I really wanted to like these shoes, after two hikes and putting in over 20 miles my shoes, and my wife's shoes are both delaminating ant the top layer of the shoe is pealing off :(

I haven't had them for long, so I can't speak to durability but I am happy with the fit, comfort and traction on both pavement and dusty trails. This is the first pair of walk/trail running shoes I have had that didn't crush my toes, I appreciate the extra width.

Great color and fit. The waterproof layer is delaminating following infrequent use over the last two months.

The shoes fit great and I love the breath ability they offer when going on a long hike. The material is so light that it keeps your feet cool. However, this also (in my opinion) makes them less water resistant which is important to take into account when going on early morning dew on the ground walks as your feet get wet. Overall I would highly recommend!

I dont know if I would call these hiking shoes. They are more like tennis shoes with more aggressive bottom tred, but uppers are just tennis shoes. I thought they would be more wide in the toe box like all the other Keens Ive purchased, but theyre not. I had to go up a full size for proper fitting.

Most comfortable trail shoes Ive ever worn. They are comfortable at the arch and dont create hotspots on the top of my foot from the laces. They could work very easily work as slip ons if they came with elastic laces. I like the height that they give me without feeling like Im wearing lifts.

I went to Keens a number of years ago and look forward to new designs. Since I have gone to Keens, I know longer struggle with plantar fasciatus. These new ones are comfortable, give my sole great support and are still light. Highly recommend them.

Ordered the speed hiking shoe before a vacation. Had been suffering heel pain for weeks with very slow improvement. The shoes arrived the day before we left so no break in. They have been a dream! 20k steps a day and 100 floors while hiking around Cabo. Foot feels fine!

These are abit tight and ridgid at first compared to many new hiking shoes I've had. They are starting to be more comfortable the more I wear them. I wish the laces were a bit longer, as I have a high instep. I'm looking forward to a long relationship after I break them in.

Very satisfied with this shoe. Works well in loose dirt and wet conditions. Will try in sandy soil in weeks to come.

love the shoe. my only complaint is that the tongue needs some padding. you can feel every lace across the shoe.

Tried these out and was pleasantly surprised at the room in the toe box. I typically wear Keen styles with the original fit, so having the extra room for toe splay was great to see with what looks like a sleeker style. That said, the interior of the heel feels awkward and uncomfortable as all get out. The little fancy pads on the side meant to help secure your heel actually chafe on my heel and I find that the rear of the heel fits insecurely. Lo and behold, Keen opted to not have some form of heel lock feature that is common on most of their shoes and boots and no matter how tightly I try and fasten the laces, I still get heel slippage. Oddly enough, I tried the waterproof version, which has a more traditional interior in the heel and it fits snugly and comfortably, as it should. The tradeoff comes in interior space. The same size that fits my forefoot and which I normally wear in Keen shoes, 11.5, feels incredibly cramped with the waterproof Zionic. A bump up to 12 affords more room in the waterproof version, but for my part, it lengthens the shoe enough that the buckle point in the material is off and I feel it buckling into the top of my smaller toes when stepping off, which will likely chafe over time. I also find that these don't work well with orthotics, as a number of keen styles tend to.
What do I like? The Zionic have a full-length TPU rock plate, which obviously protects the bottom of your foot, while also offering a bit of spring in your stride. It also offers a pretty stable feel under foot, something I was worried about with the height of the cushioning. If the heel interior fit like the waterproof version, I would have kept these. As it is, it feels much too sparse and loose in the heel, which leads to the slippage and chafing.
All in all, Keen has some solid elements to build off with the Zionic and I'll be interested to revisit this style, should Keen update it with a second version in the future.

I had high hopes for these shoes. I wore them backpacking and they caused me to have bad blisters on the back of my feet. The shoes also started to rip out from the soles after about 15 or so miles of hiking. Seem to be very poorly made. Would not recommend
