I have had Gaviotas for years and loved them. For some inexplicable reason, some fool decided to make the toebox of the Gaviota 5 so big they look like clown shoes. Why. These are supposed to provide support, why on earth would they make a big floppy front for our feet to float around in?! Iclearly can't wear these, and I thought about getting Arahis instead, which aren't as good for my foot problems, but what can I do. But I just read reviews on the new Arahis, and there are endless complaints about those now, too. Who did this? I now have to choose between wide lollipop Gaviotas or the Arahi, which apparently is crazy narrow and hard now, among other problems. Unfortunately, I'm probably going to have to go to the trouble of returning these and go to another brand altogether. Very disappointing.

Thought these would be great because they felt fantastic. Wore them for 1 day and they front rubber started coming unglued, the soles and bottom sole edges were peeling, and they gave me blisters. I'm shocked at how badly they turned out knowing how great Hoka normally is as a brand and how expensive they are. Thankful for Zappos' amazing return policy.

My feet are flat, especially my right foot. The edge of the insoles are rough and rubbed my arch so much that 1/3 of the way into a 1 mile walk I was in pain. I don't have this problem with Brooks Adrenaline GTS or the Glycerin GTS. The cushion was great, but not worth the pain. I do think these shoes will work great for my husband who has lovely arches.

These are too wide. My foot slides left to right in these. On the plus side, my toes have lots of wiggle room. Decent cushioning. A bit softer and bouncier than other Hoka styles, nice if you like your sole to give more when you walk. The heel slips and flicks. Overall the whole shoe is too wide. I don’t understand how Hoka has inconsistent widths across different styles. I tried another style in the wide and it was too narrow.

I had high hopes for these shoes, but I didn’t care for them. They’re stiff and uncomfortable. I also didn’t like how wide they look in the toe area. They made my already too big feet look clownish. I returned them.

when i purchased and wore the gaviota 4 , it was a dream come true. they were a little narrow up front but the comfort and support was amazing. I have flat feet and a problem back, I felt the 4 were perfect. then i tried the 5. the 5 was wider in the toe area but it was so very uncomfortable. please bring the former construction.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They say their shoes are supportive. The pair i just bought FROM HOKA have an upper that is thin and flimsy, far from supportive. The midsole collapsed after TWO FLIPPING WEEKS HOKA has cheapened and sold out

First week or two was great, though I do not like how the toe was roomier. 2 weeks later and I am hating the shoe!! My left hip and knee are killing me when wearing them, few hours out of them I am fine. Try again and the pain comes right back. I cannot return them to the store because they have been used, I cannot afford another pair right now as my husband has glioblastoma brain cancer so I am stuck!

I run On the tread two days a week for 30-45 minutes at a time. One month in, the insole has friction, giving me a blister.

I called Hoka and they said this is a plush shoe with the new H frame and that it should feel similar to the ARAHI 6 which they disconntinued. sole is way too hard - not sure what makes it plush which is supposedly the softest cushion of all offered in Hoka shoes. The new H frame does not work for me. They should should NOT discontinue the J frame. Very disappointed in this shoe. It's like pulling teeth getting anyone at customer service at Hoka that has any expertise at all. A few years back they had very knowledgeable employees - not the case anymore. The person that recommended the Gaviota 5 was terrific in her knowledge and promised that if the Gaviota did not work she would easily be reached by email and work with me until we found the shoe best comfortable for my feet. She sounded super sincere and knows all the shoes over many years going back. Well lots of emails and all of a sudden she is not available and back to the run around. I have been wearing hokas since 2016 24/7 and have a toe joint issue so super disappointed that I can't get the service I need

have no idea and wish someone could tell me where to find a shoe similar to the Arahi 6

The shoes overall feel comfortable, but there is a constant sensation in the right shoe as though there's a foreign object pressing against just above the center of my foot. I've checked the shoe and my socks multiple times but cannot find any bumps or objects that would cause this feeling, but it's immediately obvious every time I put the shoe on. This was not a thing with my last pair of Hokas and it is so consistent/obvious that it creates an annoying discomfort and distracts my focus. The right shoe also feels like it's constantly in danger of slipping down my ankle; the left does not have this problem. I'll be returning these shoes.

While they are comfortable new, I'm disappointed that after only a month of use (mostly running), the sponginess is gone. It's like running on concrete. Also, they're advertised for supination. I noticed no correction at all. They are good for walking but not running. I'll stick with my ASICS NOVABLAST 5.

I loved these shoes when I purchased them. After a month of wearing them the bottom is falling apart. Expected way more for a shoe that was well rated and cost almost 200 dollars. Checked into the warranty and having to mail the shoes back for evaluation is impossible now since I spent the money and don't really have the money to replace them. So I am stuck with a shoe I'll have to reglue the sole to myself.

Aesthetically these are my favorite Hokas, but out of the several styles of Hokas I have purchased, they are the least comfortable by far. They chafe my inner foot close to the heel so much that I have had to stop wearing them. I purchased they gray with blue trim, so maybe the other colors are less chafing in this style.

My feet suck, and it's hard for me to find something that works very well. These aren't cutting it and they are noisy to walk in. I'm sending them back and trying something else. I truly appreciate Hoka's return policy and will try a different model.

I bought these shoes sept 9 2024 as far as comfort they are good and I really do like the shoe the only problem I have is I'm barley at 6 months of wearing the shoes and the back part of the shoe is always wore out and I have worn other shoes for a year over a year and that does not happen which is why I give it a two star if I'm going to play $100 plus for some shoes I expect the quality of the shoe to at least last a year or a little over a year

I purchased my first pair of Hoka Gaviota walking shoes about three years ago and loved them. The last two pair I ordered appear to be wide, although they are a size 8B. They look exceptionally large and make my feet look exceptionally large. No longer happy with my Hoka walking shoes.

Shoe was way too wide and as a result felt like it gave me no support. Also contributed to making the shoe look very unattractive
