The other reviews are true about wide heel. I also had a defective zipper. But what bothered me the most is the shades of black on the rubber and fabric not matching.

I really haven't worn these boots very much this winter, and the seam has split open in the back. Other than that, I would be happy with them.

Trotters Berry Mid boots is super comfortable directly from the box. That said my heel slipped a bit nonetheless thick socks fixed the problem. I ordered my normal size and width. I have ordered two pairs and sad to say I returned both defective. Bummer had I not sent them back I would have a pair. Let me explain. One pair the stitching on one heel started unraveling, I returned them defective. Zappos excellent customer service I had another pair of same boots within two weeks. Bummer the second pair stitching started unraveling, the other foot that time. So you see between the two pairs, I could have had a good pair. They were not too casual and not too dressy, super comfortable, waterproof and good traction.

The heel in these boots is too loose because there is a problem with the design: the ankle and calf is too wide. When walking, you feel if you were walking with a flip flop. There is too much room around the calf; it feels unconfortable. I dislike to return things, but in this case I had to do it.

These simply looked and felt cheap. The fit was fine, but they look like some discounted bargain bin boots, and the material feels cheap. While I realize finding snow boots that look stylish is a challenge, these felt especially matronly. Had to return.

Unfortunately the material on the outside of a very similar Trotter boot I bought started falling apart and cracking, must be very cheap material to do that. I will never buy a Trotter boot again, even though it is a good looking comfortable boot.

Given all the previous remarks on the disproportionally large heel/ankle, I'm shocked this item is still being sold. It is a clumpy, unwearable boot!
