I wear these for EVERYTHING: - work (12hour shifts in the ER on my feet) - running (trail, treadmill, everywhere) - guiding (leading hiking trips) - backpacking (multi-day with a pack on) - adventure racing (24+ hours of nonstop multisport racing) The fit is great because they stretch side to side, meaning my wide feet don't feel squished and hindered. Other brands feel too narrow, but these fit my feet perfectly. I gotta let you guys know in on a secret - I wear a single pair multiple days in a row. THEY DON'T SMELL. The antimicrobial properties keep my feet odorless and happy. My feet also stay dry in all seasons when I wear these socks; I don't sweat and if it's humid, the wool prevents my feet from being damp. I have never gotten blisters wearing these (even on a 158 hour race including trail running, mountain biking, and hiking - NO BLISTERS!). I took them to Nepal to hike for a month - yes, 4-10 hours of hiking a day at high altitude with a heavy pack on, and I only needed three pairs because they are durable and I would rotate through washing a pair in a creek, letting them dry, and they were perfect. I can't explain how much I love these socks. Another great perk - after years of wearing them, eventually they get holes with the abuse I put them through. SmartWool will recycle the wool and use the fibers instead of sending them to a landfill!

The ankle band is too short and flimsy making it fell like a rubber band.

I absolutely love these socks! For running they keep moisture away from feet for a fresh feel many miles. Antibacterial and anti fungal are also major pluses. All around great socks!
