I've been die hard Vans guy since the 90's, but became disappointed when Vans stopped making those style shoes anymore. All they make are the old school ones with the terrible soles. I tried to like them but they just aren't the same. The MTE series are a very cool thing Vans has done. They have taken traditional Vans and crossed them with Hiking boots. They are very well made and love them. Great for hiking and winter. I highly recommend, they are sturdy and stylish. They look like regular Vans but are heavy duty and solid like Hiking shoes or boots.

These shoes are really good to have when it's raining! They can be a little uncomfortable after a long time, but overall they're very nice!

When I bought my first pair of Sk8-Hi MTE-2s a few years back I thought they were the best shoes that VANS had come out with in years. I still think that. I own 7 pairs.
I loved them so much I wanted to stock up because I know what sometimes happens to VANS that I like......they change for the worse. Enter the pair of MTE-2s that I bought recently.
They look the same but they are not the same. All the MTE-2s I've bought before were comfortable right out of the box. The new MTE-2s are not.
Too tight in the area just behind my toes. Too bad.

Fit is ok. I can not wear these for long periods at a time as the soles are not very comfortable. I can feel the tread pattern through the sole. There does not seem to be much cushion or padding in the soles.

They were way too big, at first glance I thought "maybe they are just bulky" nope! Excuse my chubby feet in the pic.

Bought mine in march, and wore a hole through the bottom in 8 months. They don't really last long in typical vans fashion. Worth it on sale

I wore these shoes out in a year. The insides started to wear down on the heel, making me squeaky when I walked. Then after man a walk in the rain the soles began to separate. AWESOME shoe, but definitely not worth the more than $120...

The shoe is decent. Really comfortable and truly weather proof. Something is up with the sole of one of my shoes, it pops and has gotten a little better but hasn't gone away yet and I've worn them quite a bit already. They look really cool and the concept of the shoe-boot MTE style is really awesome to have. I enjoy the shoe, but if I got another I'd probably try to buy in-store until they figure out how to get rid of OnTrac.

I bought into the hype from the other reviews, and at first I really enjoyed them. Pretty comfortable and cozy, and not as intense looking as other hiking shoes. But living in the southeast the most important aspect to me is that they're meant to be waterproof. Well, less than one year later and neither shoe is waterproof anymore. If I walk through soggy or damp grass, the heels of my socks are getting wet. If you're looking for quality and durability, go elsewhere.

I bought these trusting the waterproof MTE marketing, but they're not. Every time I wear my MTE-2 out in snow or any moisture on the ground the moisture somehow soaks into the soles, maybe from around the leather and rubber connection. Point being me feet are always wet and then I need to wash them otherwise they stink. Don't buy if you want dry feet.

They reduced them even more by another 10% off it was on sale $30 off then 40% off the next day I was pretty upset that they switched up like that and I ended up buying another pair at that 40% off price - kinda sucks sometimes when they don't honor just one price that it just keeps changing

I bought MTE Vans a few years ago. Im normally a 9.5 but needed a 10. This time around the 10 is ENORMOUS and look like clown shoes. Don't like the All-Trac letters on white rubber sole.

The soles are already falling apart after 6 months, no longer waterproof or good for outdoors. Not the same quality they used to be

Was hoping to love and wear and continue to buy this model. I had them for about 9 months. The sole failed!
This is the second time this occurred.

Tried on a few different shoes and they all fit different. I usually wear size 10 ordered.size 10 doesn't fit.

I bought these shoes with the intention of wearing them on a daily basis, but unfortunately, they fell apart the same week I purchased them. I attempted to return them, but they refused to accept the shoes. Needless to say, I am thoroughly disappointed. I was expecting a durable and sturdy boot, but instead, I got the opposite. I love Vans, but I won't repurchase the MTE boot again.

I wore my MTE 2 shoes for the first time today and the toe box ripped for no reason. My other pair were fine but these just seem cheap.
