Great all-around walking shoe. Very comfortable right out of the box. Salomons in general fit my long slender foot well but still provide enough wiggle room for my toes. Not sure why there are two lugs coming out of the front of the shoe, seems like a silly detail but not enough to bother me. Can't speak to the arch support because I use a custom orthotic, but I appreciate the fact that the original insole is removeable. The soles are quiet.

I bought this model again after wearing my first pair for countless miles through hikes, walks, and exploring places overseas. Salomon=quality in my book. Everything is super solid, crafted for performance, durable, and comfortable.

This is the second pair I've purchased. I LOVE Salomon shoes!! This style in particular is extremely comfortable. I love that is a bit wider the the average regular (not wide) shoe. I wish it had just a bit more support on the inside, but that's easily fixable with purchasing insoles. I highly recommend Salomon shoes in general, but especially the Alphacross.

Got as a gift - These are not available to purchase in South Korea where Hiking is very popular. So light and comfy! I loved them so much I got another pair in black. They are the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever worn and cant say enough good things about them.

Love those, very comfortable ! I mostly go hiking/trail running, so far so good, no issues! I discovered that Salomon shoes sizes run rather high, I normally wear 9.5, Salomons i wear 8.5 & fit perfect. Have not tried in the rainy conditions

I wore these on the 20 km Tongariro Alpine Crossing day walk. I encountered hard pack, gravel, mud, slush, snow and scree and only slipped once. The shoes are a half size larger than my normal so I can wear two socks on each foot. My companions, in competitors hiking boots, complained about their feet but mine never hurt. I do not run in these but I highly recommend them for hiking.

I think Solomon is a great company. I ordered in my usual size, but found that my heel slipped and my foot then went forward. even trying several different weights of socks. There was plenty of space in the toe box, but even tightly laced, my foot was not securely held. Made me very sad!

The shoelace eyelets are so narrow on this shoe its impossible to cinch down into a solid grin around your foot. The shoe tends to slip and rotate around my foot on uneven terrain making it very dangerous on rock scrambles and trail running. Would not recommend. I love the style and its really comfortable but I wish the eyelets were more reinforced or wider so they would be at least functional for what I bought them for. Its really a bummer.
