I want to start off by saying I love love love this day bag. It's the perfect size for the average newbie hiker with plenty of pockets. Side pocket fits my 32oz water bottle easily. I purchased the burgundy color and it is a true burgundy color. Two complaints: a standard iPhone (not Max) does not fit in the easy access pocket. A half inch more and it would fit! Next, this bag does not fit in the stowaway bag no matter how you fold it. I've tried flipping it inside out to make it more compact, with no luck. It seems that the straps are what keep it from fitting in the stowaway bag. The straps are thick and sturdy, which I appreciate! You can absolutely fold this up into a small bag but it will not fit in the one included by LL Bean.

This is now my daily work bag. Fits my lunch, a book and a notebook, with room to spare. Pop my coffee in the stretchy side pocket, and Im off! Love all the pockets and the chest-level strap. I take long walks most days, and this is very comfortable to wear for long stretches. Look forward to using it for day hikes as well!

I bought this bag when my kids were on the verge of aging out of the diaper bag, but still needed all the things (snacks, wipes, water bottles). It's perfect for that. My kids are 5 and 7 now and I've had this bag for at least 3 years. I carry wipes, snacks, water bottles, extra clothes, first aid kit, etc. This bag has a lot of room in it and is very comfortable to wear for errands, day trips, and vacations. I keep mine in the car so that I always have it handy.

I've purchased two of these packs for people in the past and they are great. Pretty basic, lightweight pack for day trips and travel. I bring mine with me on every trip I go on. I was going to buy my niece one, but the color choices are a bummer. Bring back that cute purple/green/blue one. Mine is kelly green and I love it. The current colors are so drab.

Bought two different colors for upcoming hiking trip in Utah. Havent tested it yet there but start using it to work. Finally I have something comfortable to carrying my laptop, notebooks and other essentials which overall are very heavy. Plus I get so many complaints from the navy backpack so I can only imagine when I will debut my teal one:)

I needed a lightweight backpack for work. This Stowaway Pack is perfect for me. It is roomy with plenty of pockets.

I have two of these and have purchased others for family members. The Stowaway will be with me on my upcoming trip to Portugal for day trips and light hiking. It takes patience to stuff it into its stowaway mode but practice makes perfect. My only suggestion would be to make the side pockets deeper.

Purchased this in navy color and its easy to wear (carry). Recently used on a hike-easily holds water bottles, gear and wallet. The pouch will be perfect for travel.

I am glad I got this. It carries things well and is convenient.

I purchased one of these for myself years ago, love it. My husband commented many times about how light weight it is and with plenty of space and nice features. So I purchased one for him. He loves it.

Make sure you like the color when you buy an LL Bean backpack. They last so long that you will be looking at it for many years.

I bought it 10 years ago and I love its practibability but the seams started to be destroyed After 1 year.i keep loosing stuff. I thought these bags were guaranteed for life. I want to have a New one but the New colors are too classic for me.

Love it...it's light and strong. We've bought these for all of our kids to replace old day packs.

Good bag with nice color - I got the teal with red straps, etc. I haven't used it yet. Purchased for an upcoming trip to South Asia. Looking forward to packing it for underneath my airline seat. However, check the bag over carefully. Mine had a small (about 2 inches) break in the seam of the inner, top pocket (where you would store passport, wallet, etc.). As it was easily repairable and I did not want the hassle of returning, I just sewed the seam myself. Just check out yours to make sure there is nothing similar.

This pack is the perfect size for day hikes and travel. I take it on my trips as my personal item along with my carry on size bag. Everything I need for a week to 10 days can fit and I dont have to deal wit baggage claim at the end of my trip.

I would highly recommend this item..especially for old-er travelers. It held quite a bit of stuff and packed nicely. Was very easy to handle both on the ground and putting it in the overhead bin of the plane! Good stuff!!

Perfect size and weight to use as a carryall while touring cities. The extra pockets are useful and there are mesh exterior pockets for a water bottle and travel umbrella. It also folds down to a small size to pack into your duffle bag.

This is not a gender specific pack. Didnt fit me very well. But seems like a good and lightweight pack.

This is a well built and designed pack. It was just what I was looking for although a good bit smaller that I was hoping for. It is so hard to tell size from the dimensions and photos. If you need a smaller bag this is it.

I like the pack. Lightweight and holds a good amount. My one complaint is the side pockets that hold the water bottles are not very deep. When the pack is full, the water bottle pockets are compressed and the bottles pop out, especially when they are empty and light.

Just what I needed for a carry-on! It could be a bit bigger (longer not wider) for my purposes.
