We ordered several tee shirts in different colors. Later we were informed that most of them are on back order. We should have been informed when we ordered. Also one one the 3 we got is quite a bit longer than the other 2. Actually we have not yet received the blue shirt pictured

My husband has llBean tee shirts that he love, so I didn't hesitate ordering these online. However, the neckline was much higher and tighter than his other tee shirts, and he felt they were very uncomfortable so we had to return them.

Originally I purchased size large for my husband because in the past the large fit fine, but now the large runs too large so had to return for medium. Medium is better but still a little large.

This t-shirt fits like the old style decades ago. Large fits me fine. With newer ones made I actually take an X-Large. Very unusual. It seems newer t-shirts are "metro" sized. Narrow and skinny like putting on a tube sock over your torso. I return all those. Not this one. Wide, slightly loose, comfortable "working" fit.
The only thing I don't like is the material. New "velvet" like cotton that does not breathe. Slightly warm weather or a little work and you are drenched in perspiration. Worse, it starts sticking to your skin all over. Older t-shirts of mine never did this and I tested it in the same conditions. They breathe and actually hold their form and fit better being the "non-velvet" type cotton.
LL Bean, please return to the older style cotton used decades ago. I consider t-shirts to be working clothes. You can use these for casual wear or to the bar. Just hope you don't have a flat tire on the way otherwise you'll show up like you took a swim in it.
If this were made with the older type cotton used, I would look nowhere else for a t-shirt. The weight or ounce material of it is perfect.

I bought this shirt in two colors. One fits very nicely. The neck opening in the other was too small and I had to return it. Buying a shirt in two colors should not be a size gamble!

Ordered an XL with extra length, order got changed to 2XL within system. If an extra length is not available in a XL size, they should say that in the ordering process, not just change the order.

Very disappointed. My usual size LT, swims on me and the cut of the material is so poorly done that there are "gathers" at the neck band in front and back. They look like a Seinfeld "Puffy Shirt". Will keep to wear for yardwork and Gym. Go back to your old supplier. These shirts have been decent for decades.

In warm, hotter weather these shirts retain all heat and sweat runs down the inside of the material. They are similar to wearing a rubber tee shirt. Good colors but very uncomfortable in hotter weather.

The shirt is a good quality thickness, fits about true to size. I don't like the collar though as it fits too tight around the neck. It rides higher than other tee shirts so it's uncomfortable having to pull it down.

The neck was too small for my son and so wasn't comfortable to wear.

I've purchased this t-shirt for my son numerous times over the years. Super surprised and disappointed to recently receive a shirt of lower quality -- the thick and soft shirt of yore is now much thinner and has a synthetic hand despite being listed as cotton. I'll be returning, please LL Bean, bring back the old shirt!

I have purchased many of these over the past several years. Now they are thinner and fit poorly. The shirts are baggy and flair out about 1-2 inches on the bottom, which does not look good. Returning all.

Thinner and lighter. Neck stretches out and looks cheap. Just the opposite of what they use to sell.

I have 8 of these shirts in the regular fit. over all there are comfortable. Unshrinkable I DON'T THINK SO!! Four of them are an inch to inch and half shorter than the others. All have been washed at least 10 times.

This is supposed to be 100% cotton, but after a few washes the fabric is getting fuzzy and scratchy like a synthetic shirt. I only bought this this shirt style because the previous cotton shirt style I purchased and wanted to reorder is no longer available.

Shirts had bacon collar. Collar seemed too small for shirt size and fabric below collar was ripply.

So I looked at all the other reviews and found some with these comments.
Have been buying these T's, LS and SS, in many colors over the years. Have pretty much all colors and logos. Even have several that have never been used.
Wanted to get some new colors, BUT the shirt I tried felt differnt. Checked the description, the same as it used to be, but the fabric is lighter and feels flimsy. Don't like that.
So back they go!

I have worn llbean t-shirts, in size large for years, but these are larger in all dimensions than any previous size large (three inches larger around the chest, inch and a half across the shoulders). Unfortunately, I washed them all before trying them on. My mistake.

I was very disappointed to find after purchasing two of the Carefree Tees that the fabric was no longer 100% cotton, and the feel of the tee was noticeably different. It felt less breathable, and I did not appreciate the extreme elasticity of the fabric. It gave the fabric a synthetic feel. I had expected, as in the past, that I would receive a cotton tee with all the natural properties cotton features. Unfortunately I will not be purchasing the Carefree Tee again.

Fits well. Nice color. But as with every other
Bean t shirt I've bought in the last couple of years, the reinforced fabric around the neck stretches out of shape after just a few washings. Makes the shirt look cheap and worn out. This never happened with past t shirts.
