These shoes are cute and comfy, weather I'm going for a run, a morning walk, or a hike. They're padded in all the right places and cushion my foot, which I've had a little trouble with ever since I broke three metatarsals a few years back. My feet are a little wide in the toe box and these accommodated me just fine. Their break in period was short and I love the color. I don't think I'll be going back to my old brand. I did receive these in exchange for leaving a review but these opinions are my own.

Thanks Altra for the free shoes!! I received these to review and was thrilled to get to try them out, as I need a wider toe box thanks to a Morton's neuroma. These are supportive and comfortable, and my toes have room!! The back of the heel needed a little breaking in (wore some higher socks for the first few wears, no big deal). I loved the Torin 6s before but the Paradigms are my new favorite.

What can I say about these lovely shoes, when I am out for a run, it feels like I am running barefoot on clouds! These shoes are great for my daily early am jogs. They look and feel nice, my only issue is that they were true to size.

As someone with major medical issues but still determined to run, I always look for the best running shoes. The best for support, the best for stability, the best for comfort. The Altra Paradigm 7 checks all these boxes and a few I didn't even know that should be on my list. Right out of the box I could tell these were not just another basic running shoe. They are extremely lightweight. The next difference from the average running shoe I observed is the noticeable more square toe box. As someone with feet that aren't wide but whose toes don't "angle in to the point" I couldn't wait to slide my feet into them.
Lacing them up I could already feel the cushion the entire length of the shoe is had great impact absorption without being bulky. After a bit of stretching it was time for the true test and putting some miles on them. I had only planned on a mile run to break them in and see how my body responded to a different shoe system than it was use to. After just a few minutes into the run I knew I had found my new favorite running shoes. They were very stable without sacrificing flexibility, the impact absorption was fantastic with no added bulk or weight. The shoe itself was responsive in movement. Before I had knew it I had traveled about 3 miles! With a total knee replacement, titanium rods supporting half of my spine and a fusion plate in my neck I can tell you I usually am aware of every step passed a mile! So my planned mile turned into a 10k and I was OK with that!
The only issue I had with the shoe was the laces did not stay tied very well without having to double knot them. The only concern I have with the shoes is how many colors can I get them in before my husband realizes my running shoe collection had doubled.

I received this complimentary from BzzAgent for my honest review. I love the color baby blue w yellow. The size 9 was true to size. The cushion support is what I love most. I have over probated feet, and these help relieve the pressure of how I normally walk on a daily basis. I definitely would recommend this to anyone

Pretty comfortable and there wasn't too much of a wear in period. Feet when running were not sore. Like I have experienced in shoes before. The fit was great and during running it felt like there was enough stability. I'm hoping these will last awhile. Got a pair free but all comments are my own.

Amazing shoe, offering maximum cushioning and comfort! Has become my go-to shoe for walking and running! The midsole provides protection for longer use and offers stability! The shoe is built strong and fits great!

These shoes are soooooo comfortable! The arch support is great, it's light weight, and love that it helps with pronation. I like the color choice on the new 7 vs the 6. I am not going to lie, these are not my favorite looking shoes, but I walk a lot and can make my peace with it. These are the most comfortable shoe I've owned since Ahnu got absorbed into Teva. As usual, Zappos processed my order and it was delivered in good shape.

These shoes are incredible ! I always struggle to find shoes that feel supportive but also very cushiony. These are it! I love how the toe box is wider so that I have more space. They are so springy and bouncy, I feel like I can run or walk for days without issues. I suffer from chronic pain, so it's very hard to find shoes I rave about. I've already told so many people about how comfortable these are! The color is great too! I'm so happy woth these sneakers! Thanks for the opportunity test them!!

I found that this shoe has too much stability for me for running, but I love to use them for walking around daily and the occasional run.

I am a runner - just not a fast one! I have worn the Altra Provision for several years - really, really, like them. However, it was difficult to find my size this time so I went with the Paradigm 7.
I expected it to be more "cushy" as that seemed to be its claim to fame. I don't really feel that but it seems to compare with the Provision so no complaints from me. Others may see a bigger difference between the two.
I say the jury is still out because these shoes do have a different "feel" - they seem a bit stiffer and not as comfortable in the toe box. Perhaps I just need to wear them longer and break them in more - right now I am alternating between the Provision and Paradigm. I have a run in April and this morning my thoughts were that I would save the Provisions for that run as they seem more friendly to my feet. That could change as I wear the Paradigm more frequently between now and April.
I love my Altras though and I have recommended them to a few people and they, too, have become faithful Altra runners!

I like these shoes well enough, but I don't love them. My first pair of Altras were the Lone Peak with the full-width toe box, and I love them. I was hoping to find a road shoe to love just as much. The Paradigms don't have the full-width toe box, and they feel just a tad narrow in the midfoot as well. The cushion is nice in these shoes though - I would love a road running shoe with the full-width toe box and a little more cushion than the Escalante. I tried the Escalante, and it just didn't feel right on my foot. Overall, the Paradigms are well-made shoes that are good enough - I've ended up using them as walking shoes.

This shoe in "black" is not black! It is a dark navy. Also, as with many other ALTRA brand shoes, because it is a more natural foot fit, the toe box is very wide. The shoe is not stylish per se. It is kind of boxy. It fits true to size. I am returning it because it is not black.

ALTRA gave me this Paradigm 8 to try and they have quickly found a spot in my running shoe rotation. I liked them so much that I actually wore them to work a few days, over my normal footwear.
Fit - I felt that these ran a tad smaller than the lone peak 5, but overall they fit well right out of the box! The toe box is roomy & the heel feels secure. There's plenty of cushioning (both in the upper material and the midsole) to make them feel like clouds.
Durability - I've put roughly 30 miles on these shoes & there's no noticeable wear at any spot on the shoe. I've primarily used these on paved roads/side walks, but they've also put a little bit of time on packed gravel.
Performance - The longest run I did in these was 6 miles; my feet felt great afterwards. The midsole was plush throughout the whole run & the stability rail really helped with my over pronation, without being noticeable.
If you're looking for a stable, plush, zero-drop shoe to take on pavement and hard pack gravel, I'd recommend this!

They are a good shoe but for someone with feet issues they just don't work for me standing 12 hours a day.

I really like the wide toe box! It takes some getting used to on the zero drop. I have some supination, so time will tell whether these shoes wear down on the outside heel. Right now, they are my go to shoe.

I use these for daily wear and for walking. I don't like the look, the color choices, or the comfort as well as the Paradigm 6. The shoe looks longer and feels flatter. I usually wear a 9.5 in sneakers and I bought a 10 in this shoe, and it's a good fit. I would buy these again but wish they were more like the 6.

These aren't as cushioned as the P6 but they still work for me. My other, slightly minor issue, is that I ordered these in black. Everything about them says they are black but in reality they are a dark green.

I bought these for my husband whose feet have been hurting him. He finds these to be very comfortable and they are now his favorite shoe. He has a wide shoe and needs a large toe box and a large size (13).

I love the wider toe box, but feel I am in between sizes. I bought the 9 1/2 and the 9, kept the 9 1/2.
