Overall a really great shoe. After a couple of weeks and a couple of different types of hikes, I have nothing but good to say about these shoes. The mid style is great for support and the size that was given to me by an Oboz Rep was perfect for ordering online. The waterproofing is great, they got muddy and then cleaning them off in a stream since they were waterproof made it super easy to make them look like new.

I bought these to hike up and down hills, hunting in the spring. They are my 3rd pair of Oboz and have been like the other 2 pair. Comfortable straight out of the box. I tell everyone about your brand, if they are looking for comfortable hiking shoes.

I've tried so many other hiking shoes over the years and my Oboz have proven to have the best fit and proper support. The Katabatic has been a great light weight shoe and I'll be putting it to the test during my upcoming 26.2 mile hike in White Sands NM.

Having loved my Sawtooth Low I wanted some waterproof mids for different occasions. I wanted something light, flexible and fast. These really fit the bill. I looked at Salomon Outpulse but having tried both, think Oboz are just slightly better quality. I took advice from others and went for half a size larger vs the Sawtooth, which was the right call. These do run a touch small. The quality is great though - very comfortable straight out the box but they do soften after an hour or so, so worth taking them for short walk before any longer hiking. They look modern too, which Oboz generally arent known for. I prefer the styling to my Sawtooths which are very traditional. Yes, I know it shouldnt matter but nice to know you dont have to sacrifice style for quality and comfort. The toe box is fine - not overly large but spacious enough - and the heel cup is great. The lacing feels secure and the waterproofing is very effective. Dont worry about it not being Gore-tex. Obozs Bdry is just as good. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love my Obos. Probably one of the best shoes Ive ever purchased. Light and comfortable. I catch myself wearing them all the time due to their comfort. Wore them for 3 days in the desert camping and feet felt great. Excellent product and highly recommend.

I purchased these boots through Valhalla in BC. I read the reviews that said they are longer and narrower than other Oboz boots. I had an issue with toe smashing when descending trails. These boots fit so well and no more smashing up against the front of the boot because of the fit.
These boots are so comfortable right out of the box. No break in period. Great arch support and good padding underfoot. Probably the best all round boots I have ever owned except for one big problem.
These boots are NOT waterproof at all. The second time wearing them on a two hour hike in moderate rain and the top front toe area was soaked through on both boots. Very wet socks. Did not walk in streams or puddles, just rain. Really disappointed. I paid a premium for waterproof.

I just finished an 18 mile hike with 3,700 elevation gain. The Katabatic mids performed great! I am a landscape/wildlife photographer so I always over-pack on my hikes, loaded down with multiple cameras and even more lenses, including a giant 5.5 lbs telephoto lens; having a lightweight boot to compensate for that is just what I needed. Even though I am carrying extra weight on my back, my feet never felt heavy and my steps always felt sturdy. The sizing was a little different from other Oboz footwear I've had so I do recommend trying on in-store before buying. But once you get the right fit, you won't regret it! This boot has quickly become my favorite Oboz hiker.

Although the fit of the Katabatics is quite different from both the Bridger and Sawtooth models (the Katabatics are longer and narrowerI take a full size smaller in the Katabatics) I have been happy with their performance when hiking on well-developed trails and pathways. They are much softer under foot and absorb more shock than either the Bridgers or Sawtooths (as well as the Firebrands) and the sole and upper is much more flexible (with a reduction in lateral support compared to Bridgers or Sawtooths). All this is good on developed trails and walking (or running) on smooth asphalt trails - but not great if you are scrambling on a scree slope or carrying a heavy pack on challenging terrain. I have found they are much more water-resistant than I expected. Overall Id rate them as very versatile footwear for a variety of outdoor activitiesgood all-rounders.

I have tried these on several 2-hour hikes and have been very happy with them. They are a good fit with room in the toe box and felt lightweight enough to wear for longer hikes.
Waterproof, lightweight, and a good fit! No issues so far.
