I love wearing my Kyanite hoody when I am active and it is going to be chilly. My Kyanite is warm, stretchy, versatile, comfortable and looks good.
I love wearing this as a mid-layer when snowboarding under a shell on days that are down to -10. The fleece gives sufficient warmth to trap heat and it is flexible that gives me the freedom to more. The fit hugs me well and I feel like it is a warm extension of my base layer. I will also use put on the hood as my balaclava under my helmet if I'm finding a bit cold and I'm already boarding.
This also acts as a great transitions piece. When you change from harsh climates to indoors can be jarring but this piece is great. I love wearing this when I have to go in to grab a bite after boarding. Also, I wear this piece in the car driving to mountain (Mount St. Louis for me).
I got my wife wearing this piece as well and she is obsessed with it too. We will be often wearing these pieces together. We are all both confident and feel good when we are wearing it.

I bought this as a lightweight layer for xc skiing and couldn't be more satisfied. The panel construction lends very well to movement, the insulation is perfect for a mild winter day, and a fashion forward design on top of it.

This hoody is a mixed bag. On one hand it is certainly warm and great for hiking outdoors in cold temps. It fits good and is comfortable. The negatives are that it pills really badly. On the second time wearing it started to pill and after wearing it while on holiday for a week it is now all over. Really disappointing considering the price. I would expect it maybe with wearing a backpack against it but this was often just with a jacket over it so hard to understand how it can get so worn so quickly. I still rate the hoody as great for outdoors and warmth to weight ratio but would not buy another one from this range until the issue with pilling is addressed.

I'm 5' 6" and fit. Size SMALL fits perfectly for me; snug and I'm able to wear a long sleeve underneath. The material is stretchy and warm. I highly recommend.

This Hoody was a Christmas gift to myself. The heavy version of Kyanite is very warm. Sometimes i dont need any other jacket. When it is very cold i wear the Kyanite Hoody as a baselayer. Fleece is so comfortable for me.
The only minus is the quite high price.

I've had the Kyanite Hoody for 6 weeks now. The pilling is already out of control and I haven't even used this for any outdoor activities yet. Just wearing around the house. If this happened after a year of constant use I'd understand but this is unacceptable at this price.

This was my favorite jacket when it was tech wool. But they've replaced that with a generic fleece and still charge $200 for it.

This hoody is 5 stars out of the box, in theory I absolutely love it. Perfect cut, perfect fit, very comfortable, warm. Basically my dream hoodie. BUT, it has one fatal flaw: the external surface is SUPER fragile and prone to piling. After only a few months of casual wear and minimal washing, hang dry, it is piling in multiple places, most notably on the back of the sleeves for some reason. I am a technical fleece addict, I have multiple other pieces I use for outdoor actives, this one was purchased for casual wear. Now I feel like it is grubby and worn-out looking because of the piling, my dream has been destroyed. This is especially annoying because I was trying to buy this hoody for over a year while it was out of stock waiting for a refresh. In my opinion, this level of fragility is unacceptable in such an expensive garment. However, it doesn't have to be this way, for example I had a kyanite LT that survived 1 year plus of MANY washes before it even began to show signs the smallest signs of piling. I had a MEC technical fleece that survived years of washes and hard use without ever piling at all. I think the textile engineers need to go back to the drawing board with this fabric. In summary, on paper this is the perfect hoodie of my dreams, but it gets 1 star due to lack of durability of the outer surface. What a shame :(

I had my prior Arteryx fleece for 14 years. I replaced it with this and was worried that it looked too lightbut it's better in every way. Warmer. More breathable. No seams, so fewer tears. 5/5 recommend,

On of the best all around sweatshirts I own. Comfortable to wear and warm. I have 3 Labrador Retrievers that need to be let out a lot for exercise and training. Through the cold of the Northeast US this winter this sweat shirt has kept me warm for short trips outside with the dogs. I like it so much I have purchased another.

Get this , your body will thank you and the girls will notice you. Why? Because it's cut just right and the color is fire. I'm telling you this is your layer you've been looking for. It's amazing on its own and perfect under my puffer jacket. I wear this in Bozeman Montana where the winters are meaner than my mother in law and hold a grudge until march. Wear it and if you don't well less competition for me.

Very nice and true to size. I hit the gym a lot so I'm 225 at 5'7". So being short and stocky a challenge. But this in an XL is perfect. Lots of give and very soft.

Great everyday fleece, nothing fancy, keeps you warm, fits snugly, mediums seem to get smaller every year! Generous hood, very breathable, no pilling yet but time will tell.

the Kyanite Hoody provides effective warmth in a cold environment (50-60F) and its surface seems to be pretty durable against abrasion. i am sure this will be ny favourite middle layer for a long time

Fits snug so great for layering. Comfortable and warm while being very light. Was looking for a warm layer under a rain shell that could be worn on its own on cool days and evenings and this is it.

One of my favorite Arc'Teryx hoodies. Great for travel and sport .. Maintains shape and color post washing .. well constructed with zip pockets always a plus . Multi seasonal item . Great layering item with atom vest or jacket for cooler temps. Loved it so much I had to get another one! Simple , stylish bonus ! Nice for post climb warmth in the cooler months ..

This a great jacket! The fit is true to size. It is warm and very breathable. I use it for daily wear and as a mid layer beneath a hard shell on ski days in the upper 20s and 30s.
