The size and fit is very good! Unfortunately, the material is very thin so it wears quickly and holes start forming in the toe area.

I have a bad knee. This shoe has good support. Not as soft as a Clifton. Order a size up from your regular size. All my Hoka's run smaller than my regular shoe.

This shoe felt great, but has a stiff piece of plastic in front of the toes that made it feel short. Cliftons and Arahis fit great; I would order a half size larger if you can (no 15.5 sadly)

Toe box not roomy enough, Bondi's are better for me. I planned on returning but not spending $50 on postage to send to England.

I'm a large heavy guy and this is my third or fourth pair of Gaviota. I have a 3 and 4 version in my garage that are very old and worn out. I had problems with the wear surface on the soles pulling off in 3 and 4 versions so I'm hoping Hoka got it better this time with version 5. The new version is a substantial change from the last two versions and the toe box is very prominent in the new version. The quality is generally okay maybe not the best on the market but still good overall. The support is outstanding in all versions 3, 4 and 5 for 2E wide for a 270 lbs 6-2 man with size 13 wide feet. I've tried the new ASICS Kayano and the front foot foam completely collapsed under the weight so I had to return those. The shoes get worn quickly and look all used up but I've worn my old pairs down until there is almost no tread remaining but the support has been very good and consistent throughout the life of the shoe. I've tried to find suitable alternatives but haven't really had any luck finding a better option that the Gaviota.

Gaviotas were recommended to me for stability and arch support. They have given me great relief.

Love the color and looks but I feel like the Bondi 9 is more comfortable for my feet so I'll probably go back to those. Sloghtly too tight so I lossened the strings alot.

Very comfortable, but a little worried about the width. Don't want to "catch an edge" and trip.

I tried the Transport X - it had a plate suited for runners and I am a walker. I exhanged those for Bondi B3LS, very comfortable but something felt off. Researched further and found these. The Gaviota 5's are much better than the others for me.I pair with a set of Pinnacle by Powerstep. RIdes great. Roomy toe box for those who appreciate fanning our toes.

Yoooooo, these shoes work. I'm a Door man that stands my entire 8 hr shift. Got a bad knee that was not liking this one bit. Wife suggested HOKA. Now when I wear them I have no issue. Only down side is, I gotta get more pairs/colors to go with outfits other than ORANGE lol. Thx

I use this shoe to do a lot of walking and standing. I love the combination of stability, plush comfort and smooth transition from heel to toe. My only criticism is that it appears a little larger than my previous brand.

Let me preface this by saying that I'm a big guy, so I'm probably naturally putting more strain on these shoes than most people. That said, I was super excited when I found the Gaviota 5. Because of my size, most shoes just aren't supportive enough. I had previously worn Brooks for years, but started falling out of love with them and wanted to try something new. I typically wear a 4E, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the Wide Gaviota for me perfectly. The support was amazing out of the box, feeling like I was walking on clouds, but not to the point of feeling overly soft. The only reason I'm deducting a star is that the material on the bottom has started to break down noticeably after about two months of wear. I also noticed the support starting to lessen around that time. Again, I'm a bigger guy and I'm sure this is probably not abnormal given the amount of walking I do. But I really can't afford to drop nearly $200 on shoes every 2-3 months, so it's kind of a bummer they haven't held up a bit better.

I have fallen arches and bunions prior to wearing Hoka Gaviotas, I wore either the Brooks Beast or New Balance 990s, and I always experienced pain in my bunions. Since switching to the Gaviota, the pain has disappeared. The Gaviota design removes a lot of the pressure on my toe and I can once again walk comfortably. If I were to review the shoe on comfort alone, I would unquestionably give it a 5. Unfortunately, I have one complaint, and it is not insignificant. The shoes wear out too fast. This is probably a by product of the comfort. The soles are extremely spongy. This takes up a lot of the impact of walking resulting in a high level of comfort. However, the soles wear out very quickly. Hoka puts a harder material in rings on the surface of the shoes, but it doesn't do that much good. I pronate, and I wear through the ring and the sole in about two months. To be fair, I walk a lot - 9 miles a day - but I got twice the wear out of the New Balance and Brooks shoes, so I'm paying a big premium for the Hokas. Still, I can't give up the comfort, and I'll just keep paying it.

I went with a different color; the blue was bluer than I expected from the online pictures. So far, they've made a difference in the way my feet feel, in a good way. I have flat feet, and my podiatrist said that as we age the arch collapses further and spreads out the foot. So I needed arch support and a larger toe box. I also have arthritis in one toe, so I needed the extra cushioning. My podiatrist said he has these, and my sister also recommended (she has the Bondi). The rocking motion when walking takes some getting used to. I live in a cold winter climate, and most mesh coverings don't provide insulation, so there's that. Overall, I think I will be happy with them.

I’m 5’10” and 250lbs trying to get active to help lose weight. Finding shoes that are wide and supportive is challenging. These are a great option. I’ve put just over 40 miles on mine between the treadmill, asphalt steer and concrete sidewalk. I ordered my typical size and these fit true, maybe slightly wide compared to other Hoka’s I’ve tried. They’re very stable side-to-side and heel-to-toe. The arch is moderate but not high, so it’s probably good for most people. Overall, this is a very good shoe for walkers/joggers needing a wide fit and extra support.

Love the shoes, most comfortable I've ever worn. I'm on my feet all day and love the cushioning. Only negative is that the pull tab frays very easily. Hoka replaced my shoes and the second pair are fraying as well.

I walk 3-8 miles per day as a Resort General Manager. I love orange and the comfort of the Hola shoe. It would be perfect if I knew how to clean them or prevent dirt from staining the top of the shoe. Great show, my knee does not get sore but does with other shows with less support

The sneakers looks great, the cushion is also great. It is smart and just as described. However, it feels kind of discomforting towards heels at the base of my sole of my foot It appears that the base of my foot is touching top edge of the sneakers sole on both feet. The price is also on the high side.

Even though I have a wide foot I found these to be just a bit too wide for my feet. I really liked the shoe but couldn't convince my feet to be happy.
