When having an item monogrammed and ordering by telephone, make sure your request is understood correctly. This item was returned due to an incorrect monogram.

I ordered this tote with a monogram and it came without, very disappointed.

the tote is beautiful, very nice monogram, but the tote is very stiff and hard not happy with the purchase.

This is the first time I have ever felt that LLBean let me down. The bag finally arrived after a longer than normal wait (even with time for monogramming) and when it arrived the one word monogram I requested was extremely small for the size/scale of the bag. I order the extra large bag and the monogram on it was suited for a small bag. I never imagined that LLB would not scale the monogram to the size of product. Beware if you monogram anything large. The monogram size was ridiculously small for this item.

The tote bag is nice,roomy & strong as advertised however the salvage of the fabric was sewn to the OUTSIDE of the bag & puckered a bit. If they wanted to maximize their fabric this could have been assembled to the INSIDE just as easily and it would look more professionally done. A key ring &/or pocket on the inside would also be helpful as most of us drive cars & no longer haul blocks of ice in our tote bags - which was the original intent. The offer of a return seemed fruitless due to the fact that in pictures some of these bags had the salvage showing,and some were sewn correctly....therefore I figured it would be a 50/50 chance of receiving a replacement bag that was correctly assembled. So Happy to buy American made - but perhaps the assembly dept needs a refresher class on sewing techniques.

The bag is well made and the monogram perfect, but OMG what a huge bag! I ordered an extra large tote because the specs said it was 19 inches wide, but it's actually 27 inches from seam to seam! I missed the fact that it didn't come with a pocket. I also purchased a large bag, which is actually 23 inches wide from side to side (not 17 inches). So while the bags are great, you've got to be careful about the measurements. You can't trust the website's information. And because of that, I have two huge bags that really don't work for my needs.

I really loved this bag when I got it. Sadly, it had a slight damage right under the monogram. I've returned it and have placed a new order for another one. Hopefully, that one is damage free. Fingers crossed.

I really like this classic LL Bean tote. The zipper enclosure makes it very convenient in bad weather. I was surprised and disappointed by the loose stitching along the top edges however. This is visible on both ends of the top of the bag. It arrived this way and since I had the tote monogrammed, I did not attempt to return it.

I have been wanting one of these for a very long time and finally decided to purchase. I got today after it kept getting back ordered, so I've waited about 3-4 months for it. Immediately, I was disappointed. The color is not the medium green olive shown in the photos, it's much darker. The stitching job is also shockingly very poor. I'm sadly very disappointed.

It was a gift and she was thrilled. I think it was perfect and exactly what I ordered. Thank the person that I ordered from. My daughter is a teacher and I ordered one for her years ago and she still is using it. good product.

The canvas material feels nice and thick, but heavy duty brass zipper advertised is not what I got in the mail. The smaller zipper seems like and inevitable failure point.

I ordered a bag in the color I wanted, it was backorder. I went and found another bag (had the bride give me her 3 favorite colors) and found the 2nd choice color in the Freeport Store. They kindly mailed the bag to me. I held onto the bag for 3 weeks in hopes that the backordered bag would show up early. 3 days befor the shower I went to my local LLBean to have the brides new married initials embroidered in it. The brides new initials are ERH. They offered to have me order a new bag (backordered) for the old price since there was recently a price increase. No other form of compensation for their mistake. I understand they're overwhelmed but they need a better system when mistakes are made.

They side seams are sewn in a very sloppy fashion. Rough edges

I really wanted to give this bag five starsit's classic and well-designedbut unfortunately, mine arrived with some imperfections. One of the seams has uneven, frayed stitching, which gives it the look of a knockoff rather than the high-quality Boat and Tote I was expecting. I've always admired the brand's reputation, so I was disappointed by how my bag turned out. That said, I didn't pursue an exchange because the wait time for a replacement is incredibly long.

I love the bag, and the quality. I disliked the embroidery, I already returned and reordered. I received the exact same mess up. I decided just to keep because I needed for an event and it was too late to return for a second time.

Very disappointed. LLBean was always synonymous with quality. This product was not finished, threads hanging in numerous places. When brought to attention of customer service I received a snippy reply. I expect to pay more for quality. Unfortunately it seems with LLBean you can just expect to pay more. I'm done purchasing from them.

I purchased 3 bags and one bag was terrible in quality of stitching. It was an obvious rush job and not checked before shipping. The LLBean tag was literally coming out of the top seam. I tried to trim it with scissors but it just looks terrible, sloppy. The zipper is extremely difficult to close and the monogram had threads coming out from first letter. I know these are super popular now but I would rather a quality product then something thrown together ... not to mention no card enclosed with the sewers name on that bag. Small bag. My other bags purchased were fine.

I love the boat and tote and this is my second of this size even. But this time when I ordered it the bag had loose threads everywhere and was bad quality which is very unlike the bags normally and the embroidery is super small and illegible did some reason which has never been a problem. I'm very disappointed in the bags if this is the recent quality. The ones I bought a year ago are way nicer.

Disappointing.. took a very long time and the quality just isn't there.. the color of the pink trim also is dramatically different.. not sure who is the supplier but not the same as previous bags I have

Great bag love it for my kids snow gear for school. Have used twice and just happened to notice this rip on the bottom. Would recommend my daughter has one too I think maybe it was just not made right?

I purchased in November and didn't receive until mid January. The quality of the bag is not like it used to be, poor stitching and cheaper feel.

For a product that's almost $60 and back ordered for months at a time, I was really expecting higher quality than what I just received. As a long time Bean customer who owns various sized Bean totes from years ago, this quality is nowhere near the older versions. I don't consider myself a picky person in general, but the stitching and sewing on this bag is not great. The fabric is puckered, there's loose stitching and messy thread everywhere. The bag looks like it was pumped out as quickly as possible with very little attention to finishing details. Also not sure what's happening with the end of the blue handles inside the bag.

I LIKE THE ZIPPER ON THIS BAG - BUT IT IS RATHER STIFF - WHICH I AM NOT QUITE FOND OF

I waited for this bag via back order and was very excited to use this for my dog stuff! Be aware of the pictures don't look like what they do in real life, the regular size straps are so tiny. I can barely get my arm through them. If I had known that, I guess I would've ordered the longer straps and the bag itself seems very flimsy and thin. Unfortunately, I doubt I can return it because I had it monogrammed. I looked at all the sizing before ordering and this unfortunately this just did not live up to the hype.
