I have three of these totes (2 from over 8 years ago still going strong) and I love love love them. They are lightweight, durable, easy to clean, each has an outside pocket, you can zipper it shut and they are good colors. LLBean: Please please add more lavender and purples to the regular colors!!!!!

I packed this in my luggage on a trip. On the way home, I put my purse in it and used it as my "personal item" along with extras purchased on the trip. It fit under the airline seat ahead of me perfectly. This bag is very well constructed and very spacious. The only thing LL Bean could do to make this excellent product even better would be a strap on one side to slip over an extended luggage handle. Regardless, I highly recommend this bag. The Medium is great too! Compliments on the colors, including the marine blue.

These shopping bags are wonderful. Perfect size for me, because I'm short. Take grocery shopping and everything fits perfectly. Easy to get to my car, and get inside when I get them home .

I used this as my carry on for a trip to Iceland, and it held an amazing amount of stuff and still fit under my airplane seat. The outside pocket and inside zipper pocket were both very useful.

Bean makes the best totes period. They are hardworking and last a long time. I have several of them in different styles and they are all useful. This model the medium is perfect for everyday carry items for car travel. I also have the large but it is more spacious and is more of an overnight or beach bag because it can fit a ton of stuff in. This one is just right for my EDC purposes and has a zipper enclosure to boot.

I like the two lightweight tote bags I bought. They are very sturdy. I like the size and navy color. I bought these to place jewelry I make to sell at my churches craft fair in December. The price was very reasonable.

I got two of these (XL) for our boat bags. Everything is perfect. I like the zippered top and dark navy color.

Was going overseas fir 16 days and airline limited overhead to 8 kgs, about 17 pounds. My Bean carry on suitcase is 7 pounds without clothes so that was not going to work. I thought this bag might work but it was a smigeon too big in one of the measurements.

I'm replacing an older heavy canvas bag with this lightweight, roomy bag. I love that I can just fold it up when not in use, it stores easily and doesn't take up much room.

I bought it for the color -- which was perfect - to use for needlepoint things.

I use this as a carry on for travel. I can put several changes of clothes, pair of shoes and TSA compliant toiletries, easily, see it all in one main compartment (I can't stand those carryons with several different compartments) AND zip it closed on top, outside pocket is also useful for quick grab item. My only wish is that carrying handles were broader or slightly cushioned, or a way to hook on a crossbody strap and a hook on inside for key access. Extremely durable and absolutely cannot beat the price for a carry on bag.

I love, love, love this bag for everyday use! I still love leather and still buy "good" leather bags like Fossil, Coach and Frye, but I carry a lot in my bag on a daily basis, and I've found that my "good" bags are sometimes too heavy. Sometimes too heavy even before I put anything in them. So I decided to keep my "good" bags for "special" and carry my go-to LL Bean bag EVERY day. By the way, I get lots of compliments on it.Thank you LL Bean for making my life easier.

In New York City, where I live, bags are the staff of life. We walk everywhere and our lives are in our bags. I first bought a medium-sized red bag with navy handles and my initials (to keep an envious light-fingered type from swiping it), and I liked it so much, I bought a granite-grey bag with black handles and subtle black initials. It's the perfect size for small grocery shopping, and the material is lightweight but strong and waterproof. Although it is the same design as Bean's traditional canvas boat bag, the slightly shiny material makes it more sophisticated, and oddly enough, it's quite chic!

Very lightweight. Haven't used it yet but looks like it will hold a great deal of what I need to pack for a car trip to the beach. I purchased the XL. The navy blue is a beautiful color.

Good size, but not too big. Washes well. Lots of storage; good zipper. Good colors. Recommend

Simple and useful. Lack of multiple compartments makes it much easier to find things and easier to empty sand after toting sandy beach items. One small zipper pocket on the inside sized for cell phone and wallet. One slightly larger open compartment on the outside for water bottle or similar. Embroidered name for personalization is worth it; especially if it's a gift.

Yes, this tote is super lightweight and will stand on its own. I purchased the soft spruce color which is a neutral for me. Being a soft material the medium holds plenty.
