Was sick of slipping during winter months in MN. Had debated buying for few winters and these boots are more than worth it!

Bought these boots as a winter wear. They look great, are extremely soft, and the boot fits well, true to size. That is until you zipper up the side zip and the ankle gets crunched tight. This surprised me as every J&M show of mine fits perfectly. One solution is to not pull the zipper up all the way, but that is not acceptable. I had no choice but to return the boots to the store as much as I wanted to love them.

I 100% love these zip ankle boots, they fit just tight enough, they are very comfortable after you break them in, no blisters or sore spots. I get compliments on these all the time. The classic wingtip style is timeless. I love the height of the heel just right. The color/patina is awesome too, i even bought the matching pair in Black too

Durable, elegant and stylish boots.

I bought these boots for my boyfriend to have for dress apparel and while at trade show this week, he called to tell me that one heel separated and then later in the day, the other boot did the same thing. This should not be happening to a pair of boots that have only been worn a handful of times. Very disappointed. This is not the JM quality I am used to.

Im wearing the black ones right now as i write this review. I own both this newer model and the older model(cody captoe) I like both models. the difference between the two are the wingtip shape. the old cody captoes has a straght line across the top of the toe box area. Also this newer model fits 0.5 smaller, more true to the size. the older one fits little loose. Anyway i own 3 brand new pairs of J&M boots and 5 pairs in rotation. I love this brand so much.

Arguably the most painful boots I have ever worn. Massive blisters after using them 2 x 2 days over a 2-week period. Otherwise very nice

The boot is fits well (size 13) and is quite comfortable. I have worn them with jeans and a suit, and the boots compliment each outfit well. The comfort of the boots are unparalleled, and I can wear them all day. They are surprising lightweight.

I admit I felt hesitant to purchase these boots after several reviews mentioning issues with durability. And I wasn't sure how I would like the side zipper. I am thrilled with the styling and often get unsolicited compliments about the boots. One gripe I've had so far is that rarely can I wear them without getting a scuff on the leather. Even in the most gentle of circumstances I can guarantee I will need to run a cloth or completely polish the shoes after wearing them. Like another poster I did end up buying two pair of the same design. Thus I can rotate them out. I'm not sure if the heel will be an issue as it has seemed to be with at least a couple of folks so far. I have already seen what seems like a bit of wear on the soles after only a few months. (And these are not every day wear. Maybe 2-3 times a week) To be continued.

This boot was really comfortable except for the top inside brad dug into both ankles and bruised them. I thought I may need to break them in and soften the leather but I couldnt stand wearing them the next day. With that said I have a lot of Johnston & Murphy shoes; they have always been great shoes and the company stands by the product.

The Johnson and Murphy Boot fits me better than any other boot Ive ever owned theyre comfortable and fashionable! I couldnt be more pleased!

That's right - its my last pair. After 3 attempts to get a boot from Johnston and Murphy that can keep a heel, I have given up. I own 5 other pairs of J&M shoes, but my customer experiences have been horrible. While the lady who took my call was kind enough - she is hamstrung by policy. I have had 2 other pairs of J&M boots, the Welsh i believe that also lost their heels that I returned to a store and exchanged, actually being charged for the last pair. On september 23, 2023, I acquired the boot I'm posting to. I have worn them maybe 30 days to work, and office job. Today, while walking to a meeting, the heel fell off. Where I am frustrated is what I need to do - drive almost an hour away, ship a package, I took photos of the heel, the condition of the shoe, the markings inside.... but alas, its now my job to fix what clearly must be a problem with the shoes. While i like the look, I can no longer vouch for J&M. Beyond frustrated... can anyone recommend a quality boot??

I love this shoe. and most J&M shoes. However, J&M can not make a shoe lace to save their lives. Mine broke in less than a month and J&M has very little help options to replace them

Had these for a year now. Laces are unraveling, and I cant find exact replacements. Also, the leather is becoming too loose around the foot.

Excellent! I tried on some other J&M boots, and these where the most comfortable, and in my opinion stylish. I bought the black initially, and now I'm getting the brown.

Great boot, I only wore them three times so far but I feel like theyre going to get even better with age.

As a longtime Johnson and Murphy customer I was very disappointed with how fast the heel came off. I purchased two pair, one black, one brown, and the black pair fell apart. The brown ones are still holding up pretty good so far. I glued the heel back on and even put some screws in it to keep it on as it kept coming off.

I've had 2 pairs of these now and both have not lasted more than a year. I will say that I do wear them most days but it's normal wear, nothing heavy duty. For the price you pay I would expect them to last longer than 9 months. Anyway, I won't be purchasing Johnson and Murphy again given the lack of durability. I do love the styles they have though. It's a shame
