Not sure why J&M insists on using inexpensive laces that fray and break within a few weeks. Shoes are fantastic- Laces are a BIG hassle!!! They should ship every pair with three backup sets of laces.

After reading the reviews I was worried these would be a tight fit. Im a 13 and ordered a 13 because there arent any 1/2 sizes in the larger shoe size. Received them today and not only do they fit perfectly but the insoles are surprisingly extra comfortable. Very happy with them.

Ive been wearing my black full grain Braydon pair for 6 months. They are not as comfortable as most other JM shoes Ive bought. In fact, my feet are sore after wearing them all day. Sizing is fine. My other complaint is cleaning. Ive used the sponge I bought at the JM store and even tried shoe polish. They always look dull a couple hours later, and thats just wearing at the office.

I own 4 pair of J&M dress shoes in various colors. While 1 pair is a bit snug the other 3 fit properly. These shoes are so undersized, I could barely squeeze my foot into them. Very disappointed as they look very nice.

Comfortable - good for lots of walking around conferences and being on your feet. Can dress up to business casual (probably not a good shoe for suit or other formal dress clothes). Equally good looking with jeans or khakis.
Regarding sizing: These fit consistent with my other shoes - not sure where the other reviews are finding a different experience. I've been fortunate that 9.5 in every single shoe they produce fits me. I have had only a single encounter of sizing being off, and it seems like it was perhaps a bad run of production, as I bought another of the same pair later that fit just fine.

Bought mine in CLE airport storefront and I am happy with spongy fit. As a coat and tie professional I am not sure these would compliment a suit... like the dweebs on TV news. I thought they were leather when I bought them but they don't take a Lexol conditioner shine like most shoes. Neither the shoe tongue or this website states "leather" anywhere. Thats ok...this time!

1st time buying J&M. Absolutely awful comfort level. Hard as rocks. Put nice insole in and barely helps. Do not buy these.

I purchased these shoes and the fit was terrible. All of my other J&M shoes fit true to size but this fit was terrible and after several months of trying - I still can wear these shoes for any length of time. Will probably just get rid of them with hardly any wear time.

I literary only received the left shoe only. Are they running any kind of quality control? I would have though for $135 dollars I would get the left and right shoe. Maybe there selling shoe by the left and right separated. Returned the shoes becasue I don't trust incompetence.

I have JM shoes for work, church and casual. Great shoes. I ordered Braydon black in the size my other shoes from JM are, and they arrived today. My guess is these were tried on before me with the same results: too small. My feet were tight in there. My first purchase I was disappointed in. Shoes look good too, and I was looking forward to wearing them. I need to get a larger size, but not sure how that will turnout. Im bummed about the shoes. Id recommend ordering a size larger for this particular shoe. Id also recommend JM match sizing with their other shoes for consistency in quality and size. Thanks.

I have the Upton so i bought these. They are very uncomfortable. I can only wear them for a short time before my feet start hurting. Right shoe is way tighter than the left, almost like its a 1/2 size off. I would by another Braydon pair but not these.

I am a huge J&M fan. I find it difficult to find shoes that fit me and properly support my feet. I took a chance on the Trufoam form factor and I really like the way they support my feet. It's sort of spongy but doesn't go weak in the toe support like a lot of shoes tend to do. The gray color is unusual as well and the burnished toe and heel look pretty cool. It's a sharp-looking shoe and goes well with jeans - a casual shoe for me. I have narrow feet but it seems most all of the "M" width shoes these guys produce tend to work for me. I've been a 30 year customer; J&M has delivered for me and I'll keep comong back.

I'm religiously a 10.5 my whole like and with JM historically. Just got mine and they're way too tight. Gotta return for an 11.

Johnston & Murphy has changed their designs in a bad way this year. Hubby has a pair of their shoes that he loved from last year, and it was time to replace. The customizable insoles are gone and no longer offered, which is a silly move from this retailer. The new styles all have a VERY narrow toe box across the foot, and from bottom of the sole to the top of the shoe too. We bought a different J&M pair that he's been wearing for a couple of months, and the toe box actually presses down so hard on his toes that it caused a bruise under Hubby's toenail. We tried this pair in the hopes that they would be different. They are not. We returned and are going with a different brand altogether. Do better, Johnston & Murphy - if it's not broken, don't "fix" it. Thank you for the great return policy, Zappos!

Shoe offer an outstanding confort and prive a very casual look. My concern is with the appearance during uses. It requires to clean them very often, with a single use, scratches are highly noticeable giving the wrong impression about personal care to shoes. I love them, however this disappoint me.

I really like the shoes, but the leather seems to crack and develop noticeable lines, almost as if it's too dry.

When I went to place the right boot on, the pull loop tore away with the leather it was sewn to. No what I expected or hoped from the product. Returned through the very easy process and friendly customer support associate. Awaiting my refund. Disappointed in Tennessee. Go VOLS
