I wish the color was a little darker in line with the hedgehog 2 series, but overall this is a great shoe. Very sturdy and dependable. Thank you.

Love the hedgehogs. A great shoe for hiking and walking. They are sterdy and well made.

I have several pairs of the Hedgehog shoes over the years. This new version is incredibly hot and not breathable. My feet were sweating. This new version will make me look elsewhere.

I was looking for a replacement for the original low hedgehog waterproof hikers. Alas, I waited too long missed out on getting the classic coffee brown hedgehog II shoes and with my size was stuck having to choose among the two new colors (TNF black is what it is, and is ok for streetwear I guess, but doesn't fit as a hiking shoe). Not sure what audience North Face was looking for with their color changes, but the "taupe green" and "utility brown" seem to a The North Face attempt to appeal to the "tactical" cosplay crowd. In any case, I got the "taupe green" as being the lesser of two evils for what I was looking for --- Othwerise, the fit and feel is like welcoming an old friend - though it's TBD whether the less aggressive tread pattern on the 3 vs original will be a plus or a minus. Comfortable right out of the box.
Just down a style point for whoever at The North Face is choosing their colors now.

I use this product everyday for casual walking. I gave this a 4 star rating because unlike other top dollar shoes, this shoe did require some breaking in time. I got sore feet the first month of use. It is starting to feel better and more comfortable the more I use it. It is a nice looking shoe.

true to size and still a fairly wide shoe for wider feet customers. Pretty comfortable. The soles I was not impressed with. Very little traction on these and come like they're already half worn down. The notch in the back of the shoe which is usually cut out to go around the Achilles' tendon is almost non-existent so it does cause some pressure back there on longer walks. I would not consider this a hiking shoe at all more of a nice looking nature walk shoe.

Sometimes off-road, but mostly on paved surfaces. North Face Shoe has been my waalking/hiking shoe of choice for the last 10 years.I walk six to 10 miles everyday. i go through a pair of shoes, regardless of brand about every 4 to 6 months. I prefer the Vector/fastpack super light for most of my walking/hiking, but rely on the Hedgehog waterproof for wet conditions. The Vector is slightly more comfortable overall especially on long walks, but the hedgehog is great in adverse weather.

Today first time wearing them. This morning when I arrived the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid there were a couple of inches of fresh snow. I found the shoes not to grip the snow well and slippery. Not sure if they are vibram soles but as noted surprisingly slippery. They are comfortable however would not recommend wearing them in snow.

Shoes were not what I expected from North Face. They seemed stiff. The fit was fine, but the shoes were uncomfortable.

I would love to keep these but they are a little bit short in the toes and the shoe laces are not adjustable. I have arthritis and plantar facscitis and these were too loose at the ankle and had no extra holes for adjustment. I love the soles on them for walking on rocks.

They have a seam right along the back of the heel that just rubs and turns my heels into a mess every time I tried to hike in them

Well I'm glad Northface is including wide options again . This style was good and looked good as well yet for some reason not only wide but in length 1/2 bigger . Had to return them since they did not have 1/2's

I was hoping to replace my Hedgehog originals, but something about this new version didn't cut it, so I ended up returning it. I think it's quite lightweight and super breathable, but I was looking for something more rugged.

I have to be honest. I am used to the ultra series north face and these do not really add up. Hard on the bottom and actually hurt my feet a little. Would probably return them if I hadn't already worn them outside too much.

Great looking shoe. Bummed because I had to return because of width issues. NF please bring back the wider version of the hedgehog.

I feel it my obligation to report that after less than a year, my feet got totally wet in wearing in light misty rain for a couple hours and walking on pavement in the city, no puddles. Total fail by DryVent. This after owning over 10 pair of Northface Hedgehog and Ultras. The switch to DryVent instead of Goretex was a huge mistake. I will never again buy a shoe with DryVent.

not the shoe it used to be, the size was much smaller and it's labeled wide but its not. Both my large toe and small toe rub hard and I normally wear a smaller 10.5, The shape and materials are not the higher quality that it was in the past, mind you I've purchased the same shoe or as close as I can with availability for the past 15 years. Time to find a new favorite.

I have bought 6 or 7 pairs of Hedgehogs in the past, and this will be my last, ever. Matter of fact, I am done with North Face after this one, and all the stuff I've bought recently. These fell apart on me, starting where they crease in less than one season. Terrible choice of materials. Poor construction. Yet same expensive price! I have old Hedgehogs from the original design that are still kicking after stitching them back up. Not these! Planned obsolescence, if you ask me.

Very disappointed with my order Zappos sent two different width shoes; one medium and one wide. I ordered a pair of 10 wide Hedgehogs. The label on the tongue of the shoes were not marked with a ‘W’ to indicate they are wide width. I noticed the product number was different for each shoe. In my attempt to reorder, I discovered Zappos did not have any 10 wide Hedgehog shoes in stock so I could not replace the original shoes.

Like another user said: these shoes do not breath at all. It is my first and last pair of north face shoes. Never had this problem with my Merrell.
