Customer Reviews New Balance Kids 574 Core (Big Kid)

These fell apart within a week of my son getting (sole separated from shoe). New balance normally makes good shoes and my son has a wide foot so we are somewhat limited in our options, but these were a dud.

Are these even made by New Balance? Shown in one picture is the text on the tongue which seems weird, "never expose to hot vehicles. The other picture is of our child's old shoe (size 6) and the new shoe (6.5). The new shoe looks to be about a half size smaller. Son said the new shoe felt narrow as well. I realize they're different styles but yikes.

Fit and size were great. My kid loves them. But barely two months later there’s a hole in the toe. Not what I expect from New Balance and for the price I paid.

Even though we ordered a wide, it was still too narrow. Not a “wide” shoe.

I have bought these shoes for years for my boys for their school uniform. Sadly the quality has steadily declined. After they fell apart after only a couple of months last school year I decided never again. The sole unattached and there was a hole in the heel of the insole. New Balance used to make quality, comfortable shoes, sadly no more.

Fell apart within a month from normal use.

I am female and purchased these to replace a pair (Mens 6.5 D) I had gotten last year that I love. I am not sure if it is because these are a "Big Kids" version rather than men's but the insoles on this pair felt like walking on cement. The men's 6.5D I bought last year feels like walking on pillows. I am returning and trying a men's pair instead.

Size and fit were great but they really did fall apart so very fast. My son is 9 and these were done in 2 months literally. After 2 weeks, I took them to the shoe repair to get the toes fixed and a couple weeks after that they fell apart completely. These are not school or play shoes. These are just for going out shoes... My shoes looked exactly like the picture another posted.
