I've worn this pant for years and with age, needed a slightly larger size. I'm normally a 12-14 in most brands, but know Columbia's Silver Ridge has minimal give to the material, so went up to a 16, which barely fit and thus, will be returned. I think Columbia has perhaps rested on their laurels as one of the OG outdoor clothing designers and has not kept pace with advances in materials and design in this industry. It's a shame, but there are so many other comparable manufacturers that are making better products in the same price point that it's hard to consider Columbia anymore when replacing old hiking gear.

Returned. Not meant for people with wider hips and thighs and butt. Also low rise and sizing is inaccurate.

Runs very large to size. I was swimming in these pants, even though I wear this size in other Columbia products. I love the color and fabric.

I normally love Columbia hiking pants but these miss the mark. I ordered my normal size. The zippers on the legs are tight and rub on my thighs as I walk. It restricts how high I can lift my legs. The waist fits fine when zipped up but it was hard to get into these pants. The fabric makes a swishy sound when I walk too.

I bought my usual size but the thigh section was much closer, the material made noise when I walked. The material has no stretch at all. Was difficult to lift legs to climb and I could barely do any stretches after my walk. I was walking in the heat and these pants were hot however, they did not feel wet, hence my 2 stars. Maybe it's the recycle material. Disappointed with these.

I tried these pants on at a local sporting goods store and found the thigh area where the zip-off legs are located to be so tight I couldn't pull up the pants all the way. I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds and very fit but do not muscle-build in my thighs. These pants might fit those with stick-thin legs but if your thighs have any muscle at all from normal fitness (hiking, cycling, elliptical training) give them a pass.

I do not like the fit. The waist and thighs are big and calves are tight, yuk.

Not a regular size 8, the waist is small. Columbia should be consistent in sizes across their pants

Runs small, very coarse fabric. Returned because I thought these would be like another pair of Columbias that I have that have a wonderfully soft fabric. These are closer to 75 grit sandpaper.
