These shoes are a game changer. Having always been an avid walker, I have had one hip replacement and need another in order to get moving the distances I desire. My physical therapist recommended these to help me through the reconditioning phase as I prepare for my next surgery and for my future needs. They have made a huge difference in my comfort level and ability to walk longer distances with much less pain. I highly recommend them for these purposes and also to help prevent wear and tear on joints if you are young and healthy. I am a fan for life!

I ordered four pairs of Cliftons since I've worn them for years. So far, this is the only pair I plan to keep. After rehabbing from ankle surgery last year, I'm finally able to wear shoes again and can walk normally. I absolutely LOVE this shoe! It's wide enough for my feet and has a nice big toe box in addition to having a normal tongue that is not tethered to the base of the shoe. I'm finding that the shoes that have the tongue tethered to the base of the shoe by a stretchy mesh is too tight around the middle of my foot and causes pain after a couple of hours of wearing. I hope you'll continue to make shoes that are not tongue-tied!

I wear wide sized shoes. I loved the style of these shoes so I thought I would try a pair even though it didn't come in wide. Unfortunately they didn't fit my wide feet and I had to return them. I wish Hoka had more wide options. I'd buy several more pairs.

I purchased a suede variety of shoe. I took a risk knowing that it didn't come in a wide size option. The risk failed. The only negative comment I would make about this product is we need more wide size options available.

I have to wear Hokas everywhere and these all black suede Clifton's can be dressed up or down. With black pants, they blend in and don't look like a sneaker. Sine these are in All Gender sizes I was told to size down, however, that was incorrect and I had to return for a larger size. They run "true to size" for me. The shipping was great on both the purchases and the return. I received the shoes in just a few days and my return was processed immediately. I now usually just purchase my shoes directly from Hoka due to the excellent service and I know that I'm getting authentic merchandise. Thank you Hoka!

The major problem I found with the sneaker is that the heel tips up a bit - if you place it on a hard surface and look - it does Not touch the ground which explains why when standing up straight I keep feeling unsteady and tipping backwards - which also bothered my knees. I looked at all my other sneakers and none of them have this problem - thus I am returning them. The other problem I have is that I need more internal height - but Only in the toe box by the pinkie toe - not everyone will have that problem is my guess - but the first problem needs to be fixed.
Really like the seude, and would love an all leather sneaker like this - with the fixes mentioned above.

I stand on concrete at work, and have pelvic pain/instability. I wanted shoes that were supportive and cushioned, while also working with regular clothes (not super sporty). hokas seem to all be super wide... these included. I mean the outside! if chunky shoes weren't in style this would be a hard sell for me, but my feet have been very happy. had to move my seat back in the car because my foot was too close with all that cush. I'm usually an 8.5 in running shoes and true for these as well (I wear an 8 in street shoes). i like neutrals but this all tan suede does look a bit "orthotic-y". would love a bold solid color in suede - kelly green or orangey red.

I've owned 4 pairs of Hoka's these have been the only pair that I've had issues with. They are comfortable the problem seems to be design flaws or personal aesthetics
First might be more of a personal aesthetic issue. The suede is cool looking but it's not true black it's almost like a dark grey in the sun because of the sheen the suede material has. I work in the film industry and often wear all black. The shoes look a bit odd when wearing all black because they're not truly black. Especially when outside.
There's a weird squeaking sound coming from the toe box, feels like it's the insole rubbing against the inside of the shoe causing this sound. It's annoying on set when I'm walking around and I have shoes that make a sound every step I make.
Lastly, idk if it's due to the design and material but as they've worn in a weird wrinkle has formed on the top of the toe box that digs into the top of my toes, kind of hurts after a full day of running around and being on my feet.
I'll probably end up keeping them but I'm pretty unhappy with them. I hope they'll get better as they age, I still love my Hoka's these ones were just not quite what I expected.

After 15 minutes of walking, both big toes had blisters. The sewn on Suede is an issue in the toe area. Narrow fit compared to other Hokas.

After seeing a doctor and 8 physical therapy treatments, I chose this from a list of supportive shoes. It helps with the pain which is in the arch area of my foot (not plantar fasciitus). But I did have to remove the insert and put in a lower arch one. It is very supportive, and very funky-cute. I ordered a Hoka Clifton also in this order, and it worked better. But I am keeping both. I have had to size up (recommended by Zappo) so often, that I'm thinking my new size is 9??

The Clifton has a very different feel. It's almost like walking on a cloud and I sort of like it. If you buy this model keep this in mind.

Great looks, comfort, and stability. Added bonus -- they keep my feet warm. Everything I needed and wanted in an autumn/winter trainer.

Fit was accurate, sizing was comparable to other sneakers like Brooks, Nike, etc. The width feels normal, with room in the toe box.

Careful on the sizing of this shoe. I’m a long time Clifton wearer, always women’s size 8. This is the first time I bought the suede ones. They were too small, visibly shorter than my old Cliftons. I exchanged for 8.5 and they’re perfect. It’s the first time I bought a Hoka unisex style, so apparently the sizing is a bit different.

In order to keep active, my shoes need to provide good arch support and enough cushioning. My Hoka's do both. This is my first pair of the Clifton suede and is a bit nicer for winter wear.

This Clifton Suede model is a great walking and all around shoe. I live in a cooler climate and I wanted a Hoka shoe that was made out leather because it is much warmer for the fall and winter. It also features a more classic Clifton styling without the built-in shoe horn look of the current models, which I hope will someday be removed. The shoe has great cushioning and is well crafted. It fits true to size. Thanks to Hoka for making this kind of shoe available.

super happy with it and how comfortable it is.
got it more to have Clifton that are more "stylish" and was told they aren't for too much walking but I use it for work and I walk a lot at work and go up and down stairs and loving every min in those shoes.
I rotate between these and the regular Clifton 9.
Please keep creating more plain black stylish Clifton for us

The size and fit of Hokas is always very good. I have had nerve problems in both legs, especially in the left one. These shoes help tremendously with their superior cushioning, alowing my foot to rotate through the walking cycle. if there was one thing that I would change, it would be the light color. I would like to see them in a darker grey, but that is just being picky.

I am a city high school teacher. Amazing shoes. The kids even compliment me, but also don't want them for themselves which is the perfect combo. They totally have a granny look to them which I like rocking a little ironically. After standing all day I feel amazing. I will always have a pair of these. I love the monochrome too.
