Runs and fits big. Not as warm as expected

I own a lot of North Face products and always wear size Large. This jacket was much smaller than usual. It was tight all around. The arm holes were also small so when I raised my arms at all the jacket rode up on my waist. Snug in the chest, and short, too. The fabric is nice, with a smooth texture on the outside and fleece on the inside. It has very limited stretch. I was looking forward to the wind and water resistance. I've worn a similar jacket from the other guys for the last 7 years and was hoping to this one to replace it. The weight is great for cool days and even winter use with an under-layer. I'll be returning it and likely won't reorder a larger size because I don't think that will resolve the problem of it riding up when raising my arms. I'll still recommend it because the problems could just be related to my body type. But if you're planning to wear more than a light shirt under it, consider going up a size.

Purchased for my adult son's birthday. He is very tall and this fit him great and it's a perfect weight for fall and early winter weather

This is my second shell jacket of this type from the North Face. I like the fact that this jacket is a bit longer than the previous jack that I owned. It has a more modern look to it. It is great in wet weather and does a great job of keeping moisture away from my clothing. I wish that the jacket had cinches on the ends of the sleeves to make the fit tight around the wrists. I also would have preferred an embroidered North Face logo instead of the imprinted logo.

Good material but a bit too long

The sleeves were slightly long. However, I think a medium wouldn't have been the right fit I was looking for. This jacket is working well as something I use each day. It is very comfortable. I used it outdoors for an extended period of time this weekend. The conditions were quite windy and cold. The jacket did a good job. I did feel some penetration from the wind. Next time, I will wear another layer underneath. I would recommend waiting for a discount on this item before buying.

Very light and comfortable

It would be nice to have some colors than black, shades of gray and I don't like tan. Options are getting boring.

A little stiff, a bit large, but seems very wind and water resistant. I'm 5'11", 180 lbs, with a 38" chest, and the medium size gives me the perfect "fitted" look with the sleeves long enough (my arms are normal length.) The large on me was just too loose-fitting, but generous enough for a sweater underneath, which I cannot do with the medium.

Ordered for my son. He likes it and it will replace his old bionic he has had for years. It's a bit stiff tho and the fabric is rougher than before? I probably wouldn't wear it myself but he already took off in it, so there's that!

I use it for all weather wear. Currently in Northern Europe. I'm a large however this jacket is very tight around the shoulders and hard to Maneuver in. Solid construction

I liked the product but it was too large. If I could exchange online I would have just swapped for a smaller size.

I love the Apex Bionic Jacket. It's the perfect midweight jacket, very versatile (you can layer underneath, or over with a larger parka for very cold weather), and rain proof. I've been buying the updated version of this jacket in both vest and jacket of the past 15 years. I've only changed because of changing in my personal sizing, and to have more colors. you could easily have this jacket for 10+ years.

Nice but expensive

The wind resistance is great at keeping you warm on a brisk windy day.

My husband had this same style of jacket for 20 years. His old jacket just kicked the bucket and I went scouring The North Face's website to find his jacket again. This is an updated version of his old one. He really likes it. The jacket style has gotten a little longer and it hits him on his hips is lower than his older jacket but over all he really likes it. It's a practical jacket but looks sharp enough he can wear it to work over his dressier attire without feeling out of place. It is a great quality jacket and he really loves the color. It's hard to compete with a jacket he had for 20 years that he loved and refused to let go of until it was literally falling apart but I think given time he will fall in love with this one just like he did the last.

Love the fit and feel but they run a little short in the sleeves. So if you're going for the size that fits you, I would suggest going a size up to be on the safe side

Nice jacket, warm, lightweight, waterproof, stylish. My only complaint is it's awkwardly long. Maybe if your really tall it's fine. But when you sit down to get back up feels weird, and looks long.

I love this color. Use it as my daily coat for anywhere I go.

I would highly recommend this jacket. It is sleek, well-fitting, comfortable, and worth the purchase. One of the things I love about this jacket is that it is not bulky. Yet, it has an outside shell with an insulated interior. While I live in the Carolinas, I brought the jacket with me on my trip to MI with temperatures in the 30's-50's. This jacket's shell provided a lot of protection from the wind and cold. Very glad I purchased this!

I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband he has never had a North Face before. He opened it - tried it on and loved it. Wore it to dinner that night ! Collar was just right height and fit fantastic he said!
