The large size is really awkward. The material of the bag is good but too thin for a bag of this capacity. If you fill it with stuff, whatever is inside kind of pokes out in an uncomfortable way. Unpleasant to carry around on either shoulder or by my side. I brought as carry-on and beach bag and felt the need to buy a different bag to complete my trip w/ less aggravation. Too much thought and energy has to go into filling this bag in a way that doesn't spoil the day.

I bought this bag in large is beautiful but the only problem the hanger is too short to carry in the shoulder. Is Ok if you have the bag empty but if is full is hard to put it in sholder

This bag is a great size, it's huge. It would have been better if it had a shoulder strap - the nature of the bag is it's so large and can hold so much carrying it by the handles alone is hard. However for light weight items, or for grocery shopping, it works good. It folds flat for easy storage.

The bag is okay. The shoulder straps could be a little longer so it's easier to put on & pull off the shoulder. It also could have been slightly bigger to add a zip-up hood or a slightly bigger object.

Bag itself seems fine, i couldn't get past the bright orange color. The bag is really bright orange, and I thought the pictures looked more tan/beige than orange. We returned the bag because it's not the style what we wanted. It gives more "gone hunting" than preppy

Best tote! I already own one but could not pass up the black/turquoise combo. Great as the carry-on for air travel. Stuff it - always fits in the overhead.

This is such a nice bag except for the strap. If you live somewhere cold that you need to wear a bulky coat, you are going to want to put this on your shoulder and stuff your hands into the pockets. Well you can't. It won't make it up to your shoulder. I am wearing a hoodie and can barely get it there. So you will have to hold the handle with your cold, cold fingers as you traverse the parking lot to work. I guess you could have it digging into your forearm. Aesthetically and physically the handle isn't really proportionate to the bag. Might return. Was trying to replace my backpack with a tote. It checks all the other boxes -looks good, light, big enough for shoes (for when you take your boots off), lunch, laptop. Too bad.

I like the light weight and the durability of this bag. The large size is just what I was looking for. I hope to have it a long time.

Nice Tote- I like how the top has a zipper, but I wish it could stand upright on it's own -it's too Floppy, It Needs More Pockets and Key Ring, and Longer Handles (14 Inches would be good) so you can wear it over the shoulder. Wish it came in other brighter colors like Teal, Purple, Turquoise, etc.

Light and durable. Needs Seamed to Seamed Pockets inside with divider.

I really love the color, weight, durability, space, and handles. But it is waaaay too large.

Really love the quality and style of these bags, however the handles could be a bit longer. I purchased other tote bags from local retailer a few years ago and the handles are perfect 14 inch length for slinging over the shoulder. I also purchased another one of these in the smaller medium size and had to return it because it just did not suit my needs as I like having shoulder bag and the handles are too short. Also these would have been great if they were made with the double side-to-side zippers, they only have one pull in either of the sizes (I purchased all 3 sizes) and should have included a front pocket on both sides instead of just one.

Called customer service to ensure this was water resistant. Was told based on the lining it would be. Nope! It's not! Also the zipper broke the first time I used it. Was already on vacation with the bag so couldn't send it back. After some struggle, was able to realign the zipper so it would function. Aside from this it is a nice packable beach bag.

Great bag except for quality control missed the pocket not getting sewed. Kind of important if your going to charge the high price of LL Bean.

I was surprised by the poor quality of the stitching on my new lightweight tote. It looks like the bag was sewn by someone who has never sewn before. The stitching stopped and started and went off track. This bag is clearly a second and should never have been sold.

Thin, lightweight construction; doesn't sit upright so can be easily filled

The straps are awkwardly too short and the return process was an absolute nightmare. I thought I was getting refunded to my credit card but they ended up sending me a gift card a month later.

Bought as a tote to take when traveling ( hold water bottle and souvenirs) yet folds flat enough to fit in carry on. However, I find it too big and the black is just not atttactive. Will be searching for something else.

Not happy with the monogram directly above the LLBean label. The monogram should have been larger or the llbean tag somewhere else. Will not order anymore of these. The quality of the bag is nice but the monogram is not! I would love to return this.

I had previously purchased several similar bags from llbean years ago and loved them. These newer ones have much shorter straps ( you cannot carry over your shoulder) and no divider pockets on the inside which were very handy. The size of the bag (xl) is great but the lack of features that the old ones had make me wish I had read the specifications more thoroughly. I definitely would have reconsidered my purchase. I did have them monogrammed so I have no choice but to keep them! Just an FYI for those who may think they are the same as the older version

I was looking forward to the large tote and even had it monogrammed. They did a great job with the monogram, but the tote was huge. Sadly, it is going back. The specifications online were not even close to what I received. The tote was a whopping 22 inches wide (i.e., long) almost five inches longer than even an Extra Large.

Great for shower house, beach, and or flea market/ agriculture shopping. Turn inside out quick rinse and good to go!

I bought this tote to use when we go swimming. I loaded it with three beach towels and a few snacks. I was disappointed to discover that the handles are too short to loop over my shoulder once the bag is full. I like everything else about this bag except for this problem. If they just would have made the handles longer, it would compensate for when the bag is full. My last beach bag had this issue covered, and I was hoping this bag would be a comparapble replacement. Darn it.

It zips shut, has an inside pocket and an outside pocket. I packed all of my clothes in it for 5 days at Disney World. Its lightweight and easy to carry.
