I bought this in black last year...and love it. So this year bought one for my daughter who is in college in Pullman WA. The hood will not stay on, so she is constantly having to snap it back on. so bummer.

Love the look and warmth of this coat but how did they mess up the pockets so badly?! They are so far down the length of the coat that it isn't comfortable to have your hands in them and anything you try to keep in them falls out immediately. Unfortunately I'll be returning this coat.

I wanted to love this jacket; it is so warm and fits well. I purchased it in January; however, I had to exchange it a month later because a button came off, as in February. I wore the new one for only 2 months (February and March), and the material has pilled. I do not wear this jacket for anything other than in my car, and it gets hung up on a coat rack wherever I go. I brought it to the store, and they said, unfortunately, I can't get a different jacket because this does not look like a manufacturer issue (I respect and understand policies), but I'm sad and disappointed in the quality of the jacket, especially considering LLBean is known for their products to be used for outdoor rugged situations. So please do not buy this jacket if you are planning to use it for anything "rugged."

Wanted a heavy down parka for the chilly Winter morning walks. The Women's Mountain Classic Down Parka is thin and does not keep you warm. A fleece sweater is required as a base layer at 32F and below.

VERY DISAPPOINTED..SNAPS/ZIPPER DIFFICULT TO OPERATE..ESP. IN THE COLD!

I asked this jacket as a Christmas gift to my husband. My mother-in-law is a super LLBean fan and always said goods things about this brand. Anywaysthe jacket is warm enough for where I live but the feathers are coming out. The zipper stuck because has a bad quality. Less than. 1 month wearing and I am going to return, sadly! One more thing, it's not feminine and looks like I am 2x bigger than I really am.

I bought this coat in August 2024 for this winter wearing. While I tried it on, I did not turn it inside out and examine all the seams. I found that the inside seam on the left sleeve is not completely sewn when I went to wear it for the first time. There is at least 6 inches of stitching missing.

This coat is beautiful, I purchased it in black and I was super excited about it. I received it in October of this year (2024). I am not sure if there are some quality control issues as of late but this coat is not warm, at all. The material feels cheap. I am disappointed I dished out $199 for a parka that I was looking forward to keeping for years to come. However, now I am back in the market for a new coat.

The first reason I returned it is that the pockets are too shallow. You could not safely keep your keys or wallet there or warm your hands. The second reason it that it is not as warm as claimed. I was too cold in 35 degree weather.

I really wanted to like this coat. There is a lot to it that I like. The extra small petite fits me well with plenty of room in the arms to wear a warm winter sweater underneath. (5'0, 108 lbs). The kelp green color is appealing. The zipper and snaps work well. But oh my dear - those pockets and hood! As others have noted, the pockets aren't deep enough for your hands, and I noticed today on a walk that at a mere 58 degrees, my hands seek the comfort of a pocket. And that hood! It is so oversized that you simply can't see where you are going. Maybe it fits while worn over a hat, but to me, part of the charm of a hood is that it's always on call, even when you forgot or lost your hat. Sadly, these oversized hoods seem to be an ongoing issue with LLBean outerwear.

Bought on 3/20/2024 I have had it a little over two weeks. Went to snap the pocket closed to find the snap had come off. It's stuck in the contacting piece. Super sad. The crazy Maine weather we've had this jacket has been great other than this. For the price the snaps shouldn't be popping off.

I wanted to love this coat, but every time I reached for it, I put it back in the closet because the zippers drove me crazy. They are stitched too close to the fabric and got caught every time, especially the bottom-up zipper. The pockets are too shallow to hold gloves or a phone, and for keeping hands warm. I bought this coat last year and the zipper broake this year. Not the quality I expect for the price you pay. I am very disappointed.

This coat was too bulky and looked like wearing a marshmallow. I've had a couple of LL Bean winter coats in medium size petite that have fit perfectly. This one didn't. I returned it.

I returned this parka. As soon as I opened the package I saw that the color was much darker and duller than pictured online and in the catalogue. That was very disappointing as I wanted a brighter coat. With no knitted cuff at the bottom of the sleeve, it was very difficult to get warm gloves either over or under the sleeve bottom. The coat was also a little shorter than I expected and the pockets were small. It did feel warm though. I was disappointed.

I really like the fit/style of this coat but unfortunately feathers are already coming out of the coat and I've worn it fewer than ten times. I haven't it washed the coat yet. I'm surprised and disappointed to see this happening already.

I returned the jacket. Although it's very warm, being short I felt like the Michelins man - don't like the unfeminine look. You could make a jacket just as warm without the puffiness.

I received this as a Christmas gift and had I not been in desperate need of a new winter coat, I would have returned. This coat is really light and not super warm, and then when I visited the website and saw the recommendation for adding base layer it clicked. Unfortunately, I don't really want to need to add a base layer when searching for a winter coat. Also, the zipper's quality is extremely poor. All in all a below-average winter coat for the steep price tag.

Run really small, hood is also not large enough to comfortably cover your head. I followed tbe size chart but needed acsize larger. It seems well made and probably would be warm if I could wear it.

Coat is great. The pockets are a nightmare, I have ruined 2 phones now because of this jacket. The pockets are barely deep enough to hold a few credit cards, and they have a weird angle so they are basically useless. I love this coat but I hate the pockets so much I would return it in a heartbeat. Lost gloves, keys, etc. also the snaps and hardware are also tough to use. 2/5, needs improvement

This is a very cute jacket. Love that it cinches at the waist, but even in an Indiana winter you won't stay warm unless its 30-40 degrees without any wind. Terribly disappointed. Could use some fleece on the inside to keep the chill out.

Shoulders, upper back, arms fit just right. The torso to bottom hem were three sizes too huge. Size Large. 5'4" 125lbs. Medium in same coat was too tight in shoulders, upper back, arms .

Tried to find a tall coat--but this was not long enough in the arms and the neckline was stiffer than I'd like. Nice design and shape otherwise. I'm 5'11'' if that helps.

I consider myself an expert when it comes to coats, so here it goes. I love the look, weight and warmth of this one. The bronze snap closure give it a classier look than a typical winter parka. That being said, I like the look, but not the function. One thing I hate on coats is a snap closure on pockets. I find them difficult to close easily with one hand. If I don't snap it closed my wallet or phone easily falls out with movement (the pockets are shallow). As an Alaskan outdoorsy woman, I do not carry a purse, so pockets are important. I wish this jacket had deeper pockets or a large inside pocket. There is a small zipper pocket at the chest inside, but I don't find this easily accessible when out running errands. The hood is another issue. I hate it. It falls over the forehead into my eyes and it's wide, causing cold air to get in. If you use the cinch closures on the sides it doesn't bring the hood in closer to your face, it only cinches the top over into your eyes. A cinch at the back of the head may be nicer to create a better fit. I do think this coat would be nice in a knee length. Size: at 5'2" I typically fluctuate between petites and regulars. I do find the sleeves too short on this petite coat. I would return or exchange if I hadn't worn it a few times already. If there were improvements to the pockets and hood I would love this coat! I may try a different style.
