Having worn about only three times, it has a comfortable fit, lightweight enough, soft leather, love the mauve color. I’m still getting myself adjusted to carrying what I need without over spreading its open top(magnetic closure) . It’s attractive without being too conspicuous, so far I feel it’s a “keeper”

The color is gorgeous, and the leather is so soft. It’s also a perfect size. The problem is it isn’t useable as a purse. It only has a small, weak magnet in the middle to close it, and there’s no zipper pocket inside, just an open pocket. I wouldn’t feel safe carrying this because anyone could reach in and take my wallet and phone quickly and possibly without me noticing it. Also, if dropped or it falls over, it’s going to come open and spill all the contents. I wanted to love this, but it’s an impractical and unusable design for a purse. A simple zipper closure at the top and a zippered pocket inside would have made this the perfect purse.

First the good…best genuine leather purse I’ve found in ages, really good quality, and the green color is gorgeous! The size is perfect. I wanted to keep this SO badly, but due to the style it’s unusable. If it has a zipper closure for the top, or even an inside pocket, it would be perfect. The top has a weak magnet closure, no zipper, and the tiny inside pocket is open, no zipper, so there’s no secure way to carry my wallet and cash. The top gaps open on both size of the magnet, making it obvious that the contents aren’t secure. If dropped or tipped over, the contents would spill out. This magnetic closure and open top inside pocket seems to be a favorite feature for Madewell these days. I hope they will read these reviews and reconsider their design. I love their products. They’re pricey, but very high quality materials and construction, so I will continue to be a customer.

This purse is made of buttery soft genuine leather, and the Palm is a gorgeous dark green color. It’s a great size and shape to carry just the necessities. For all these reasons, I wanted to love it, but sadly there are a couple of design choices that are deal-breakers. The only closure at the top is a weak magnet, so the sides gap outward from each end to the center. If it were dropped or tipped over, the contents will spill out, even if the magnet holds, which is doubtful. I could have maybe lived with that if there had been an inside zipper pocket to store cash and credit cards, but no, there’s only a very small open top pocket inside. If this purse was redesigned with a zipper top and an inside zipper pocket, it would be the perfect purse. I love Madewell purses. They are one of the few who still use good quality genuine leather. Unfortunately, many of their current purses have this open top design. I’m returning this one, and I can’t really recommend it.
