Love this coat because of the two way zipper, length and hood.

Fit perfectly. Not making me too hot and lightweight.

For me, this is the perfect down parka. I already had the shorter version, but this extreme winter I got tired of a frozen butt so I purchased this longer version. The length is perfect and oh, what a difference it makes when I have to potty the dogs in subfreezing temps... I am now toasty warm!! It has a flattering fit, but plenty of room to wear a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. I like the fact the exterior pockets are now behind the down insulation... much warmer than the ones in the jacket version. I also love the hood and how sleek it is attached. I seriously can't say enough how much I love this parka! Great quality and a fraction of the cost of many popular brands.

This coat is great! It's kept me warm (although I haven't worn it in temps below 40 yet). I got the Gray Birch color and I would say it's true to the picture shown here. I'm 5'4", 135 lbs and the regular small fits great except for when I put the hood up. You can tell the ideal height for this coat is probably a little taller because the hood doesn't sit on my head quite right but I don't really care - I'll definitely have room to wear a beanie if needed. You can cinch the waist tighter if you want and the pockets are great! I'm not really sure how to describe them other than you essentially have dual layered pockets - the basic pocket if you undo the snaps and then there's also a zippered pocket right behind it (and each one is fleece lined). If you're a mom, you know pockets are crucial. Love this coat!

I love my women's Mountain Classic Coat. The length is good. I like the fit. The hood comes in handy as I work at a school and do bus and recess duty. The hood snaps off for cleaning. Sometimes I need to make sure all the snaps are snapped. I love it.

I'm very happy with this coat. It's warm but lightweight. It zips and snaps which kept out wind when I was snow blowing. I like the zipper area in the pockets where I can put my phone or keys and don't have to be concerned about loosing them and still have pockets for my hands.

I love this coat. Very warm and comfortable. Only downside it took practice to zip up the zipper on the first try. Very frustrating at first.

Stunning jacket that is perfect for the great north! I am 145lbs and 5'2" and got the petitie medium so I can layer on colder days. Only con is the outside pockets are not angled or very deep so things easily fall out.

I was looking for a longer warm coat. Harder task than anticipated. They clearly don't consider curves when designing coats for women. The sales associate in CT was really great helping me out. We finally landed on this one. I was able to zip it over my hips without looking foolish up by my shoulders. It's good looking and very warm. Exactly what I needed.

I buy coats from LL Bean because I know they are made for subzero weather. I've been in -40 degrees F. LL Bean coats keep me warm!

I love my jacket. Bought the small one even thought i am 155lbs and 5'7 so that gives you an idea- it is made big. Quality is great and has a defined waist which I think makes for a great silhouette even though it is a puffy winter jacket.

I'm so glad I purchased this parka! I was in NE Washington State at Christmas when they had the very cold weather. It really did the job and kept me warm and comfortable. Well done!

I have been searching for a replacement for a coat that is over twelve years old or more. This coat is a gem. Not only does it keep me warm, I feel that it is styled well. Excellent quality. Great length.

I wasn't sure which coat would work best for me so I ordered the Ultralight 850 Down and the Waterproof Ultralight Down and the Mountain Classic Parka. I ordered them all in black and all in XL. I compared them side by side. I wear a size 14 (loose) in most brands but usually order an XL in LL Bean shirts and sweaters. I have some other coats from them in Large but I couldn't decide what was best so I took a chance and ordered XL. I probably could have worn the Large but I wanted to have room for a sweatshirt, vest or whatever so the XL was good for me. Ultimately I kept the Mountain Classic Parka. I felt it was by far the warmest of all 3. It is the bulkiest so if you're looking for compact, this isn't as lightweight as the others. I was going to South Dakota in December so wanted something that would withstand the cold temperatures. Warmth was the deciding factor but the Mountain Classic had some great features. First, I love the two way zipper - I will never own a coat that doesn't have one. Second, I love the flap that goes over the zipper, it makes it easy to snap the jacket on without having to zip it. I also think it makes it warmer. I didn't have any issue with the hood as some others mentioned or with the pockets. I agree, the pockets could be a bit deeper but they are functional. The Ultralight down was not nearly as flattering of a style. It may be a warm coat but I didn't think it looked that good and it didn't feel nearly as warm as the classic. The Waterproof Ultralight Down was ok and I wanted to love it, but the style wasn't very flattering. I realize down coats aren't going to be that flattering in general but it just looked "tent" like and didn't seem like it was worth the $$. I will say it had a nice interior and slipped on nicely and felt good but it didn't feel as warm as the classic parka. Overall, I'm very happy. I've worn it tons of times and always gotten compliments on it and when others are cold, I'm nice and toasty. I also like the drawstring that allows you to make the jacket a bit more tailored if you like. I love LL Beans coats and sweaters because the sleeves are a good length for me - some brands are so long.

I really like this coat because it feels so comfortable and warm. I don't have any issues with the zipper or the hood. I think the hood is perfect fit and warmth for me. I do feel like this coat runs big. I usually wear a size small in tops. I am about 5'6" and weight almost 140 pounds. I am bottom heavy so I usually wear a size 4 or 6 on top. So in theory I should be a size small but the size small was huge on me. It would have worked but it looked very oversized in my opinion. I exchanged it for the extra small which fits perfectly. I have plenty of room for easy movement and even for a light jacket underneath.

I'm pear shaped and the medium fits me well (5'1"). It's really warm and sometimes I just walk with it unzipped. It has good pockets including one inside and a warm hood that stays on well. I like the double zipper; you can unzip from the bottom (like other reviewers have mentioned can be a little finicky), but it's nice to use the bottom zipper if you need more breathability and range of motion when walking.

I am liking this parka. It fits well and seems true to size. It's warm. The zipper works well. I love the olive color. The quality is excellent. My only little complaint is about the pockets. I wish there was another inside pocket, and I wish the outside pockets were slightly larger.

I needed a back up for my other winter coat, so happy I purchase this one. I wear a large size coat and this fits great. Have room whether I wear a bulky sweater or a hoodie over a thinner shirt or sweater. It's a warmer weight, length hits above the knees and keeps the cold wind out. Pockets are smaller than I'd like but place your keys (after taking the add'l 5 lbs of keychains off) in the inside zipped pocket and you're good. Love this coat!
