I bought the gray pair this summer for a fall trip. They are very versatile and can turn into shorts as fast as I can zip the legs off. Very easy. Roomie for my curvy figure. I would have gotten more but they didn't have my size. I'm almost 5'8 & wear a large. I will add that the snaps are hard to undo, so I just snap the top one for ease.

The low waist was too tight for me while the hips were too big. I tried these on three different times because I really liked the features and wanted them to fit, but in the end realized they were not for my body shape. They have multiple and well placed pockets, perfect length, nice fabric and quality of construction, although the closure button could have a bit more substantial and I understand other comments about the tight thighs. They would have been my go-to pants.

I like the design and fabric. I normally wear a size 12 and ordered a 14 so it would not be too snug. So Tight! I had to return then.

Love these pants except for the sizing. I have several other pants from Columbia and size 6 fits me perfectly. Not these size 6. They are tight and uncomfortable.

The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star instead of 5 is because the product runs small. I've read the previous reviews and also went through the size chart and decided to order myself a size 12. I'm a size 8 and have other Columbia products size 8. I'm glad I ordered a size 12. It's a little bit roomy on my waist, but I like it that way. It's the right size for me. I'm 5'8", about 155 lb.

I needed a pair of convertible hiking pants for a backpacking trip. Not many options out there for women and I wanted Columbia because of the high quality. But being a petite person, I do not wear Columbia pants because they do not make any petite sizes. I decided to try this style since my husband loves the men's version and the women's now has the roll cuff with the snap closure. In most other brands, I wear a size 6 but in Columbia I wear an 8 (6 fits slightly tighter in the waist and at the zip off legs in this style). The 8 fits me loosely but still looks good and feels comfortable. The waist is not too big to slide down my hips. The fabric is cool feeling and light weight, there is a slight swishing sound when walking from the fabric rubbing. The shorts fall just above my knee when the leg is removed. I would rate these higher if I had a petite size, in order to wear the pants I have to roll them 3 times and the snap closer is only on one side so they tend to unroll on the other side when walking. I have not worn these for any long backpacking yet and will update if my review changes. I am almost 5'2", 125 lbs with a short torso.

I was really excited to get my first hiking pants. Unfortunately they were long for me. I wish they had petite size

I used these convertible pants on a three day backpacking trip. I liked having a zippered pocket and a side pocket on the thigh with a velcro closure. The legs were easy to unzip when it got warm out. The legs are a bit fussy to zip unto the shorts again while you are wearing them, but worked just fine. The fabric is lightweight which is what I want in a summer hiking pant. The sizing seemed true to size.

Fit is a little off for sizing. Ordered a size 8 but it was loose in the waist, tight in the thighs and made climbing , bending, squatting on hikes uncomfy. The pockets are tiny so they dont even hold the small basic tactical gear I wanted in my pockets

Love the soft lining on the waistband. Fit true to size. Zippered leg area is smooth when used as shorts.

I am not curvy. Im 56 130lb. The waist fits perfectly, but the thighs are WAY too tight, I can barely pull them all the way up. Cant imagine wearing them as shorts, theyd look like a bad pair of bike shorts. Bottom half is too tight as well, these should be slightly baggy everywhere but the waist. Dont buy unless you have tiny legs. Extremely disappointed.

I was looking forward to a new pair of Columbia hiking pants, but these run narrow and small, and the waist band does not stretch. Usually I fit size 6-8, but was unable to zip this pants up (I ordered a size 6 ). I am 5-4" tall and weigh 122 lbs. For comparison I tried my old Columbia pants and they still fit comfortably. I would recommend ordering one or two sizes larger. The material is nice and light - too bad the design isnt more forgiving.

I tried these pants on at a local sporting goods store and found the thigh area where the zip-off legs are located to be so tight I couldn't pull up the pants all the way. I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds and very fit but do not muscle-build in my thighs. These pants might fit those with stick-thin legs but if your thighs have any muscle at all from normal fitness (hiking, cycling, elliptical training) give them a pass.

Having worn such (by other companies) for years, these fit as expected with comfort. Great sale price! Appreciate the cuff cinch ability. Deep side pockets would be great, but absence of is not a deal breaker! Im sure theyll wear well on upcoming trips to Alaska and Central America!

Meh. Standard women's clothing problems. Small pockets. Too tight through the thighs and too large through the waist (for my curvy body anyway). Might work well on a straight body with slim legs. No stretch. Probably would have returned, but I figured I'd give them a chance.

Light fabric good for summer, straight fit. I am 5.6 f , high , 160 pounds, I ordered size 12 ,fits a bit loose, but I keep it . I think it will do the job for hiking. I think it should have adjustable buckles on the waist band but it doesn't.

They did not fit and I need to send them back for a different size. I am not sure how I am supposed to do this. They seem like pants that I would love if they fit.

I bought my usual size but the thigh section was much closer, the material made noise when I walked. The material has no stretch at all. Was difficult to lift legs to climb and I could barely do any stretches after my walk. I was walking in the heat and these pants were hot however, they did not feel wet, hence my 2 stars. Maybe its the recycle material. Disappointed with these.

I always buy size 12, as this is my correct size. When I tried on these pants they were a perfect fit in the waist but very very baggy in the legs. I couldn't believe they were actually a size 12.
