I got this tote bag as a present in the past and I have one too, which has lasted years! Great material, long lasting, pretty. Very happy with purchase. People I have purchased this for have been very happy. I love the way they do the monogram! Very fancy-looking, yet professional.

I have MANY MANY MANY different kinds of LL Bean tote bags.....Every size it seemed but Small! I really LOVE the Boat and Tote bags the most. They seem to be the most sturdy bags that LLB has! These have been around for YEARS!!! They won't die! They are made of a HEAVY wt canvas! They are Made in Maine! So now I decided to get a small one. I do ALLOT of knitting and have been doing smaller projects. These are Super for smaller items at the groc store too! More so w/the plastic bags being thinner these days!!! This bag fit the bill!!! I didn't measure out the size. I found it to be bigger than what I expected it to be for a small bag! That's GREAT tho! I know many have commented about a pocket. Well then add a pencil case or a wristlet or some clear plastic boxes, in it and than you have something to help you keep your stuff more organized!!! I don't need a key fob. I use a lariat on my keys. I put this on the handles so my keys don't go to the bottom of the bag. Many have mentioned using it for a purse; I found it rather big to use for a purse.... I SUGGEST you measure out the size of the bag you think you want and take it from there as to getting it. You will be Surprised w/the room in the SMALL bag! These are the BEST BAGS ANYONE CAN EVER GET! I highly suggest you have several of all sizes in your home and you will be very happy you have them!

We have bought this very bag several times....they keep relocating to other family members. They love them also...just forget to return them. What can I say...we all love them and I only hope we can keep this one at least for a while.

I gave the medium-sized canvas tote bag to my daughter as a gift. She loved it, and has told me that the bag is the perfect size for a day at the beach- towel, book, water bottle, sunscreen and snacks fit easily. She also loves the sturdy fabric and the monogram!

I adore this bag in all sizes and colors. I have every size bag myself. It first, was given to me as a baby gift. Now it is my go to baby gift for family and friends. I often fill it up with goodies. Everyone I have given it to also loves the bag. I get them monogram to make it personal. I also suggest getting the long handle for the large and extra large bags otherwise they are difficult to carry.

Not something you would necessarily purchase for yourself, but should consider! We were very proud to give this as a gift, and the recipient was thrilled. So glad we went with the longer handles, and the monogram made it extra special. As the recipient stated, it will probably outlast him! Very happy with our purchase, and highly recommend.

I purchased the open Boat n Tote for my grandson with his name monogrammed on the front. I have purchased Boat n Tots for each on by grandkids. The kids will fill their totes with toys to bring with them whenever they come to Grandma's house. When it is time to return home, they collect their toys and bring them home again. Always handy to have a Boat n Tote around the house.

Ordered my medium open top tote bag in peony (with monogram) this past Sunday and received today (Tuesday!). Unbelievably quick service! The monogram adds that perfect extra touch to the tote thanks to Ryan, my stitcher. This is the perfect sized tote for library books, small trips to the market, work lunches or anything really. We've purchased LL Bean totes many times over the years because they are a great quality and last for years! We often purchase them for baby gifts to tote the baby's toys and things, and for birthday gifts with a name or monogram. The large is a generous size for hauling/toting things.

I bought this tote bag because I do a lot of crocheting and needed a larger bag for my bigger projects. This bag is durable, no flaws, and the monogram is beautiful. To my surprise this bag is huge!! Perfect fit for the large afghan I was crocheting. My afghan is 63"X 63" so, folded in the bag there is still plenty of room to spare. This tote would be great for traveling, beach or anything really. I love it and I love LLBean's great products.

I bought two of the tote bags as Christmas gifts for my two daughters, ordering a special monogram with the name of their new venture. The business name consisted of 11 characters which was one more than the recommended allowance. I called L.L.Bean and the staff were so helpful, working to create a "custom two line" monogram. The tote bags looked great and my girls were thrilled and report using them for multiple purposes; hauling books to the library as well as packing business items and flyers. Thanks L.L Bean.

I gave this bag to a friend's daughter who had just given birth. She loved the monogram tote and will use it to bring the baby's clothes, etc. for an overnight or to the beach. It is roomy and sturdy and attractive looking.

Many years ago, before my granddaughters were born, my husband ordered me a large tote for me to carry my teacher things back and forth to school. This holiday season, I decided to order two bags in the Hunter green medium and monogrammed with our granddaughters' names. The purpose was for the girls (age 5 and 10) to use them for their Irish dance lessons and competitions. Since I was so late in ordering, we could not get them in time for xmas so I printed out a picture of them from the monogram selection page and placed that in a gift box with the note saying that they should check their mail for another belated surprise. They got them for New Years and were delighted. . . just in time for their next feis! P.S. The seamstress for the team embroidered the dance slippers in Hunter green on each to make them even more "special"! Everyone was extremely pleased with the purchase and service! Thanks LL Bean! These were a gift for a friend who had seen mine and liked them. I bought my first bag about 45 years ago . . . and it's still going strong !! Some of the stitching in the handles has worn away but that's it. And yes, I know I could return it to have it re-stitched or to get a new one, but I like to think it has just developed some character. At the grocery store the cashiers love these bags because they stand up and open by themselves and so they are easy to pack.I have three of these and love them. I also have another bag in size large. I do not use this for groceries because it becomes to heavy for me ( I'm 72 ) but I do use it for moving other lighter stuff around and occasionally as an overnight bag. These bags are strong, long lasting, an definitely worth the investment.

I ordered my husband a Boat and Tote with camo straps and his monogram to use as his gym bag. He absolutely loves it! I caught a glimpse of his old gym bag and was almost embarrassed for him--the straps were threadbare and worn out and faded. His new gym bag is so great looking, it's almost too nice to use at the gym.

The canvas is a heavy durable fabric and the workmanship is impressive. This bag will be a Christmas gift so I had it monogrammed to add a personal touch, it turned out beautifully. This was my first LLBean Boat and Tote and I am in love! It's such high quality, heavy material and the monogram is lovely. The Large is a little too big for my intended use (large work bag), but thats ok! I'll find a ton of uses for it, and I already ordered a Medium. If you pay a little more attention to the dimensions than I did when ordering, you will be very satisfied!

Ordered a medium canvas Boat Tote with monogram. When I received it the monogram was incorrect. I called customer service to make sure it wasn't my mistake, it wasn't. They were great! Sent me another one, expedited shipment at no charge to me. I love it! Perfect for taking my stuff to work.

I have used mine at a countless number of used book sales and have brought home hundreds of books, all toted in these bags. One is not enough - my husband and I have 6 - and we use them for everything, especially when we travel from state to state. LOVE this bag. It has been on my wishlist for a while and when I received a gift card over the holidays I decided it was time to order. I got the large size in Navy with a monogram and it is perfect. I keep it in my car and use it for groceries but you can really use it for anything. My MIL has an extra large bag and she says it is sometimes a little too big but I love the large size that I have. It fits almost everything without being gigantic to carry. Durable and easy to clean, I love love love this bag. I don't know what I did without it and plan on ordering another in a smaller size for other uses.

I have owned my medium Boat and Tote bag for at least 10-15 yrs, and it is still going strong w/no signs of wear and tear whatsoever. As a homeschooling mom, I have lugged 4 teacher's manuals + 4 student workbooks in it numerous times. I have packed it full of overflow from my suitcase on numerous trips out of state -- sometimes even w/10 or 16 lbs of hand weights in it. These bags are built to last. Although I have seen at least one review where the person thought the Boat and Totes should have *leather* handles to be sufficiently sturdy, I disagree -- they are as durable as they need to be "just" w/the canvas-&-fabric ones. In addition to the sturdiness of the bag, the color of both the handles (in my case, teal) and the monogram have not faded. Another feature I love about these bags is that the canvas is stiff enough that the bag stands on its own. I love this bag so much that, several years later, I bought a small one for my mother-in-law, and last month, I bought a large zip-top for myself. In my opinion, there is no higher quality tote bag.

The bag was purchased for my daughter you likes the bag for grocery shopping and work. She likes the monogramming feature and quality/durability of the bag. I have even purchased the nylon bags for my other daughter for the same reason.

We bought our first large tote in 1992 when we lived in the Virgin Islands. We still have it and use it everyday (no kidding-we really do)for beach and pool tote as well as a carry-on for the plane when we go on a trip. The handles are a bit shabby but the rest is just fine for us. We are very attached to it as it brings back so many wonderful memories thru the years. It has been in many places all over the world. But, we finally decided to buy a new tote and love the new one too. We didn't have the heart to return our 1st one for a free replacement as we want to keep it forever. Today I put it in the washing machine on a gentle cycle for the first time. It came out very clean with all the stains removed. Anyway, we are going on a trip back to the VI soon and we will bring both our totes. We hope LL Bean isn't too upset that it is a bit worn and we use it everywhere and LL Bean may think it is a sight to see for others but when we get the chance we tell people we meet along the way our story and they love it and rave about the fact that 25 years later it still works and looks pretty good. It is a very Happy Tote and we are very Happy Customers with lots of great memories taking our tote to happy places. Thanks LL BEAN!
