This shoe fits like a sock. The upper fit is tighter and more foot forming than the Ghost. I did not develop and blisters, pressure points or toe nail problems while running in these shoes. The cushioning is harder than the Ghost and Glycerin, but the resilience of the midsole is excellent or much greater than the Ghost and Glycerin. The durability of the outer sole, cushioning and resilience is greater than the Ghost and Glycerin. The outer sole began to wear through to the midsole after 500 miles, compared to the Ghost approximately 350 miles and Glycerin 200 miles. At 400 miles of running, the cushion decreased approximately 30% at toe/push off compared to Ghost and Glycerin both being shot (decreased greater than 70%) at toe/push off. The resilience of the Levitate at 500 miles of running retained approximately 90% of its original feel. This shoe is stiffer than the Ghost and Glycerin. I would recommend this shoe for tempo pace runs, intervals, short runs, and long runs.

Great fitting shoe. I especially like the greater energy return than the Ghost 14 series of shoe.

I bought the Run Merry version of the shoes. I only wear them in December as street shoes. I love how they look at feel.

I owned the levitate 1?s and recently upgraded to the 5?s. Best running shoes I?ve ever had. I tried the Ghost - it just wasn?t for me - too light and not responsive enough. The DNA amp in the Levitate makes me feel like I could run through the treadmill. I?m a HUGE fan! I love the improvements in the shoe around the heel - it?s super cushioned and comfy!

Have received multiple compliments on my new holiday shoes. They are comfortable. If available, I would have ordered them in a Wide width however.

I got these shoes going into my XC season, and I have to say, they are one of my favorite pairs of Brook's I've owned. They feel amazing and have an incredible response on the road. I have put about 310 miles on them at the time of writing this review and they are still holding up like brand new.

I thought the brand I had been buying were good until I got a pair of these 8 months ago. Not only did they feel and fit better, but they lasted way longer and I work on my feet all day outdoors. They cost more up front but they pay for themselves in comfort and lifespan of the shoe.

They are squishy on the ball at the flex point. almost as if water was trapped in them. Weird!

Overall the shoe has good quality however after the first two runs I could already feel my feet hitting the pavement, which is not what I have come to expect with Brooks shoes. BTW- I have owned about 20 pair over the past 5 years so I feel like I have a good feel for Brooks shoes. Ultimately I would still choose Brooks shoes over any other, just not these shoes.

Short review: Pros: uncomplicated, robust, secure Cons: one-trick pony, compromised through corners I?m about 120 miles in with these. Overall, I think they're great. They're not opinionated in the way that a rocker-style shoe is. They let you stride how you want, and help you maximize your efficiency. The energy return at speed is fantastic. These shoes easily blur the line between 7:30 and 6:30 pace. The forefoot is nice and wide, so they feel very stable and secure in a straight line. That said, these shoes are slightly compromised in the corners; I find myself falling off the sole when I round a bend. I wouldn't recommend these for track use, but for suburban/urban running, they're great. The uppers run hot. Not the most breathable shoe out there, but you get used to it. The uppers can feel a bit stiff until you break them in (around 10 miles or so). These shoes also struggle for traction in adverse conditions. Running through the northeast winter, ice and snow are common, and these shoes don't handle particularly well. Even in the gravel patches at the side of the road, they do not inspire a ton of confidence and give a good amount of slip. They also struggle at lower speeds. I would not take these out on a recovery run. The gait feels awkward and you can't cash in on the great energy return that these shoes offer. However, all in all, these are a great shoe. Uncomplicated, unpretentious, and energetic. If you're a suburban runner looking for a no-fuss, fast shoe, you wouldn't go wrong with these.

Great price and it?s a great show. Nit picky but it?s a bit noisy, the cushioning kind of squeaks when walking. I also got a half size big but that is my fault. I should have ordered my normal side instead of guessing I needed bigger.

I bought these for use when winter is over. Too bad Brooks doesn't offer lace up boots. I currently am using Merrill boots. For winter, they are warm, comfortable and have great support.
