forward to hiking in them once my feet heal!

I got these for daily hiking when I felt that my Pursuits got too squishy. I wore these right out of the box. There was no break-in period. These fit my feet perfectly. I have a narrow foot and have always worn narrow shoes. With the snug midsole and heel, these shoes allow me to have a wide toe box which is way more healthy for my feet. I've been dealing with a tendon injury in one foot and Topos allow me to hike without pain. These shoes have maintained their support and rigidity for several months. I highly recommend these shoes.

I do very technical but shorter runs. Usually wear La Sportiva Wildcats which I love but could use more toe room. The toe box on the Terraventure is so roomy and comfortable. Aside from that, I had problems with the shoes. Lots of slippage on pine needles and gravel. Not enough of a toe guard. Maybe it's the lower drop, but my back actually hurt during and after my run. My knee hurt also. The Wildcats are much more stable. I would recommend the Topos for flatter, easier runs/hikes.

I've had these shoes for a few months and have used them for trail running, hiking, road running, and walking. So far I love them! I have been wearing Altra Lonepeaks for the last ~6 years and I'm finding my Topos to be both more stable (I'm a pronator) because there's more of a heel cup and more comfortable with the little but of cushion. My foot tended to slide laterally with the Altras and that is not an issue with the Topos but they still have plenty of toe room. The vibram soles also seem like they'll last longer since I do use them for road running / walking too. #sweepstakes

After years of looking for a new trail shoe and several months of nerve pain I put a pair of terraventures on and never looked back. I needed something to run longer races in than my normal line up and being very picky on footwear choices I took a chance 4 weeks before my first 100 miler. Out of the box and into a 20 mile trail run and another 20 the next day I was jumping for joy after my first run in 6 months with no sever nerve pain from my baxters neuritis! After the next weekend with the same runs and still no pain I hunted down another color in my size and took 2 pairs to my first 100 miler. 75 miles in one pair and 25 in another at the end of 100 right out of the box and no issues at all (all during Tropical Storm Ophelia). THANK YOU for making a shoe that is low drop with some cushion for longer stuff but not too much underfoot feeling ! Now more colors so I can buy them all !

I take daily 40-60 minute walks in my neighborhood. I am walking on sidewalks and asphalt. The shoes feels very stable on my feet and they are super comfortable. I also like the Topo Ultra Adventure which may be a little softer. I like the Terraventure-4 because the material seems a little sturdier.

I've always had trouble with running shoes (and other shoes for that matter) because I have wide spreading toes. Topos are the first shoes I've found that actually fit my feet. They feel great for trail running, just the right amount of cushion so you can feel the surface under your feet but not the sharp rocks. A slight problem has manifested itself this winter, though -- these are the coldest running shoes I've ever worn. Most brands I can wear a pair of wool socks and I'm fine down to 10 below, but even at 5 degrees (above zero), my feet take about two and a half miles before they warm up -- before that, it's very uncomfortable. I've been wearing a neoprene bootie inside to keep my feet warm, but it makes the fit a little snug -- but not as snug as my (warmer) Sauconys!

I hike with my topo terradventure, I do alot of off trail and scrambling. The vibram grip is awesome. I wear them every day. I have feet problems and these are the only shoes that my feet are comfortable in. I replace my shoes every 3-4 months, as they are wearing out. About 700 miles. I average about 2500 or so miles a year hiking and walking. Love these shoes

I prefer more cushion. The traction, toe box, and build are true to Topo form.

Plenty of super for walking in rocks. Love the wide toe box. The only thought I have is I would have preferred it to be slightly stiffer and yet also be this cushioned. The soles have great grip.

General sizing was true, but my heel slipped too much to keep. Tried lacing different ways with no success.

Use then for hiking. Wish they were zero drop though. And Wish they had more padding on the insole, and wish they had a built in velcro on the heal so I can use my own gators. Other than that I would buy again but need zero drop to keep the weight evenly on ball of foot and heal.

These are not good trail shoes. They are a thing layer away from being minimalist shoes. I felt every rock and root while wearing these and my feet ached after 2miles, and they weren't very grippy on the soles. They're too pliable which is not good if you have arthritis in your foot like me. I could not wait to take these off- they feel like Altra's Escalante road shoe.

Training for the PCT and I think I finally found my shoe! I use them with the Sole Active insole for PF and it's been working well! Love how stable they are even though they aren't a "stability" shoe. Ground feel is great and my knees are so happy! I have patellar tracking issues and these have been amazing.

Therese are my go to dog walking shoes and light hiking. Roomy toe box makes for a comfortable walk/hike no matter how long or the terrain. Great support.

This is my second pair of Terraventure 4 - in fact, I just clicked the "Reorder" button in the order history. They are great for the rocky trails I hike and the lugs provide good traction. I put a lot of miles on my trail runner shoes and the lugs at the ball of the foot tend to wear out before anything else, but the overall fit and comfort keep me coming back. I have very long toes that make it difficult to find shoes that don't cause blisters and callouses on my outer toes but Topo's wide toe box provides enough room without becoming a trip hazard.

This particular style of Topo has a firm margin with no flex all the way around the toes. That lack of stretch mashes the toe that is slightly wider than the rest. That's a torture I want to avoid. Other than this Topos are good shoes for most people. They have good arch support, generous toe box, are available in size 11.5. One problem, they are a horrible color. Why do this? The color is unpleasant. The color goes with nothing. If the shoes fit perfectly I'd put up with the unacceptable color for the sake of comfort. I had high hopes but back they go.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Naot

I have duck feet -- narrow heels, but need width and depth at the toes due to bunions and hammer toes. I've finally found a walking shoe that is designed for my type of feet! These were perfect in every way, and Topo is now going to be my go-to brand for athletic type shoes. My ONLY complaint with these shoes is that the color I got -- sage -- is really more of a blue/gray. It is not green at all, and I was really wanting a sage green. But I am keeping them because they feel so perfect.

These will be my new travel shoes, perfect for trails, cobblestones, or pavement. The only issue is the color. I bought the "sage" color, and in asking a dozen people what color my shoes are, only 2 said definitely greenish; most others say they look blue, and one said gray.

I finally found a trail shoe with a wide toe box and a rock plate to replace my Altras! I have used Lone Peaks since the 5th iteration but the treads kept wearing down faster and faster. The last pair were flat in the front in two months. These Topos are a dream! They were comfortable right out of the box and felt better than my Altras in a ten-mile hike. If the soles last, which I have high hopes for the Vibram outsoles, I will only buy Topos from now on!

I'm not a runner so bought these for short to medium hikes (3-5 miles). I put them to the test on the trails around Lake Tahoe and they felt great. I do use an orthotic insole for arch support. I bought a half size up because in other shoes I've had problems with my toes jamming into the front of the shoes. No problem with that on the downhills with those shoes. The treads felt secure when climbing over rocks. I' m not sure if the soles are stiff enough for really rocky trails but am optimistic they'll be fine.

"#sweepstakes" Love the wide toe box, great grip on all types of terrain, and comfort right out of the box. Just wore these for daily hikes on a two week west coast road trip. They held up to some abuse, and we're always comfortable.
