Loved the way this looked in the photo, but the black has a real zipper, which I didn't realize when ordering. The shoulders are snug. And the lining is so itchy. It's fine if you're wearing a sweater, but it's intolerable if wearing a cotton shirt. Returned.

Exactly what I wanted for California winter and travel. I love the green/blue colors and the overall design. HOWEVER the sizing is way off. Very narrow in the chest. I will return and order a larger size, but I am not sure even XLarge will fit my 38C chest.

I'm 5'9 and 160 lbs. and the medium fits perfectly with a heated vest underneath, which I need as the coat is not warm by itself in 45 or less. What I'm most disappointed in is this coat was unavailable to buy in New York and when I called LL Bean to purchase it, the employee also tried to cash me out but couldn't and could not give a reason why it was just NY and CA. I had it shipped to another state I was visiting and today learned the reason is likely the new PFAS ban. Per the NYS DEC, "The restriction of PFAS in apparel applies specifically to apparel with intentionally added PFAS, as described in section 37-0121 of the ECL." I'd hoped the reason was something innocuous as I'd assumed better of LL Bean. Something to keep in mind if you care about added chemicals and the environment. Coat fits great and looks good otherwise.

It's just not the standard LL Bean level of quality. The wool is aggressively itchy ( I've owned plenty of itchy wool sweaters but this one is top tier itchy -- with only a dry clean option. There are plenty of ways to soften wool, but the dry clean option makes me hesitant to try). Plus a few minor things like the side pockets should be a little deeper and the zipper should be metal rather than plastic. Had to return unfortunately.

I like the style. But apparently woman aren't supposed to wear layers - although the medium had room to spare in the body, the sleeves were so tight that it was binding when I bent my elbows...with a turtleneck and flannel shirt on. There's no way I could have worn it with a sweater. And I have skinny arms. Returning and exchanging for the men's version which I hope is better designed.

Love this jacket but the pockets are not done right so items can easily fall out.

I had the original jacket and loved it. This did not fit like the original. I have two catalogs that state Relaxed Fit best with heavyweight layers. However when I received the jacket it did not fit properly. When I verified the fit on the website it said slightly fitted best with medium weight layers. Very confusing and disappointing. I have returned the jacket.

First winter away from FL in 15 years so I thought I'd treat myself to a nice coat for my winter season in VA. Coat is well made on the outside and fits true to size BUT I have no idea how it's rated for winter! VERY thin flannel type lining in upper parts and also thin quilted material in lower back. It's no more than a glorified windbreaker! So disappointed with my purchase! Returning!

I really wanted to love this jacket, but I had to return it. it just fit weird and was boxy at the bottom. I bought a size small and it fit but was tight in the arms with a layer under it, and the medium would have been too big.

I've owned 2 of these jackets and loved them, but the lining from the most recent one is wearing out, and wanted to replace it. My 2 original ones were Medium - I ordered a Large to allow enough room for extra layers under if (and clothes now seem to be made smaller). The body of the Large fit, but I could barely get the sleeves on. I returned it for an XL - the jacket body was too big, but sleeves were still too small. The XL was unfortunately returned, and I am looking for another brand's jacket to serve this purpose (Spring and Fall jacket, and active wear for Winter).

I have had 2 other Baxter State Parkas in the past and absolutely loved them - the first I use just for yard work now, and the other is still hanging in there, but the flannel lining is disintegrating. I've order a new one in a Large (am really a Medium but wanted enough room for a fleece under it) - I could zip it (BUT IT ZIPS ON THE WRONG SIDE!!) but could not get my arms in the sleeves - too tight. Against my better judgement, I exchanged it for an XL - the body certainly fit, but was too big, and again, could barely get my arms in, and could not cross my arms when it was on. They have changed something dramatically when this jacket was made. I will not be ordering another, and am very sad about it. I'll have to look at another company for a similar jacket. L.L.Bean - please fix this issue!!!
