This hat is not as large as I thought it might be.

my friend bought this for me cause i was in love with it, it was really comfortable and warm. however don't let your dog get it as mine ate the fix from the top

Love the warmth but it's a weird shape. Seems like the liner is too small leaving "ears" on each side of my head in the wool layer

I have a small head, so this review should be read with that in mind, but this hat did not fit me properly. It is slightly folded towards the top so instead of a normal beanie fit, it almost looks like I have a misshapen growth on the top of my head where the top of the hat flops over slightly. But again, this may be because I have a smaller head that doesn't fill out the top of the hat. I would like to see a photo added to this product page of a woman wearing the hat to see what it is supposed to look like on. Also, the actual color of the hat (spruce) is much darker and greener in person. I love the color in the photo and I like the color in person, but it does not look like the same color. All that said, I love LL Bean winter hats in general--they are typically warmer than winter hats I have bought almost anywhere else. This hat does seem very warm and is high quality, so it may be a great hat for someone else if it fits bigger heads properly.

Well, I didn't think I had a fat head, but this hat does not come close to covering my ears. It is very well made, insulated and looks great! But even as a very average size lady, it does not fit. Very sad.

The hat is very well made, but, either the Heritage Wool Windproof Pom Hat runs small, or I have a big head. The hat just covers my ears and there is little give due to the windproof lining -- which in itself is a winner for blocking cold air. But, when I am active outdoors, I have to continually pull the hat back down over my ears because the slick polyester lining does not cling to my head. (However, my hair is short and fine which may add to its non-clingyness.) I honestly think the hat is better suited for a younger (smaller) head.

Doesn't stay in place. I would say I have an average size head but definitely not made to fit my head. Returning.

I don't like doing this, because who wants to give LL Bean a bad review?! But the other reviews are right; this hat just doesn't cover the ears completely. I went outside for a few minutes on a very cold day here to confirm, and sadly my ears are still feeling the pain! :( They just need to get the design down a bit better so that it's like 1/4"-1/2" longer on the side for full coverage. Weight, feel, all the rest are good.

This doesn't fit an adult! (like it should) Way too small so had to return.

Sent back asap after receiving hat. Way too small for my average adult head and I even have very short hair. Very disappointed is this hat. And overpriced for what it is, even though I did buy for $10 off.

I bought similar hat with red and cream stripes windproof pom hat and the red color bled on the cream with one wash. Don't know what to do now. I am disappointed. For the price i thought it will be a good one. I don't see that hat to review on it.

Very tight does not fit me I gave it to my grandson

The hat is too small for my head and doesn't stay on.

I am a small woman with a large-circumference head. Hat was too tight. Also the lining didn't extend fully down, and the .5" of wool on my forehead was too scratchy. On the plus side, the cable pattern is lovely and fabric quality is good. I wish this hat had worked out for me.

I am so disappointed! I was so excited to get this hat (it was back ordered) and I waited weeks and when I finally got it, it was too small. It shows the very tips of my ears. It's an odd shape and will have to return it. I did see others say similar things. Wish it was bigger! I wouldn't say I have a "large" head. Most standard beanies fit me just fine!
