Love Xero shoes, and the Mesa Trail II is no exception. This is my seventh (or is it eighth) pair of Xeros, but first in this style. The turquoise colorway is great. I was looking for a minimalist trail shoe to give a little more traction, and protect my foot a little more than the HFSs which are my usual go-to do-everything shoe (have them in 4 colors), and these Mesa Trail II's fit the bill perfectly. Still lightweight, breathable for my hot climate, and of course, the zero drop, flexibility, and durability that Xero is known for in the minimalist shoe world. I usually purchase directly from Xero, but they didn't have this colorway, so was happy to find here on Zappos. Just like the HFS, these Mesa Trail II's seem to run a half size small for my foot, although I could comfortably go a full size larger in the HFS, just for comparison. I did try a full size larger with the Mesa Trail II, but it was just too big.
Seems that most of the other reviewers here on Zappos (at this time) may not be familiar with the Xero brand or have been aware they were ordering a minimalist shoe. Not sure if Xero or Zappos does the write-up, but may want to provide a little more information to that affect to help future customers.

I loved these shoes but the insole kept sliding around as I walked. I replaced it with a store bought insole which stayed in place and have been happy since.

I was advised to order a size larger than I normally wear, but on me, that makes them a little big. I can't return them because my cats rolled all over them and I can't get the cat hair off. However, they are still comfortable and I immediately loved them. I will definitely buy another pair in my normal size.

These are barefoot shoes, so one cannot expect there to be “excellent arch support” in any way. That’s not what barefoot shoes are. These shoes are extremely comfortable for hiking, working long shifts at the hospital or just out and about. My toes have lots of wiggle room and my foot pain has improved since I’ve switched to Xero Shoes. Any discomfort I’ve had is simply from my muscles in my feet strengthening after years of wearing bad conventional shoes. I wish there were some more colors, but I have nothing but positive things to say and will only be wearing Xero Shoes from now on.

Xero means exactly that. ZERO arch support.

Love Xero shoes for the barefoot experience. There is no arch support by design since they are "barefoot" shoes. I'm usually a 7.5 but the 8s fit great and I can even wear my Correct Toe spacers inside this shoe with no discomfort. These shoes are extremely comfortable and breathable and stylish - love the color.

Very very minimal sole. I thought I might use with an insert, but just too flimsy.

I recently found Xero sandals, which I love. I have a very wide foot and one foot has occasional edema, so finding shoes and sandals that fit is difficult. Although the sandals fit well, these shoes did not. They were way too tight across the instep and had no give to them. I'm sad that they didn't work as they are cute and I thought they'd be great for summer.

The good: light weight shoe with what looks to be a grippy sole. However, encouraged pronation & fabric uncomfortable on bare feet.
