Very well made, great confit and support. If it lasts as long as my other SAS shoes, great value.

this is a great boot for men like me with narrow feet. however, the boots need to be re-designed with hooks on the top two sets of eyelets and the "tongue holder" (that little strap that the laces feed through) should be further down the tongue. in my case, it was not a big deal. i had my local shoe repair store make the changes.

I'll be first to admit that I used this product for the incorrect task. I bought these boots as a work boot for a retail job, that looking back I much rather would've bought the hatchet chukka for. That being said these were still great shoes and were still incredibly comfortable, and for walking outdoors are suitable. The suede leather and gum outsole are incredibly durable and after a years worth of wear are still holding up. The only points of failure I found were the knit toe box and the lining of the shoe. The lining while being breathable did not last long and rubbed away in the heel as well as in the arch and the toe box separated from the moc toe. Overall you're paying for the comfort and the style of the shoe and while I can say I got my moneys worth from this shoeI can't guarantee you will.

Nice shoe. Appears to be well made but the arch on the right shoe hurts my foot. Not sure if it's my foot or the shoe.

Low quality control, terrible customer service, horrendous return policy. APO customers beware. The Hi Country Hiking Boot by Scam Artist Shoes is another disappointing product. I have no problem paying their prices if the bang for the buck was there. It isn't. The uppers have the appearance of a 1980's Pro Wing, but sadly don't measure up to that build quality. As other reviewers have pointed out, the top lace holes (instead of hooks) might be the dumbest move on a boot that I have ever seen. Check out the Topo Athletic Trailventure 2 WP for a less expensive, better built, more technical boot with a wide toe box.

See photos. I am disappointed to see the poor quality of the High Country-Y boot! The pair I received looks like something you would find on a shelf at a "factory seconds" discount shop (I paid full price, directly from SAS). The right boot has 2 significant manufacturer's defects. Most noticeably, upon arrival, the top inside upper was creased and collapsed. The outer sole of the right boot also has a gap where it meets the leather at 2 sections. With wear, this would unquestionably begin to separate even further. I have seen better craftmanship in shoes that cost half the price and that are made in China. But I am truly shocked at the lengths SAS goes to in order to gouge customers when they attempt to return defective merchandise. They charged $20 to send this junk to me. Because I am at an APO (US overseas military address) they are requiring me to return their defective boots back to them at my expense. And if I am lucky, these scammers will not charge me their $10 "restocking fee". It's really unreal, feels like it should be illegal.
