Ordered these and two others to replace a pair of Madden's i have been wearing for a couple of years. Ordered a size up from my normal 5 - 5.5, They seemed very comfortable around the house. Started to wear them outside when taking the dog for a walk, so far so good. Will try them on a short hiking trip now. I have a wide ball, narrow foot and high instep, as well as bunions on both feet, especially my right foot. If they are going to hurt it will be my right foot. A little wide in the ball of the foot which seems to be adding to the comfort level. I can adjust with the thickness of my socks. Returned the other two after they failed the comfort tests.

Size and fit are great. I need extra arch support and so use my own inserts, not a problem since the inserts that come with the boots can be taken out. This is the third time I've bought these boots. The uppers are tough as nails, but after 2-3 years the soles wear down a bit and don't grip as well, which is when I replace them. I get so many compliments on my winter boots! Expect to wear them as long as they're available, and as long as I last.

I order three boots, the Newton Ridge Plus Amped, the Newton Ridge BC, and the Merrell Alverstone 2. The Newton Ridge Plus Amled would need an arch support insert if you have high arches, felt like a cheap boot, but it wasn't expensive. The Merrell was cutest, but stiff as a board, and felt like my ankles were in a grip, and would make a blister. The Newton Ridge BC (coral) was the best, comfortable right out of the box. I ordered my normal size, 7.5, and there was plenty of room. I have a wide toe box area, and narrow ankle. I will update later after my trip to Alaska if the waterproof fails miserably.

They’re ok. I don’t love love them, but I’m very picky and have been through at least 7 pairs of boots without loving any of them. These were on sale so i decided to keep them. They run a little big, but I know the 7 would be too small. They didn’t cause any discomfort out of the box, but I still wore them for a month before hitting a trail. They do ok on trails. Not a ton of grip, so cramp ons are a must for anything the least bit icy. Sole is very firm. I got the white, and was a little nervous about staining, but wore them on a pretty muddy trail and they really are stain proof… they actually look better with a little contrast. Overall I’m glad I have them, but I’m not shouting from the rooftops…

There was no problem with size or style. The problem is that they are NOT waterproof. I didn't walk through any puddles, just some wet grass. In less than 30 minutes my feet were soaked through. I'm extremely disappointed with these boots and am returning them.

I have a size 5 (slightly wide) foot and have trouble finding shoes and especially winter boots that fit. These Columbia Newton Ridge Boots fit my foot perfectly. They are extremely comfortable and wonderfully light weight. The sole is flexible and yet has an impressive gripping tread for confidence walking on icy snow. They take almost no 'breaking in', but I feel they will hold up well.

I first have to say that I wear a size 5. I have a hard time finding any shoe or especially boot that fits. The Columbia Newton Ridge Boots are absolutely the most comfortable, light weight boots I've ever had on my feet. hey actually feel custom made for my small but slightly wide foot. The soles are flexible yet have plenty of tread for me to feel comfortable walking on icy snow.

The size of the shoes was correct, the material it’s pretty nice and they are really comfortable

I'm really enjoying these for winter hiking! In the snow, on the ice, even in the mud. I was concerned they wouldn't clean easily, but they really do. Good price, quality and style and comfort!

Comfortable shoes. Just wish they were waterproof. Other than that, I would buy again.
