I have loved altra for years but have become more disappointed by the quality. For the price I exepct more miles for the shoes! I would recommend but with a caviet on quality.

Okay, so I love these shoes! I'm on my second pair and about to purchase my third (or the model that replaced it I guess.)I love the wide toe box, the snug but comfy heel cup that doesn't allow any slipping around. I even love that the laces stay tied without double tying them! But they get dirtier than any other shoe I've ever run in! My trail shoes don't even get this dirty usually! This pair has 203 miles on them. I have used them exclusively on roads, sidewalks, and paved bike paths. I wear them exclusively for running. My first pair was the gray pair and they did the same thing. It won't stop me from buying another pair, but if you guys read these reviews, I would love to see a different material for the upper. It's not a huge deal, but I do like to donate my running shoes after and generally a pair of shoes used exclusively to run 300 miles still looks plenty enough nice to donate. These, not so much.

I needed an all black shoe for work as my shoes get super dirty and I walk ALL day. When I opened the box at first I'm like "this is black?" It's more of a "blueish black". I've been wearing them for about a month and they are still kind of stiff. Very natural in the toe box, so that is comfy!

Great for running. Did a lot research before buying and am happy with the purchase. In my opinion better than any hoka I've tried.

I really like everything about these shoes except the toe box. I purchase Altra for the anatomical toe box and it feels like these are far more narrow than my old Torins. Please offer original toe box on the newer models.

I use this shoe as a rotation in my shoes as I am trying to go zero drop. I have the black and they look crisp and match with all my outfits. The only issue I have is after having them a few months and and doing long runs in them I feel they need better cushion. Or I have just hit the max amount of mileage this type of shoe can withstand. Either way ordering another pair. I will say order a half size up (I normally wear a 6.5 in other brands. 6.5 or 7 in other Altras. Definitely try them on in person if you're hesitant on size.

First time buyer!!! I'm a nurse and in my feet most of the day! I normally wear HOKA bondi, have for years. I LOVE this shoe!! The only thing I have a complaint about is keeping them clean. I bought white and the material is impossible to keep white! I wish they were made of something that cleans easily.

This is a great shoe however the shoe gets dirty so fast and it isn't a material that is easy to clean. I've hardly worn these outdoors and even inside, they got dirty looking. Women want crisp, clean looking shoes. I have no idea who thinks there is a big market for women buying burnt orange color footwear. I would love to buy again but the current color choices and inability to clean the fabric discourages me I agree with other comment, we want a nice white that we can keep looking new. Overall, one of the most comfortable shoes I have run in. Perfect amount of cushioning. Please consider black sneaker with white soles like your other shoes and more colorsthat's what us ladies want!

Absolutely love these shoes. The only drawback is they are hard to clean and keep clean. They are cloth and light color so soil easily. Love everything else about them.

I've been using the ALTRAFWD as a training shoe for a marathon. I like it's airy feel, and that it doesn't weigh my feet down. Because the shoe was loose in the heel I had to double up the laces which made them too short. This has resulted in small knots which sometimes come undone when I'm running. The shoe also feels narrower than other Altras I've tried even though the size is labeled as wide. Overall I'd recommend this product, it just make take some time to break in.

I like these shoes. They are light weight and the color was as described. However, they feel a little snug, specifically in the toe area. I feel like the toe box is smaller than traditional altras (which is why I started wearing altras) and I also feel like the fabric doesn't stretch at all in the toe area.

I have purchased a few pairs of these but wish that Altra would come out with a low drop that doesn't feel so much like a boot on my feet. I really like the saucony sinister because they have an amazing lightweight feel. The FWD shoes are more like big shoes so I will wait things out to see what else comes along.

I really wanted these to work because I love the all-black sleek look. However, I usually wear an 8 in Lone Peak and 8.5 in Paradigms, and I ordered an 8.5 in these...but they were way too small. The shape is very different from my other Altras, so it felt like my toes were getting squished. The rocker bottom and very slight drop were great. I was looking for an alternative to my Lone Peaks which sometimes make me feel tired as I have plantar fasciitis (I use an orthotic). My Paradigms seem to be the best for my feet. Too bad the FWD Experience had a more contoured toe shape. I like the idea of a sleeker Altra but it didn't work for my toe shape. Otherwise the quality seemed very high.

I went up half size- lucky thing - wasn't sure at first of the inner heel padding- I had to put a different insole with extra arch support so my ankles quit rubbing on the inner padding- took a few weeks to break in- if order again will go up whole size

I've worn Topos for 10+ years but have been frustrated by the lack of longevity I've gotten from them. Took a chance on the Altrasand I'm in love. This is the most cushioning I've worn in ages and it's great. Awesome wide toe box (my bunions are sizable). Only criticism is that the cushioning in the heel is a bit much. Other than that, these are perfect!

Why do you keep putting out shoes in hideous colors?!?! Please get someone on your design team to poll real human women on what color running shoes they'd like to see. I want to like these so bad, but I can't with the terrible color schemes - as per usual.

I have had these about a week now and they are mostly good, but not for every day. I hesitated about buying these because they were not a slim. I feel like they might be a slim anyway. Somehow the toe area doesn't look huge in comparison to the rest of the shoe. The entire shoe and foot bed is very comfortable. Water resistant, worn on a very rainy day and my socks did not get wet. The colors are better, but I speculate there is not a woman in charge of the colors for women shoes. Not a fan of the 4 mm drop. The drop added pressure on my bunion, making it hurt for the first time in a long time.

The first thing that stood out to me upon unboxing is just how glaringly white they are. I know that's 'on trend' right now, but I just can't get over how quickly these will show how dirty they end up getting. On top of being less boring, more fun colors and patterns would make me feel more excited to wear the shoes. Moving on from the aesthetics, I love that the low drop encourages the natural position of the foot, and that the rocker shape feels like it gives me an extra oomph forward. They do fit a big snug, borderline too narrow, but I'm sure over time it will stretch to the perfect fit.

These Altra shoes were a nice change from my normal running shoes. They had a lot of room in the toe area and lots of cushion in the soles. They are very lightweight with plenty of support which a lot of other shoes I've tried lack. I took them right out of the box and had to try them out, they looked so cool. All in all, I would recommend these to others, the only thing I would change is maybe go up a half a size.

I like most everything about these shoes. The only reason i didn't give it five stars is because i had to buy insoles for them. The inside is too hard and doesnt offer enough cushion. Other than that one thing they are great.

This is a very cushioned sneaker from what I'm used to, which is Asics. I liked the feel of the shoe while running, I could still feel the ground even with all the extra cushion. I was not used to a shoe that has a little rocking to it, but it was easy to get used to. This made for a very comfortable run. Lots of shock absorbing cushion.

I took the women's Altra FWD Experience for a brisk walk to and from my yoga class (1.25 miles) and enjoyed the cushion barrier between my feet and the downtown asphalt. The left foot fit great, it was snug and not too tight. My right foot however must be a bit bigger because the shoe felt tight. I would size up to a 10 next time instead of the 9.5. I would recommend these shoes for commuters, daily walkers, and the 10,000+ step crew!
