First of all, this is a Christmas gift so I didn't rate the stars very high. It looked very nice, sturdy and the monogram was perfect. I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it.

I'm giving this a 4 star review because the Monogram was not done right.

You can't go wrong with a classic. I love the added feature of the zipper. Great w a monogram.

Larger than I thought it would be. Zipper is hard to close unless the bag is full or almost full.

Bag is perfect, as always. The monogram is not the most clean stitching (there were two loose threads).

I got this bag in hopes to find a great tote bag to carry my stuff in as a teacher. I first ordered the large with long handles, but when it arrived it was a lot larger than necessary. If you are looking for something for luggage I would recommend the large. I sent it back and got a medium with long handles. It holds all my stuff including my 15 inch laptop with some room to spare. My only wish is that there was a small pocket on the inside for a catchall for valuables such as my keys, wallet, and phone so they are not getting lost in the bottom of the bag. Another issue I have noticed is some strings are coming off on the inside of the bag. Nothing is wrong structurally, but sometimes I find loose threads here and there that get snagged on the zipper (highly recommend the zipper, by the way). I just tie them off and cut them. Other than that I have no complaints. I got mine in green with emerald for the monogram.

It was a gift for a wedding shower. She loved it! Quick delivery and the color choices for handles and monogram were many. It's the gift that even if you have one, you can't have too many! So useful.

It is hard to imagine a more well-built bag. This will last a lifetime. The zipper lining folds up out of the bag, making for a HUGE secured storage volume.Colors are nice and stitched monogram looks great and costs very little to add. I subtract one star because the bag lacks a side pocket (inside desirable, or outside) which I thought was standard in this type of bag.

The tote is fabulous. Well made, sturdy, nice looking. Heads up if you plan to have a name or monogram on it...very small size fonts used vis a vis the tote size. Disappointing

The bags were roomy and had a solid zipper. But the monogram was way too small in relation to the size of the bag.

Well made large tote but the monogram did not turn out as I requested. I asked for GTG but got GGT. T is for my last name. I am not returning it since GGT are my initials, but for a monogram, I wanted GTG.

I bought one bag for my friend right before she left for her honeymoon. Her new last name is 10 letters long, it looked pretty good on the bag. I ordered one for myself and the scale was off. My last name is 9 letters long and the text looked small and smooshed together. Other than the monogram issue, the bag seems to be good quality. The zipper is smooth and the canvas is stiff, but I like that because it stands up and is sturdy. If I were to consider reordering, I would highly recommend spending the extra money on a zip top. You have the option to add more to the bag without having to worry about the contents spilling out.

These are my regular standbys - have a collection that function as carryalls, hold all's and then some. Well made, great quality. Please bring back the "custom" canvas totes. While I love these bags my favorites are the ones I chose my own color combinations. They are not only functional but great to look at. Choosing only bottom, handle and (maybe) monogram color is not the same!

As I have purchased several of the Bean Boat Totes, I absolutely love the durability of the totes . . . In fact, I have recommended them to a few friends. Because we are members of various organizations and programs, I use the Bean Totes as my means of organization - I use the colored handles as my color coding & keep pertinent materials, binders, etc in that tote which allows for grab & go! All that being said, my last tote was purchased for a friend/teacher. I was disappointed in the monogram - the font didn't appear as was shown on the screen when I was placing the order and instead it was a bolder font making one of her initials run together.

This is made of a very stiff canvas and is very sturdy. My one issue is that the measurements for the large size do not match the item which is much bigger. I would return the bag for a medium except that it is too large for convenient shipping.

Disappointed that there are no inside pockets like the totes from a competitor. I also would like to see other body colors besides off white. Gets dirty too easily. LL Bean used to have more options for body and strap colors. I loved when we could design our own. I will not buy another one without inside pockets. Sturdy, love the medium handle and zip top.

I thought I was ordering a smaller version of my XL tote bag. My mistake was ordering from LL BEAN instead of Lands' End. I was very disappointed to find that there is no outside slip pocket, inside zip pocket, or inside pouches.

I have several boat and totes. Disappointed in my recent order. The canvas is noticeably less structured and not as thick as my older bags. I ordered one in the fall of 2025 that was still the old quality and this one in spring 2026. I still love the bags but disappointing to see durability of material has declined while the price has increased.

I am still debating on whether or not i want to go through the hassle of returning this, but the stitching is very messy. I have more than 20 boat and totes and this is the first one with quality issues.

Always love giving this gift as a baby gift but no great color options were available when I was shopping! I ended up with a navy but when it came, it was a midnight blue that was almost black. I had to return it. I did appreciate how they accepted my return even though it was personalized- incredibly nice!! Will shop again and just wait on better color options :)
