I purchased the Large in Camo and absolutely love it! It fits two sweaters/sweatshirts, tons of sunscreen bottles, wallets, multiple metal drink coozies, hats, a towel, you name it. This is my going out for the whole day and no idea where it will take us bag... beach? boat? tiki bar? I'm ready! The waterproof lining is a super plus on the boat. I then purchased the Medium to use to run errands or going out to lunch, when not carrying a day's worth of possibilities. I monogrammed both in two different styles and they both look great. One negative, as someone else mentioned - the handles on the Large and Medium are too short to put over your shoulder. Not such a big deal on the Medium, but a pretty big negative on the Large which holds so much stuff and can get a little heavy. But still, I love them both. Our cat approves, too. (See pic.)

I read the reviews, checked out the measurements via a measuring tape, etc and still this bag was much larger than expected when it arrived! I got a large hoping to use it for work, to hold my stuff + a laptop but it's much too big for that! Definitely should have ordered a medium. The measurements listed are for the bottom of the bag but it really flares out at the top making it much larger than expected. Absolutely love the print and quality but unless you want a huge tote for travel, I would advise going with a medium.

Purchased as a gift, because I love mine so much! It holds everything and is great to pack when traveling in case an extra bag is needed. My only complaint is the monogram on my most recently purchased bag is way undersized for the bag dimensions. If I want something personalized, it's go big or go home.

I love the tote very sturdy however it does not have an inside pocket to small items to get to fast. I use mine as a purse and it's frustrating to dig to the bottom looking for lip balm or other small items.

Durable and large. Great for the beach or pool club. Just wish it had a holder for keys and one or two small pockets for phone, etc.

Have had other Bean bags in past. We were looking for a beach friendly bag.Ordered this bag and are not disappointed. The entire bag is made of pliable waterproof material. Very Large, solid, strong and seems quite durable~ all that we could have hoped for. Carrying handles are sewn all the way to the bottom. It does the job and then some!! However, ordered it in woodland camo, but received completely olive drab bag~ other than that, no issues with product!!

I ordered the Large and have this same bag in Extra Large and was expecting the same size handles. Unfortunately for some reason LL Bean put 6" drop handles on this bag instead of the same 12.5" drop handles as the Extra Large even tho the large is only 2" smaller in width and height. Very disappointed in the smaller handles as it can't be used to carry on your shoulder. Otherwise great bag.

We purchased this tote bag for my husband to gather last minute things before he gets out of the house. He uses this for hunting trips, fishing trips, or just to run errands with me in town. He throws in his reading materials, water bottles, tablet, etc to sit in the car and read while I visit shops. We like it so very much. Our only wish is a small inside pocket to throw in keys, a chapstick, or small items for each reach. I attached a small canvas zippered pouch to hang inside the bag (looped around the handle) to remedy it. It works out. We definitely recommend this tote bag.

This bag is so much bigger than I thought it would be but it's great. I thought I could use it as a handbag but it's more like a beach bag, throw everything in bag. I use it on days I go to the gym before work, I can put my purse and my change of clothes in it. It's made really well but I would still love an inside zip pouch. I use poufs and such to keep my stuff organized inside so it works out.

This bag is very well made and a great size. Perfect for the beach, or going grocery shopping. It seems like it will last forever. My only complaint is no pocket. It could use one or two small pockets for cell phone, ear buds, wallet etc. With a pocket or two it would be the perfect bag. Also wish it was made in the USA but I understand that is not always possible.

It's a lovely tote to carry on a daily basis. If the tote has at least one or two pockets, it would be even more wonderful. So I bought an bag organizer to solve this issue.

...but I finally bought the correct size! I love these totes and now have them in all three sizes, two with my monogram, one without, all in camo! I get complimented on them whenever I go out. I was looking for an all purpose tote to go food shopping and run errands with. I'm not sure why I decided to get the extra large. It is HUGE, and has become my travel tote. The second one I bought was the small.It's really small, and I use it to tote around gym clothes and store returns. Still on the hunt for the perfect size, I also bought the large. This was really the one I was looking for all along. It truly is the perfect all purpose tote. The quality is great, and I know that they will last for a long time. I only wish that the straps were a little longer. I can get it on my shoulder, but it's not super comfortable. All in all I love them and am happy with my purchases.

I love my personalized tote but I wish it had an outside pocket or an inside pocket.

I love the bag and would probably use it everyday if the straps were about 2 inches longer so you could put on your shoulder easily . More important is that it should have a pocket inside the bag, even if you have to charge more for the bag. With a inside pocket you can easily throw your keys in that and maybe some credit cards and won't have to dig to the bottom to get these items. If these two things were changed it would be the best bag in the world.

I purchased this bag in the camo print to use as a school bag. I love it and get compliments on it constantly. It's tough as nails, waterproof, and no frills. The zipper on the top is strong. If I could change something, it would be to let the handle-drop be LONGER - even by just an inch - so I can more comfortably wear it on my shoulder.

No doubt this tote will last longer than me. The only drawback is the top kind of flops over when trying to load it at the grocery store. Then my 6 year old nephew suggested I push a thin stick down into the seam overlap on each end of the bag. Why didn't I think of that. Or maybe it was tailored that way to do that. IDK. It helps quite a bit, but my second bag has the zip top on it which solves all the problem because it is stiffer all around.

I really love this bag. The medium is perfect for an everyday tote bag and thats what I use it for. Prior to the medium I ordered the large and its just too big for everyday use, It would be good to haul to the beach or a picnic. Great sturdy bag and stylish too. I just wish the handles were a little longer and you could throw it in the laundry. But other than that, a great bag. I love how the inside is water proof and you can just wipe it down when need be.

Thank you to LL Bean for great customer service agent that got my new bag with monogramming to me in 2 days. The bag is huge - just what I needed to tote around towels, drinks and washers on the beach. It' very sturdy and has a polished feel to it. I was able to change the thread color for the monogramming, but the size relative to the bag is too small. It'll have to do.

A little smaller than the popular medium sized tote bag, but with the waterproof lining it is the perfect bag for me to grab and tote last minute stuff on my ATV here in the mountains. Very sturdy.

Hunter's Tote Bag is very sturdy. I wish the straps were a couple of inches longer but overall very durable and I will enjoy using it. I picked the black color because I need to put in on the floor often and the thick weave is great at deflecting dirt.

I got this for my husband, the hunter. I like the fact that it has a water-proof lining. I'd like to see other designs with this feature. I could use one to put my snowy, wet xc ski boots into.

All the reviews talked about the tote being easy to clean. I bought it to hold towels when going to the pool or beach. When we get home we hang our towels in the garage and hang the bag on a hook so it is open to dry. I have had my tote for maybe 2 years and it smells like mold. I have used cleaning products and hung it inside out and entire off season and can't get the smell to go away. It says not to wash it but that might be the last thing i try since I am now looking at other brands to replace it so i don't have moldy smell with me at the pool.

Good bag - well-constructed and good colors. I would buy again.

I purchased this bag in the XL and L last year. The XL has been used more than the L, but they both have a musty/moldy/mildew smell. I have occasionally had damp towels, but then leave the bag empty to dry. It's a shame because I've tried using clorox wipes, leaving it inside out in the sun, and everything in between. It's a shame, because now I cannot use them to pack clothes in for risk of smell transferring. Any thoughts LL Bean?

Just received it. It seems that it is very well made bag but the model on the website shows that he is using a shoulder strap but this bag actually does not come with a shoulder strap, only handle. I was looking for a medium size bag with a strap so I am returning.
