I've been really impressed with my Merino wool hoodie. It's a solid piece of clothing with no downsides that I can find. The fit is great, and it's incredibly comfortable to wear. What stands out the most is its odor-resistance, even after several wears & keeping me warm even when it's wet. I use it as a base layer or mid layer over a merino wool tee. An absolute must for multi day treks

Over the last few weeks this has become my new favourite piece of clothing. Old school Arc'teryx quality to detail and thoughtful design towards a piece of outdoor apparel. I've been worried lately to see the trend towards more street style cuts and styles from my favourite brand; this shirt restores my faith that Arc'teryx remains an outfitter to those who spend most of their time in the mountains. I wish the forage colour was available, I'd grab that in a heartbeat! Love the earthy colours better than the others.

Great hoody that in warmer weather I used as sun protection and wasn't too hot. In colder weather it served as a nice mid layer. I used this on a hike of mt Fuji where it was humid and hot on the bottom and cold at the top. One feature I really appreciate is that the hood isn't loose, and hugs your head, so it doesn't fall down if you start moving faster or encounter wind.

Was looking for a long sleeve hoody to protect me from sun and colder hiking temps and found the greatest one in the Alana merino one.

Very happy to see some natural wool options from Arcteryx. This is an excellent hoody. Comfortable, great fit. It seems to be excellent for active fall weather so far. I'm hoping it can be a year round peice. It should he a great layer for winter. And good sun protection for summer. Very functional hood with good coverage.

I wear this hiking, walking, skiing and as a base layer. The feel and look is great. I'm 6'3" 190lbs and the medium is perfect.

Bought this at the beginning of summer and it's my go to for most weathers, it can be worn as a lightweight top layer or as part of multiple layers for cooler temps, also the hood keeps the sun off you. Highly recommended!

This top is perfect. The material was my priority as I live in the PNW, and merino makes life warmer and dry. This top fits true to size. I buy large in most tops with other Mfg's and the Large with ARCTERYX was perfect size. Has a little stretch, but fits slim. The neck on the hood has enough length to pull up onto face easy and provides good coverage. I could live in this garment. It's my go to! My favorite

First impression: silk on your skin. The internal construction is perfect, no frictions on the skin. Super warm. Design: casual and for sport. Fit: very slim, however I would not recommend to oversize. Got both the Iona versions, but I love the hoody.

Bought this to use as a sun hoody. I prefer wool over synthetic and after using Icebreaker Oasis 200s all the time this will be my new baselayer of choice. I wear a Large in both tops and this one is a tiny bit looser but that's preferable as a sun hoody anyway. Dries really fast, soft feel and gave me full protection from the sun and bugs while hiking and camping in Scotland.

I recently bought this hoodie and I LOVE it . It is excellent for warmer weather and still keeps me relatively warm when in mild temps. I love to wear this hoodie in the hotter weather as it is incredibly breathable . It fits great with a slim cut to it and looks great on me . I own multiple arcteryx products and this one is easily my favorite .

Bought this item for a 15 day trip to Nepal earlier this year. Despite wearing the item for multiple straight days in a wide variety of temperatures (-5 /+20c) the hoody performed perfectly, never felt clammy or sweaty, and most importantly smelt as fresh as the first day I put it on. It's quite a large fit and has a long torso section, so that's something to bear in mind. Dropped hem stops it rising up with a backpack, but if you're of short torso it may be too long. Simple solution is to tuck it into your trousers. Fit, quality and minimal feature set is perfect for its intended usage. (Multi day trekking, long day hikes.) I've since worn the item in cold temperatures in the UK (sub 0c) and the temperature regulation is simply unmatched by any other baselayer I've tried. The only season I wouldn't recommend the item for is summer, simply because the Cormac hoody is UPF50 and is available in white so works better in direct sunlight. Highly recommended 3 season piece, bettered only by the Cormac for summertime.

Sun shirts seem to standard issue in the mountains. The trouble was, the synthetic materials really clash with many people's body chemistry (mine included) which would make them sink really bad only a few hours into their use. This wool version is both light and comfortable on a hot glacier, provides sun protection, and fights odor. It's my new favorite piece.

This is going to be a four-season staple for me. It's incredibly soft and quite light. The weight is perfect for chilly morning mountain runs, or as a baselayer while snowboarding.

I wore my hoodie today with 20 degree temperatures and howling winds! I used it as my mid layer and didn't get cold, as I was in the elements of 5 hours! It was nice that the hood fit over my helmet!

Fit and cut are beautiful -- maybe a bit more form fitting than is 100% practical if you need to get a baselayer under it, but perfect for California spring/summer backpacking, and looks great as casual wear. It's very soft, very stink-resistant, and while this probably isn't the top concern for a lot of backpacking users, the color (I bought it in green) is rich and really beautiful. My ideal version of this garment would have a bit more room in the hood: keep the high neck, but the tighter, less monk's-cowl look around the head, while more fashionable (and not so tight that it precludes wearing a cap) does leave more of my cheeks exposed to the sun. I'd gladly accept a bit of unfashionable floppiness around the sides for better sunburn protection. The lack of thumb loops is a bit of a downside for me as well, but to be fair I knew that going in, and there are probably many users for whom it doesn't matter anyway. On balance I'm very satisfied with the quality and fit, and what complaints I do have are more idiosyncratic preferences than objective problems with the quality of the garment. I would buy this one again, even knowing about those minor issues.

Would be nice if arcteryx made the same range of products for women. They have a women's wool hoody but its very thick and is for cold weather. I'll reluctantly buy the men's version and it will be too wide in the shoulders, too narrow at the hips, and too long in the arms.

I bought this hoodie because of the majestic, retro-purple. I was told it wouldn't shrink (being wool)...it shrank. I can still wear it but only as a base layer with something else over it. I thought it would be thin enough to wear all year. Also the logo is invisible in this colorway.

The fit is great but it is not durable at all. If you're wearing a backpack or a waist band, the straps start to wear the material within a very short time and tiny holes appear, It's too delicate for me. Also, after a few washes with the recommended detergent, tiny holes started to appear randomly all over the garment, especially where the ruck sack or belt straps were. A very delicate piece of clothing!

The shirt tore the first time I wore it and Arc'teryx only offered me a 30% off coupon and wouldn't help replace or repair it. It was very comfy while it lasted but it's ridiculous that Arc'teryx won't stand by their products
