love the overall look and style of the elixir but upon wearing for a week it was uncomfortable. at first i thought maybe I just needed to break them in but even after several wears, it was more and more uncomfortable each day. i tried taking out the insole but did not help either. i even tried replacing it with a thinner insole but that did not help. overall, the fit is horrible and the toe box designed poorly, or perhaps meant for narrow feet!

I did not want this shoe, for several reasons that are not really important. What is important to me is the delivery of the product and eventually its return. It takes forever. For a shoe that cost on average usd 150 the "Free Shipping" is awful !!! Better to buy from any other seller that offer real free shipping and real return .

I really tried to like these shoes. Really tried. Bought them for a trip out west to do some desert and mountain treks and general walking around. Halfway through I switched back to my worn out Merrells. For the price the Salomons should have carried me effortlessly through hill and dale. Instead my feet never felt comfortable, the shoes hot and crampy. Plus the soles are so darn thick I had to alter my gait to keep from scuffing the ground with each step. I hiked 12 miles over a variety of trails to give them a fair trial. Unfortunately theyll be relegated to expensive gardening shoes when I finish my vacation.

Have two pairs, had and have worn regularly for about two months. Find them to be very comfortable and supportive. Thus far the durability looks fine. I have had an issue that they "click" when walking indoors on solid floors.

At first, I was happy with my purchase of this shoe because of how comfortable it is. But two days ago, I went on a 7-mile hike and these shoes did not protect me from water as advertised. My feet and socks were completely drenched afterward. At the moment, the shoes are STILL wet and cold to the touch... I don't know when I can wear them again. Another downside to this shoe is that the laces come undone rather easily. If you don't tie a double-knot, prepare to redo the laces multiple times during a walk.

Bought these to hike the hills of the local disc golf course. They started falling apart after 3 months. Applied for warranty replacement and was denied. They told me these weren't made for disc golf and just for lite hiking. My Hey Dudes held up fine to disc golf before I started playing this particular course. Hey dudes didn't support my feet for the hike though. Wouldn't suggest these shoes. Also Wouldn't suggest Solomon as they don't stand behind their product.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Arizona for some hiking. Well, they looked great, felt great on my feet, and had some pretty good grip at the start. However, things took a turn about 5 miles in, for some reason, the soul basically started shredding itself and is now almost sharp to the touch. The shoes are basically ruined after one 10 mile hike. I dont know, I expected the be more durable and hold up better than that i want to like the shoes cause they look good in my opinion, however after this experience i think i will look elsewhere for my hiking needs

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)

Poor SupportGreat Support
Fit is good overall and good support/wrap around the ankle to provide stability for side-to-side ankle movement. The thing that made me return these is the weird hump in the center of the shoe (the arch area) which makes you feel like you are rolling your foot over a slight bump when you walk. You can see it in the pictures of the shoe, but I didn't think it would be that prominent in terms of affecting your stride. It does, it feels weird, so they went back.

I really wanted to love this shoe and if it wasnt so narrow with no give, I would give it 5 stars. It is built like a tank and super waterproof, but over the 30 day trial, it just was not wide enough and would pinch on the midfoot. Was hoping it would stretch over time, but they are synthetic, so no luck. Traction is great, protection on rocks is nice and the camber while walking makes for a pleasant hike.
