I bought the size XL for men's shoes size 12 to 15. My man could not even get his foot to start going in these socks. And he wears a size 14 shoe. They are not as stretchy as advertised and I am not a fan of the plastics included in this wool sock. And I'm not paying $6.50 to send them back after paying six dollars to have them shipped to me, which I now see they are dropping their shipping fees in an attempt to get more Christmas sales. Thanks L.L. Bean! I am utterly disgusted with these socks and will have to now give them to someone with much smaller feet. They do not stretch to accommodate large feet as advertised. In fact, they fit my feet, a lady size 8 while wearing a pair of thicker socks. There is no way my man is going to get these on his feet. I can't trust L.L. Bean sizing.

I loved these socks but they have two holes in the heel. I have only worn them maybe 10 times but probably less. I have other socks from llbean that have lasted me over 20 years so this was a total disappointment.

They're MASSIVE. Don't get these unless you want socks long enough to play socket in. Immediate return. Not worth the $45 either.

the seams at the toes of these socks end in a small knot and that knot is very uncomfortable almost immediately upon lacing up and starting to hike.

I purchased two pairs in May 2023 to replace the two pairs I have had for years. Within six months all four socks had holes in the heels. I wore each pair about once a week, meaning they had holes in them and were useless after wearing each pair about 50 times. I can only assume that either materials or the manufacturing process has changed.

I purchased 4 pairs. They fit ok but 3 out of 4 pairs are already beginning to show signs of wear on the toes and heels. I've only laundered them 2 or 3 times. I don't think they'll last very long.

wrong size inside plastic bag. the sock said medium. however the outside of the bag said small socks which i ordered. I seemed to get a run around when i asked for the next shipmen to please to open the plastic bag to confirm the the socks were not medium its self before you send the second shipment. i want the corrrect small size which i ordered the first time which small. i have no faith in the staff at all the person on the phone said no.

I was hoping to really like these. They are not good quality. They stretched out as I wore them. The worse part was when I washed them. They came apart. Will reach out to LL bean for a refund.

Material wore out too fast on the heels. Given the expensive price, the socks should last longer.

The cause of the abrasion to the sock were LL Bean hiking shoes, which I like very much. So I guess LL Bean wool ragg socks are not compatible with LL Bean shoes! I have purchased llbean wool rage socks twice. The first time I got a three pack and the heels all holed within 6 months. In Sept I purchased a pair of Merion solid Ragg Socks, after a few months they started to hole. Today I made my fist trip this year to LL Bean and I hoped to exchange these sock, I was told I could not do this return due to excessive wear, I very much disagree and indeed feel this return falls into the one year 100%. I don't buy socks to keep in my dresser drawer, I actually wear them!

Ordered these socks for my husband because they came sized for a 12-15 shoe. My husband wears a size 14 shoe and these socks didn't even go on his foot because they were too tight to get on. Very disappointed.

I hate to write a bad review because I used to love these socks. I own about 10 pairs of the previous style. This new pair is completely different. They are stretched out and don't hold their shape and the quality has gone way downhill/they are much lighter in weight and not as warm. PLEASE bring back the old style!!

Title says it all. I purchased two pair and there's already a hole in the heel of one of the socks. Not acceptable.

I WORE THE WOOL SOCKS FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY 12/19/22. WHEN I REMOVED MY SHOES THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE SOCK ON THE SIDE OF MY FOOT. EITHER POOR WOOL OR TERRIBLE WORKMANSHIP. ORDERED LAST YEAR AND STILL WEARING THOSE.

I'm updating my recent review, because I ordered two pairs of rag wool socks and now THREE of the four have holes in the heels. I've only worn them around the house for a few weeks, and they're already falling apart. Very poor quality, will not buy these again.

Toe has line across that totally ruins the socks. It hurts my toes in whatever shoe or boot I wear. What happened to the traditional wool socks that had different construction and lasted for years.

Absolutely horrid quality with thick seam that rides on the tops of your toes. Returned.

The socks are too small. I ordered the largest size. I wear 10.5 shoe and these are just too tight. I have other wool socks from another company and these are uncomfortable feeling on my feet. I would not recommend them and wish I had not ordered them. On a positive note, the color is very nice.

I thought the 10" measurement was from the ankle up - I had purchased the 15" socks a couple years ago - very disappointing the 15" socks are not available. I returned the short socks.

Heels worn out in 6 mo.

These are very thick heavy wool socks not what I expected.

Too big/loose. Didn't fit snug on my feet. I wear a size 9 women's. Returned.

I was very excited to receive these socks after waiting two months. Unfortunately they were so scratchy and uncomfortable I had to return them. I was very disappointed in the quality of wool and doubly disappointed to get charged $6.50 to return them. I will not order from llbean again.

The socks tore after the third time I wore them, I discovered this flaw when I took off my shoe and my big toe was protruding through the sock. Very disappointed with this purchase
