I have recently become a fan of this odd footwear category, which I would describe as "slides which are easy and comfy normally, but which you can strap down tight for wading or slopes, etc. I adored my Merrell Hut Ultra Wrap Slides, but they fell apart after 6 weeks, so they are out. Since then I have tried a few alternatives. None have been as comfy as the Merrells, but so far my favorite of the alternatives has been these Keen Newport Slides. These run smaller compared the the Merrells. The size 15 Merrell was almost to big (but fine), while the size 15 Keens are almost too small (but fine).

Where's the slide for women? I had to buy the mens in order -

Surprisingly useful

I work from home and wear these daily, I am diabetic, so these protect my toes as well as keep my foot cool. They are also comfortable to wear for extended durations.

I ordered a 10 1/2 which is the size I always order when ordering Keen shoes. The Newport Slide has been difficult to find in brown for women. I had been looking for months. The Newport slide is made of quality materials. They look awesome on the foot. A must have pair of shoes. For women the Gray and Blue are much easier to find.

It was a tad too small

Slide is good - I have a few Keen variations built on the same last. The Newport Slide is my latest pair. I'm a fan. Great comfort and on/off convenience.

Terrific Lightweight Cool Hybrid Sandal - Too bad these babies have been discontinued (Keen is now only making the Newport with back strap) - what were they thinking? Easy on off, comfortable, good looking, waterproof.

Keen Newport Slide and Zappos are great!! I never even heard of Keen until I saw them on Zappos. I love the Newport slide. Perfect size and width. I was looking for a slide with some substance and style and I got it. Very masculine and sporty. Zappos is wonderful to work with; they make everything convenient and easy!!

Great Shoe for Boating - Used this shoe over the summer and it does everything I need it to. Great on the boat, easy to take off/put on, perfect for wading ashore from the dinghy, doesn't look too bad when going ashore for lunch, etc. Pretty good for walking but your foot will tend to slip out of it in really rough terrain - not a hiking shoe.

Great Shoes - My husband loves these shoes, and he's usually quite conservative about footwear. He wanted something for weekends, something to toss on, something that felt great. He got all that with these shoes.

What a 'Keen' idea! I purchased these shoes as a gift for my grown son. Tom said that to have the comfort of a sandal with not only such great support but protection for the toes, which always get stubbed when working outside in regular sandals, makes this pair of shoes a...condominium for your feet! They're classy looking. People know you paid a pretty $ for them. On a personal note...Shopping at Zappos is a joy from the customer service to the items you purchase! Way to go Zappo!

KEEN Shoe - Great shoe for just about anything. Used for bike ride with toe straps fit well and has enough support in ball of foot to ride 25 miles and feet stayed cool not the best running shoe but what you can't get everything from a backless sandal.

Keen Newport Slide - Great shoe. Went diving in Key West and it was PERFECT for the boat ! Walking around town it was great also. Probably THE most comfortable shoe I own! I recommend this shoe highly !

Comfort, style and quality - This is a nice shoe. I've had a hard time finding a sporty open-back men's sandle. This one caught my attention and I really like it.

Great casual shoe. True to size, comfortable fit and easy on/off. Unconventional look gets some comments, mostly positive. Excellent walking and boat shoe but back strap version probably better for more active pursuits.

Keen Newport slides - The slides are extremely comfortable. With the large rubber toe, it does provide some protection to the toes. They are very easy to walk in & provide all day comfort. One can adjust how loose or tight they are by a pull tab which is very convenient. They are waterproof as well. The only thing was they are not cheap.

Great Ride in a Great Slide! I bought these not really knowing what to expect. I am a runner and wanted comfortable shoes to wear after a hard run. The Keen Newport slides are definately comfortable. They allow your feet to breathe openly which is great, especially when it's hot. The odor control insole is a bonus. This shoe is an excellent buy.

Newport Slide - Outstanding sandal/clog. Immediately became my favorite pair of shoes. They provide excellent protection for tender toesies, and they are oh-so stylin'. Need a back up pair.

Keens Are Keen - Felt really great right out of the box. Neat adjustable cord-lock fit. Needed open-back agressive type tread shoe so I could continue with my walking program in spite of Achilles Tendonitis---This shoe made that possible. Although the style is a little strange looking, it grows on you.
