I ordered a wide, but one shoe felt tighter than the other one. I thought since they were leather they would stretch. They have not. I have worn the same size EASTlands for over 5 years... maybe my feet grew? I like Eastlands because yhey are comfortable AND durable so I will order them again just in a larger size I guess.

Unfortunately, these just didn't work for me. Even though I ordered a wide (as I always do), the second I put these on I knew the toe box was too narrow and too shallow. Also the heel was too wide and too shallow; didn't work at all with my orthotics. I've had much better luck with Clarks wide shoes.

Eh. Besides looking clumpy, they had a very tight section across the top of the foot that rubs with every step. The heel rubs badly and the fabric doesn't give at all. Definitely would not recommend. I wear an 8 ww and have a high arch.

Have had 2 pair of Newports. They are comfortable all day, good for walking, look good with jeans. Leather stays good looking; however, on both pair the sole cracked all the way through right under the ball of the foot. Any precipitation leaves you with wet feet. I really like these shoes except for the sole problem; the second pair only lasted 6 months before cracking.

Eastland’s Newport Shoe - I purchased these shoes a number of years ago. The width ran small, but after "breaking the shoe in" it fit perfectly. The only thing I did not like about this shoe is that the soles didn’t last - not from wear but because the soles cracked and split letting rain water in.

Not an all day, on your feet, shoe - These shoes look great and fit well, but lack something in long wear comfort. The sole is stiff and the insole is hard and lacking arch support. It took me longer than normal to wear these shoes in, so that they were not causing me discomfort over short standing/walking distance. I would not recommend them for long term standing situations.

Not attractive, but comfy. This is my least favorite of the Eastland shoes that I own. Not for the comfort, becasue it is a comfortable shoe, but for the boring looks of this shoe.

The shoes are a bit clunky and the space between the foot bed and the top of the shoe is to tight. My feet felt like they were being squeezed together from the top and bottom.

Buyer beware! Listen to the others when they refer to the shoe splitting across the bottom of the foot. Yes, they are comfortable, but they only lasted two months before splitting! They are my work shoes, and I sit at a desk, so they certainly were not over-used. If the company ever figures out how to correct that issue, they would be great shoes. Until then, find something else.

This is my second pair of Eastland Newports; I could barely squeeze my foot in the shoe! How could the sizing be so different for this shoe when everything else I order is always 8.5 medium? Pay attention to all the reviews that warned that the shoe is not true to size and save yourself some time.

These shoes were too tight and narrow (even in the wide width I ordered) for me to put my foot fully into the shoe. Too bad because they looked really sturdy and comfortable.

I read all the reviews about this shoe and decided to buy it anyway. The shoe is very tight and I ended up taking to a shoe maker to have it stretched. When I started to wear it, I realize just how little arch support there is. I had a pair of Eastlands many years ago and they were very comfortable. I don't wear these very often and I should have returned them. Definitely order a 1/2 size up.

Have worn Eastland Newports for several years. The last pair that I bought were much narrower and the quality of the shoe was far less than previous purchases. I had to go to an extra wide which I can't even get anymore at Zappos or anywhere else it seems. They were not as comfortable - not sure what has happened to Eastland quality, but I'm shopping for another brand.

Split soles - I have had problems with the soles on this type of shoe. After about a year of wear this tends to happen. The bottom of the soles always split in half and water leaks in and that makes the shoe very uncomfortable especially when it’s raining or snowing.

It wasn't the fit and size it was the horrible quality. The part of the shpe where the stitching is looked like a 2 year old was in charge of making the shoes.

I bought four pair of these when they went on sale for work, all the soles have split where your foot bends in every single pair. They are not waterproof either.

I loved a pair of these that I long ago wore out. I ordered a new pair (9W) 2 months ago, but sent them back. They fit, but the front end of one of the shoes was defective. I just now got around to ordering two new pairs (one black, one brown) figuring that it was a slam dunk...but not at all. They now have an inflexible, hard rubber sole, and were so narrow that I could barely squeeze them on my feet. Bummer!

Split soles under ball of foot after about 9 months of wear. I love the shoe but will not buy another pair. I am very disappointed. I thought they would last at least 2 or more years. Not 9 months.

I've bought two pairs of these shoes and ran into the same problem others have. The sole on the left shoe cracked at the ball of the foot after about 9-11 months. In both cases the soles are in good shape with plenty of wear left. I thought the first one was a fluke so I bought another pair but the same thing happend on the second pair. I would love to buy another pair but it looks like this is a common problem. The shoes are very comfortable even after 10 hours of being on my feet. That being said I don't think I will buy another pair until the problem with the soles are worked out.

Great looking show but the sole broke/cracked in half on both shoes all the way through after 6 months of use. The souls weren't even close to being worn out when this happened. The cracks are right under the ball of the foot and make the shoes unusable. Zappos is standing behind it so that is good, but this shoe has some quality control issues.

This shoe seems to run small. I always wear a 7.5 W but I couldn't even get my foot into these.

I was looking forward to these because of the great reviews but the wide really isn't wide. I couldn't even put them on my foot! So, I can't tell you anymore about them except that they look great!

This is a nice shoe, but I bought 3 pair, and the soles cracked in half on all 3 pairs. Zappos actually replaced one pair for me, but I won't be buying another pair with the same soles.

I had a pair of Eastland Newport shoes for about 8 years, and I finally had to get a new pair because the insides wore out. (The outside still looked great though!) Well, these are not the same quality Eastlands. After only a couple months, the bottoms of both shoes are split straight across the ball of the foot. Not a minor crack, but actual broken soles. I see a couple other people had the same problem. I am extremely disappointed.

I bought these shoes in April and hardly had time to wear them thanks to the warm weather that shortly approached. I saved them for the fall. They were comfortable enough to wear with Jeans. Now it's October and I have since gotten only 8 uses before the shoes broke. They broke straight across the bottom of the ball of the shoe. I would never buy these again.
