I have 3 pairs of previous Gaviota styles, and I loved them. But the Gaviota 5 is an entirely different shoe. Toe box is too big and there is not the cushion I expected. I returned, very dissatisfied, and bought an ASICS Gel-Kayano 30. They feel like my old Gaviota!

The back tab on the left shoe completely shredded within days of delivery- it's a defective product and the HOKA team have been unreachable to arrange an exchange for me.

I've been wearing the Gaviota for a few years. I got this one home and wore it for 5 days. My ankles, knees and hip were killing me so I went back to my old worn out pair. I called customer service yesterday and they told me that they thought the frame was changed from a J frame to a H frame since the last time I bought a pair (last September). She recommended that I try the Arahi because it's on the J frame. So, I'm sending these back and ordered the Arahi to try.

These shoes are not comfortable my ankles were sore after one day. No support. I have 2 pair bondi 7. The best. And they stooped making the bondi 7 for women. Bondi 7 is better for arthritis feet.

Relied on these for many years for work and anytime I'll be on my feet for long periods of time and the changes have ruined what was once a great shoe that highly recommended to everyone. Where 8D and the changes made them run half size too big, the toe box is way too big, the heel has no support and feels lower than rest of shoe and the footed does not feel as supportive as it used too. Had an awful foot injury many years ago that that took several surgeries to somewhat correct and Gaviotas were one of the only walking type shoes I could wear, believe me i tried several, that helped my feeg not hurt so bad at the emd of the day. Until you changed them. Please please change them back! These new changes not only make my feet hurt so bad but my knees too. Had to exchange the 8D for 7.5D and that took way longer than should have even by your own policy and would've taken even longer had I not called several times because I never received any communication regarding the exchange. Took a month after you guys got my shoes back to get the smaller size.

These shies were recommended by several people to help relieve issues with my feet. The first day wearing them, my issues were so much worse I could hardly walk.

I've been buying the Gaviota for years and never had a problem. I bought the new design about 4-5 months ago and after wearing them a couple of times I've been dealing with foot issues ever since. They are too wide and I'm not sure what else is different but they are problematic. Bring back the former design please. I'm wearing my older ones while the new pair I bought sits in my closet in the box. I'm so disappointed and trying to decide what to do next.

I tried this style instead of a Mach 5. I loved my Mach 5s. The lacing grommets on this style rub my ankles and hurt so much that I can't even wear these for casual wear, let alone my 3 mile daily walk. Color was pretty, cushioning is good, but I had to send them back.

I purchased a pair of Gaviota 5shoes and am SO disappointed. I have gone through 6 pairs of the previous versions of this shoe and loved them so much. The 5 is a completely different shoe. It's getting returned.

My first and last pair of Hoka shoes had the eyelet rip apart. I have worn various brands of athletic shoes over 50+ years and this is a first. Hoka would not stand by their product because I had them for 14 months even though they were only worn during winter months because they were black. The good news is I hadn't yet ordered a second pair in a fun color.

I heard really good comments about this shoes and how comfortable they are but I guess it was another style, this shoes made me cry because of the pain the only time I used them, they look nice but I wasn't expecting that. definitely returning this shoes.

I have had these for 2 months and they are already falling apart. I only wear them to work out about 3 times each week. They're comfortable but that's the only positive.

I had been wearing Hoka Gavitota for several years, each year buying the new verision. The 5 version unfortunately seems completely different from the previous. It's much bigger and wider and my feet were swimming in them. My usual inserts did not work in these. I wish I had trusted my instinct and returned them right away, but instead despite this discomfort I kept wearing them until my foot pain was too much and my plantar fasciitis had worsened. I have since learned about zero drop shoes and realized that the hokas despite their cushy feel are really not good for our feet.

Haven't been able to wear this shoe since the Gaviota 3. Both the 4 and 5 versions are so wide I can't even tighten them enough and I don't have narrow feet. I ended up buying the Arahi but they don't have as much support or cushioning. I really wish Hoka hadn't changed the design of the Gaviota as much as they did. I have been wearing their shoes for years but I may have to start looking at other brands. Too bad.

The amount of pain my feet are in only compare to the most recent onclouds I purchased. The balls of my feet hurt constantly. These shoes have no padding on the inside sole. They are not comfortable at all. The toe box is big enough for all ten of my toes. For reference I am a very petite size 5. I do not recommend! The coloring of the shoe is nice.

I wear an 8 1/2 and that size in this shoe was too large overall, almost like it was marked incorrectly!

That Gaviotas used to be my go to shoe. With this 5th version, they have done everything to cost reduce the shoe and increase their profit margin. I would rather pay more for the shoe and have the cushion and the support than pay the same amount and get a cheaply made version! Extremely disappointed.

This product was very disappointing. I was extremely excited to jog today but the quality is very underwhelming this product hurts my feet every step, I can usually do 10 miles but today I could only do one mile because the underwhelming lack of material and cushion they have. Very awful pair of running shoes.

I read all the reviews before deciding to but. I will say that a couple reviews stated that the toe area was big. Big is an understatement, I looked like I had clown shoes on. I loved the color. I so wanted to love them. But for the money, I don't think I would wear them.
