Needed a new pair of boots for work. A coworker recommended I try a pair of Merrill's so I did. Very comfortable. I wear them 5 days a week for 8-9 hour shifts. Definitely will be getting another pair.

Very comfortable out of the box. For a waterproof boot, my feet don't sweat excessively. The waterproofing does diminish over time and requires some maintenance to maintain. My previous pair lasted 18 months working outdoors averaging 30-40 miles of weekly walking.

Very comfortable shoe. I use it for work, where I'm standing a good 8-16 hours a day. It's also true to size

Got these for work boots. So far so good. Very comfortable. They do run slightly small. I normally wear size 10.5, and had to exchange for a size 11. Other than that I love them.

My duty boot. Been getting Merrells for a few years now. Had another MOAB 3 for a couple years that's been durable and gone to clouds rest no problem. It has lost its ability to be waterproof which sucks but still Sturdy with lots of tread. Trading those out for my old MOAB 2's I used for work since we get a boot allowance. I do wish the tactical 3's used the hook for the top shoe lace loop like in their normal pairs. Either way I'll be back next year for the next boot allowance.

Love the top eyelets instead of hooks.
I'll put these in rotation with the other pairs of Merrells.

Very comfortable for every day wear. I've worn them on the range and on hard concrete surfaces and they are more comfortable than my other tac boots. I haven't had the opportunity to wear them in the rain yet, so I can't attest to how well they wear in wet conditions.

This is a good comfortable boot. However, the Moab 2 mid Tactical was a better design. In the Moab 2 tactical boot the front toe box material was not sewn in well creating some gaps between the toe guard and the box material. I was able to repair that with shoe goo but the rest of the boot was of superior design to the Moab 3 tactical. In particular the lacing system and sturdiness of the boot itself is better in the Moab 2 as compared to the Moab 3. Merrell should have Left the design of the Moab 2 alone and just fixed the problem with the toe box material.

Fit runs small. I can wear a 15 Hoka but not a 15 Merrell. These are going to the charity store.

Very nice looking boot. I have wore them a set of shifts now, and they are very comfortable. However, I am really disappointed in them being labelled as waterproof as that was a primary reason for me picking them. They are not at all. Only took a small splash to the toe area to get my foot soaked. I really needed these to be able to stand up to some weather conditions for work.

Bought them a few months ago. While they are comfortable and I love them, they started coming apart within a week or so or wearing them.

Poor SupportGreat Support
There is a raised part of the sole, under the outermost metatarsal, that pushes into the bone, and is eventually painful. This is the second pair of Merrell Moab shoes that has this problem for me.

I had been buying the Moab 2 Tactical for 7-10 years. Using it as my hiking boot. Hiked around the world in this boot and regular weekend explorations of regional parkland. I told everyone what an amazing product it was. Told everyone who asked to definitely buy the Moab 2 Tactical. Last month, I went to go and buy my latest new pair and saw this instead. WHY OH WHY did you change it? It doesn't lace as perfectly snugly as the 2. And three hikes in and the laces are already fraying. Bad design! Bad design! I'm going to have to go stock up on Moab 2's from resellers....

I bought these 4 months ago and the firtst month they were great but after hike ion the mountains and wearing to work the sole started to let go on one side then after a week the other side let go also. I bought E6000 adhesive and reglued the bottoms, I did place these in a bench vice to make fure they stayed tight, it worked well but the quality of the boots i felt were no that good as both sides of the soles came apart.

I'll stick with the Moab 2's. The toebox on the 3 is way too big, it's massive. Additionally the shank is uncomfortably stiff. Also have an issue where the outer rear lug (marked Vibram) is literally peeling away from the sole after a few months of light, indoor usage, defiantly would not trust on a trail
