I am an 82 year old active woman. My legs swell now during the day and these socks are not too tight like so many of my "cute" socks. I was concerned that they might be too itchythey're not at all and they're soft and comfy. I'm going to always have these socks

An old favorite! I just got some more for my first long Alaskan winter. Seems like I've been buying these socks since the 80's and they're just as high quality as they were back then. Warm, thick, comfortable, never itchy, and so tough they last for years with daily wear. They don't shrink in the washer and dryer, and they don't get thin in the heels and toes the way other top brands do. I miss the purple, forest green, and brown ones that finally wore out after about 15 years, but the new colors are always fun, too. Great for work, hiking, beach combing, snow, rain, or just kicking around the house.

As an older person, my feet are always cold! Sox plus slippers don't do it. So I tried these thick, washable wool sox and I love them! I wear them in the early morning and in the evening while I am watching the news. They wash without shrinkage of course. Best cold weather sox I've found. Can't wear them with regular sized sneakers or course; too thick.

Bought my first pair around 30 years ago. The warmest, most comfortable and durable ever. Wear them with jeans and slacks.

Very impressed with these socks. Love the color (I ordered Navy) and the warmth. But I'm especially impressed with the size. The Small is a true small (my shoe size is 6.5), so I don't have any bunching around the toes when I slip my shoes on. So glad Bean offers a small with these socks, as it can be hard to find Small socks in wool. Also--HOORAY that the package arrived in a paper bag instead of that awful green plastic shipping bag. SO grateful about that--much better for the environment. Go Bean!

They have elastic in the weave - rather then just woven socks

Soft , thick and warm and I would definitely recommend these to people who have cold feet.

These are so squishy and amazing! I had gotten the medium at first for my size 9 (women’s) feet, but were at the max of the length of my feet, stretching the fabric in such a way that I knew it’d create holes too fast. So I exchanged for a large, and WOW! These are so warm and wonderful!
