I've been trying for three years to find a parka that would fit me. I have long arms & I'm short waisted. I like my shoulders to feel free & unencumbered. This coat fits to a tee! It's taken a few returned coats to get it right. Thanks, LLBean!

I've been hunting for the right coat for a long time. I was not a fan of how huge some of the down jackets can be, making it difficult to maneuver. I absolutely love this coat. I love the green color, which I ordered because black was out of stock (I'm glad it was because I love the green!). I love the hoot-it fits perfectly although I do wish a fur-lined hood was available. I love the ability to cinch in the waist, which I feel makes for a more flattering cut on the normally huge puffy coats. It is incredibly warm, but not too hot. It is so lightweight and well-made. It is soft and easy to wash. I adore this coat. Thanks for the fantastic coat, LL BEAN!

LOVE this jacket. It's a bit roomy, so it's extra comfy. It's my go-to recess duty jacket... perfect for our Vermont winters. Now I'm waiting for LLBean to make a 3/4 length version. HINT HINT!

I live in eastern PA and walk my 2 dogs nearly a mile twice daily. This coat keeps me warm like a summer day when the temperature is in the 20's F. It is not overly bulky and is surprising light weight. The color is a bit lighter than traditional navy blue and I love it. It also has zipped pockets inside the standard pockets which is perfect for my house key when we walk. Best fitting coat I have ever owned and also a great value.

I'm so glad I bought this parka! I'll be heading up north soon for the holidays and am anticipating some very cold temps, possibly snow. I was reading through reviews to see how the jacket fit, and I'm glad I listened. I typically wear XL/1X tops, 16/18 jeans, and I could comfortably size down to an XL and still have a room for layering which surprised me because I've always been a curvy girl in the back and the parka was still able to cover my bottom. However, if you are busty, you may want to stick to your normal size. I'm a 38C and it fit just right, anything bigger may be too tight across the chest.

I've had this jacket for almost a year now and it is amazing. If you're looking for something to truly keep you warm, this is it. I just left my house in 15 degree weather and cannot feel even a chill through this jacket. The length is perfect and I love the inside breast pocket for my phone and keys. I have the olive color which I think goes great with brown or black boots. I give this jacket a 10 out of 10

Absolutely love this jacket. It is water repellent which I did not find in the description but I wore it in a light rain & water beaded on the surface. The warmth is appropriately rated & I love the light weight. Also the length covers the tush without restricting leg movement.

The fit, color and inner drawstrings make this coat perfect for me. I think I could've ordered a smaller size but I wanted a little roomy so I could wear winter sweaters underneath and still be comfortable.

I am so happy that I ordered this coat. I am petite, 5'2", and most coats are long and bulky. This coat hits mid thigh as described and is light, comfortable, and warm. I was worried about ordering the kelp green and that it might look like an army jacket. It is a pleasing and feminine green. This was a good choice.

Although my budget said I couldn't have a new winter coat, I managed to slip this in under the wire. I have broad shoulders and my concern was having enough room around the chest area to be comfortable. It turns out I have plenty of room but not too big and not too small. The zipper seems quite strong and zips well without any hitches. It zips up from the left side, like a man's zipper. No biggy, very easy to conform. The length on the sleeves is also fine and even through I was concerned with the sleeves not having inside weather blocking fleece, they seem to be fine if snapped on the tightest snap and with gloves or mittens which move over it. It also has a nice, strong orange/yellow fabric hook so I can hang it on the door hook. All in all, I am happy with this coat. It's nice and warm in 35* weather but have not worn it in colder weather as of yet. Love that the hood is removable so I can wear a fleece scarf and my boiled wool hat. The recent LLBean coupon code made this possible for me and I really appreciate that gesture.

I used to have the old style heavy Baxter State Parka in a pink color with a pale pink interior. I enjoyed the cozy warmth of this jacket and it was probably the best jacket that I have ever had. Sadly, it was stolen this year. Yes, stolen! So, I wasn't sure what to get because the current Baxter State Parka had been totally revamped and was not the same at all. I knew that I wanted it long enough to cover my rear end and warm enough to stand up to chilly winds. I received this Mountain Classic Down Parka today and looked for the negative things that customers complained about. No, it did not have a weird scent. No, the hood did not fall off, although I had to roll it back away from my brow, not a big deal. No, the parka was not too big on top. No, I did not have any problems with the zipper. It was just "right" everywhere and comfortable. My only fear is that the outside material might tear easily, as it is rather thin. The parka is warm, though. So the big test will come when I wear it out in inclement weather. It looks nice and I am happy. Hard to go wrong here, gals!

I just received this coat in the Navy. I will say I mainly ordered the navy as it was the only color not backordered, so I was a little anxious about that decision. I LOVE the navy! It is sharp! I almost always have a black heavy winter coat, so it was a change for me and I am so glad I took the risk. It's very feminine for what it is--a heavy puffy winter coat. My husband loves it too. He couldn't believe the price. I am short and small framed, so I went back and forth between if I should get the petite or not, but decided to try the regular as I feel like LL Bean's petite clothes are sometimes just shorter in the arm and leg and not fitted more throughout making it overall boxy and ill fitting. The button cuffs make it simple to keep the arms from looking too long and the extra length by going with the regular length is going to be a big plus come January and February. I am normally an XS and the XXS is pretty roomy without being sloppy. Pick this one up ladies and stay warm and stylish this winter!

I have gotten nothing but compliments on this jacket. Not only is it stylish/on trend now, it is also super warm. I can wear it with a long sleeve shirt around town and sweat or with a light sweatshirt ice fishing and never be cold. Definitely worth every penny!

I've lived in South Dakota for 5 winters now and I finally decided I deserved a good quality cold weather coat. This year we've been brutalized with 25 below zero temperatures and 2 months of below freezing temeperatures as well as 2 feet of snow on the ground. The coat is so light that when it first arrived, I thought it would never keep me warm. Boy, was I wrong! This coat is WARM! I was actually a bit hot one day when we were running errands and it had "warmed up" to the mid teens. As a short, plump gal, I have a hard time finding coats that fit well. As others have said it is a little big on top but if you're wearing layers and a bulky sweater, it's very forgiving. I ordered the 2X and that's what I'd normally wear. The fabric is very soft and I chose the kelp (green) and it's really a beautify color. I have gotten several compliments. It's a little longer than a parka and it hits me below the thigh which I wanted. As someone with short arms, I love the snaps at the wrist which allow me to snap it tighter and keep the sleeve from drooping down over my hands. I'm hoping to enjoy this coat for many years to come. I'm very pleased.

I really like my new coat. At first I was afraid it would be too warm but with the temperatures we are having this winter in Ontario it is warm yet light weight. I like the drawstring at the waist so I don't feel like a marshmallow. I am also a big fan of the 2 way zipper so when sitting or walking I can unzip the bottom for comfort or to cool off a little.

I've been searching for a navy coat for a couple of years. I can't believe I found it! It's exactly what I wanted. It has a solid zipper, flap with snaps, many pockets, detachable hood, waist cord... It is light weight yet warm. I must have bought and returned 4-5 coats. They all made me look like a sausage. This one is perfect. Very pleased. Worth every penny and it wasn't cheap.

So far...Love this new parka, zip + snap, pockets, detachable hood, snap wrist (no knit cuff, whew!) and great length. The navy is a lovely color that works with jeans, though wished for the kelp that sold out fast. The balance of fit is a bit odd. Wearing a fairly balanced PM, I found the shoulders and arms a tad big compared to the body hips a tad snug. Overall a PM parka. For those who don't want boxy, this isn't for you. For those of us that want some room to layer up or down without being crammed, this is ideal!

This jacket is very warm, and easy to wear. The only negative is that it's not AS flattering as other L.L.Bean winter jackets. I love that it has a removable hood, and that the zipper & zipper pull are oversized for easy usability.
