Customer Reviews Salomon Elixir Mid GORE-TEX®

I wanted to love these boots after seeing the reviews but after hiking in them (multiple hikes) they gave me blisters every time and are very uncomfortable for hiking long distances. I called to see if there was anything I could do since Ive always loved Salomon. At first I was satisfied when they told me they would give me a coupon for a new pair (totally fair since I had worn them multiple times) but then they went back on their word and refused to honor their offer (even though the call was recorded). I just bought a new pair (different brand) at REI and they said theyd take returns up to a year even if they are worn multiple times. Wont ever buy this brand again.

These boots were very supportive and comfortable! They were comfortable to walk in right away. I was relieved because I did not leave any time to break them in.

I typically wear a size 8 but these were way too big! I tried to wear thicker hiking socks but still found that there was too much room and my toes were jamming into the front while descending hikes. I wish exchanges for gear like this were accepted after use! Grrrr.

The Elixir is a good boot, creating a comfortable hiking experience. I've had no problems with slips, or ankle support. The toe box is slightly narrower than other Salomon hiking boots, so I would recommend half sizing up.

These are a great lightweight hiking boot. I have usually steered away from hiking boots because they are too heavy but these dont feel like typical hiking boots. They provide great support and are comfortable to wear all day. My feet felt great and the cushioning was perfect !

Ive been using these shoes on long hike distances. Early season brought varied conditions and Im impressed with how they hold up! Dry socks, warm, solid footbed and grippy tread. I cant recommend these enough for people looking for a long distance hiker.
