I really like these shoes. Would recommend. I may get some inserts with additional arch support, but not critical.

These shoes are awesome, whether in the office, walking around the neighborhood, hiking trails at a National Park, or on the retail floor. Supportive, but very light and comfortable! I've put many miles on mine and I am impressed.

My husband loves the comfort and practicality of these shoes. They are "greener" than we expected- a little brighter than the drab olive we thought they were. My husband decided to keep them anyway and plans to wear them all fall. Had they been the same green as some of the pants he'd purchased from Bean in the past we'd have given them five stars.

The fit and comfort are great; my only gripe is the color

Good basic hiker, but I think I'd choose something more heavy duty for technical trails. First hike was on Makah tribal reservation to Cape Flattery, Washington State, the most extreme NW corner of the Lower 48 states. Trail is only about a mile each way from/to the road, but downhill/uphill and crossed by millions of slick exposed tree roots, also plenty of loose small stones ("marbles") plus slippery/mossy rustic boardwalks over marshy areas. We did it better than flailing tourists in joggers. This shoe's tread rubber surface is slippery until scuffed in on a dry abrasive surface, like walking on concrete for a while. The tread pattern cleared itself of dirt, pebbles and mud when I walked around on a clean surface, no scrubbing needed. The woods were just damp so have not tested waterproof feature yet.

Excellent quality and comfort. I give them 4 instead of 5 stars because they are difficult to put on and off. Restrictive tongue. I use a shoehorn. Grippy laces difficult to untie.

Comfortable, light-weight hiking shoe. Not a total fan of the green, but it is something different.

super comfortable right out of the box, the color is a bit intense (green) for me, would like something a bit more subtle.

I'm always prepared to dislike a new shoe, since so few rarely fit perfectly the first time, and then after wearing a bit, become too hot or otherwise uncomfortable. I'm surprised, then, how much I like these shoes, and are happy put them on each time. The fit and comfort are very good, and so far, even though "waterproof", they aren't too warm (but this is March in NJ). I just wanted a fairly supportive, lightweight, sneaker-like shoe to walk around in ( I don't do any true hiking.) and these shoes seem as perfect as can be expected so far. Generally, a tight toe box is what causes me to reject a shoe, even though I have a "D" width, and while these shoes look narrow, I have no complaints about the toe room. So, unlike many clunky "walking shoes", these are attractive, making my size 13's look smaller, and they feel good walking in them, not tiring from the weight.

I bought these for light hiking but ended up wearing them on all my hikes. They are comfortable and kept my feet dry. Some of the sole material isn't as sturdy and got nicked up but overall these shoes exceeded my expectation

I purchased these shoes online a half size larger than I ordinarily wear. Unfortunately, they are made way too narrow to fit comfortably. So, I am returning them. That's too bad as they are nice looking and serve as a good walking shoe.

Love the look, and wanted to love the shoe. Unfortunately the fit was just too narrow and I had to return them.

Nice quality...not comfortable and too narrow. Hurt the outside, mid-foot area.

I can live with the green color and find the fit very comfortable, but I was expecting more at this price point. Granted, I have not tried hiking with them yet, but they don't feel very sturdy more like a walking shoe for flat asphalt. And the lacesreally? Just flat sneaker laces the get twisted, stretched and will break easily? How about some dense, round, braided laces? I will surely replace the laces.

As an employee who has presented this shoe to customers and has tried this shoe on many times, I like the fit and feel of this shoe, but the green color does not fit in with a lot of outfits and to some is fairly unflattering (as per customer feedback, with which I agree). I would absolutely love to see this shoe in the black colorway of the insulated boot version (518577); even the saddle color of the non-insulated boot (517918) would suffice.

I ordered these hikers thinking they would be good for the warmer months. The first thing I noticed was that the footbed is too flat for me, and rather hard. And they were too hot to wear in warm weather because the body of the shoe is made of a plastic-like material, not synthetic or leather.

I bought two different shoes from LL Bean and this pair does not have enough arch support for my right foot. Insoles fix the issue but now I have to buy those for these shoes. I like both shoes I ordered and seem good quality but I'm disappointed both are giving me issues that are completely different.

Purchased pair in blue and like them. Bought a second pair in green and the shoE created a pressure point on my big toe.

Initially very happy with the fit and waterproofing, which was why I bought them. But the soles are soft and wore down within about 6 months and at less than a year, are now too worn to wear. And man, do they reek! I don't know if it's the waterproofing or what, but they incubate odor causing bacteria or something like no shoe or boot I've ever owned. I replaced the inserts, and that helped, but not nearly enough.
